fun fact therians can be physically nonhuman
uhhhh since people are talking about the ugly part of alterhumanity I figured I’d throw in my two cents
Fear agression - I’ve heard a lot on prey drive so I’m not gonna add but fear aggression is a big thing too. not only getting spooked and whirling around, teeth bared and maybe biting on instinct. but also seeing people who you have bad experiences with and everything in you wanting to defend yourself violently when you really can’t/shouldn’t by human standards.
Body language - For the longest time I just nodded and slow blinked instead of waving. I still don’t really know how to show upset by human standards so I just curl my lip and wish I had anything else that could show my emotion like ears to flip back or fur to bristle. I don’t get human body language either except in the overlap between nonhuman and human. I do not know how to show human emotion because i have had a nonhuman body map for as long as I can remember. Also autism
pack mentality & attachment issues - idk how common this is but I am so viciously attached to my pack and my mate that sometimes it’s really hard to step back and realize that sometimes they’re wrong or that they should fight their own battles. Being apart from them like, hurts.
Boredom in human environments - constantly feeling like a zoo animal. I’m not supposed to sit in a box for eight hours a day I’m supposed to maul prey with my teeth and run across miles and miles of coastline with my pack. not only being homesick but also jus being, like… really fucking bored, feeling restrained almost.
geez the heart attack this hawk just gave me. all it did was fly overhead, but all my muscles tensed for impact…
alright y'all buckle up i got another rant incoming.
unless you have prior consent from the psychotic person, do NOT reality check them. it may be helpful for some people, but for the rest of us, it is agitating and (at least in my case) makes our psychosis worse.
if curing psychosis (not that curing psychosis is the goal) was as simple as "believe me when i say, what you see/hear/believe is untrue" i would NOT be taking 80mg of antipsychotics each day. i would just believe you. but when you tell me that the belief that is as true as day is wrong, i just feel stupid and angry. i feel stupid (especially if it was said in a patronizing tone) for believing what i believe and i feel angry that you would violate my beliefs like that.
case in point, a couple of days ago my dad and i were having a conversation and he mentioned that i am, whether i like it or not, i am human. he damn well knows that one of my strongest delusions to this day is that i have canine dna that is expressing human proteins, that's why i have a human body. scoffing and telling me that i am human and i'll realize it one day just makes me angry and reinforces my delusion. it doesn't make me believe you.
you can call yourself neurodivergent, but if you ain't normal about psychotic folks, i'll see you in autism hell, bitch.
I noticed your profile picture is beach bear So Cool.. 😇🪽 it's cool to see another someone in the other kin community that's a rock afire fan (or someone who atleast likes the characters! ❤️🪽)
(i'm a little shy to send any asks but i need to get over my fear eventually So I'm sorry if this is random or worded a little weirdly ! 😢🪽 )
Oh don’t be shy! I used to be really obsessed with rockafire and animatronics in general, so beach bear has stuck as my pfp :]
(I don’t know if this is just me or if other neurodivergent people experience this but) growing up I was bullied/shamed for having any interests whatsoever so now I’ve just learned to internalize any impulses to infodump. like I really want to talk about all these really interesting things, but like even thinking about telling another person just feels so wrong? and dirty? I don’t really know if this makes sense, but it’s basically unstoppable force (the need to share my hyperfixations) vs immovable object (paralyzing anxiety)
Hello, have question regarding changelings. What qualify as one? Have be fae? Am not human, am dragon winter spirit, made look like human and raised by, but know not real parents. Resonate lot with last post, and even other things read about changelings, so made wonder if can be called one, if is "broad term" for nonhuman creatures exchanged/replaced at birth, or if is more specific to species or something similar.
@winter-cub
I don’t think there is an exact definition to changeling. We’re not exactly a species but more of a category of creatures swapped for human young. For me personally the fae aspect is a big part of my changeling identity. However, I don’t see why another creature switched at birth couldn’t be considered a changeling. I think if the stories of changelings really resonate with you, then you could use the word to identify yourself.
