11.03.2025// survived a semi-interesting workshop, another busy day at work and a long, long phd brainstorm/writing/reading session. can't wait to unwind in the afternoon!

March 4th, 2025.
Today was BUSY, but good! What mattered most was that I continued to show up to everything. I really didn't want to drive to campus twice, but goddamnit, I did it!
My boss told me that he wants me to be team lead for a big project. I'm super excited for this! Promotion in a year or so, here I come!
Now I just need to catch up on my homework backlog... lol.
What I accomplished:
Edited ep 13 of the podcast
Started, finished, and submitted the grant application for my research
Fixed up the grant proposal for my workplace
Had a Zoom meeting with my boss where he said he wants me to be team lead for this project!!!
Attended office hours for a class
Recorded a podcast episode
Had a club meeting on-campus
22-23/100 days of productivity
Did two old chemistry exams. I think if i go on with this same pace for the next weeks, i’ll get done everything i need to get done for this exam. Can’t wait!
I particularly focused on a few reactions i have to learn by heart, and how to balance symproportionations and disproportionations without getting confused (:
Hello!
I'm a biochemistry undergrad aiming to go to grad school (*^.^*)
I've recently struggled with my mental health, which has made school tough, so now I'm trying to get back into the grind >.<
This blog will document my progress. I hope to keep myself accountable and maybe provide some relatability and/or inspiration to others!!
Hi! You can call me lettuce (he/ they), i’m 22 and currently a physio therapy student :)
Life didn’t quite go as planned and i didn’t do abitur (german entrance requirement for university) so i was unable to go to med school. While PT isn’t the worst, i quite like the job, im not willing to give up on my goal. So i guess the plan is to:
1. finnish physio school with the best grades possible (1.5-2 years)
2. redo abitur (2-3 years depending on which courses i have to do)
3. during abitur: get 3 months of nursing experience (really helps with getting into med school here), do the TMS (test for medical studies) and potentially do some more social volunteering if i find the time for it
4. convince a university that im a good pick lmao

god good morning! back on my studying in my car grind, since i’ve been waking up hella early for some reason. the weather is amazing and im getting more comfortable in clothes again! enjoy some notes on blood 😊

The first chemical technology lab was super fun! I'm surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did, given it's kind of... ochem-heavy and I absolutely detested ochem labs. But I had a good time! Fingers crossed that won't change.
Lab partner and I made biofuel via esterification and transesterification reactions. The former was a reaction between oleic acid and methanol in acidic solution. The resulting ester - methyl oleate - has a greater density than methanol which is why it falls to the bottom of the cylinder, as you can see in the gif. It was so cool to see these "bubbles" in the entire volume just floating downwards as the reaction progressed. I love chemistry! 💖
sunday | march 9
officially one week til i'm done with the term and my digital to-do list just isn't cutting it anymore. the next seven days will be a haze of lab reports and presentations and final exams, but i'll come out the other end one step closer to getting that degree.
spectrophotometer lab & physical chemistry notes
25 FEBRUARY 2025 | 34/100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY
started the day with physical chemistry lab!
then went to work - waiting on a couple of other departments to send me stuff, so had a chill day
evening bioethics lecture!
had a dance rehearsal after class
then finished a couple of problems for physical chemistry
🎧: everybody else is doing it so why can't we? - the cranberries 📚: ulysses - james joyce (i WILL finish it by the end of the month)
Did I skip my lecture to work on my lab report that I didn't do this weekend...? Yes. But at least I'm getting it done. Been feeling incredibly tired lately, however.
Today's goals:
● Finish Lab Report
● Take notes on lecture slides
● Sleep early
Sometimes you just have to lower your expectations a little and take care of yourself I guess.
