thoughts on moominvalley in november?
Moominvalley in November is truly a wonderful book I would recommend to fans of the series in general.
Though, to be honest, I came into the book with the impression that it would be a depressing read considering its oversimplified description by the fans, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find it was a book about a somewhat hilarious dysfunctional found family trying to make sense of the Moomin family's absence. While there are emotionally complex arcs and themes to these one-off characters (plus Snufkin and Mymble Jr) and these arcs touch upon themes that could be considered depressing, I think it's a rich experience in exploring these upset individuals who can't find comfort in the Moomins but instead have to find comfort within themselves and eventually learn to tolerate and even celebrate with eachother.
The characters' dynamics are enjoyable and often silly, and there are a few things to chew thoughts about, and we have descriptions and such that tell us a few things about the Moomins (or at least, Moominpappa and Moominmamma) such as the parents' separate rooms and how they represent each of their personalities and interests.
Overall, it becomes obvious why it's alot of people's favorite book in the series and it's a highly recommendable read if you have the access and time!
It’s just full au brainrot.
Reigen fully taking in another emotionally constipated teen, being a dad without realizing it. Teruki and Saiki do NOT get along very fast. And some small Mob and Saiki sillies :3
And my first time drawing Kuriko! I love her so dearly X3

Raws: Bookwalker Translation: @ce-la Typesetting: Me!
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the last page’s epilogue and message from the author. I’m still waiting for a new pen.Â
I really like the dynamic and punchline of this one. I guess the undervalued mom thing is just universal. The parts where Kunikida calls himself a housekeeper and wonders whether he raised him right always get me. Kyouka holding crab bread is so cute!!! Anyways, thanks to Ce-la translating and for being understanding of me and my… me-ness (a whole lot of them just passing down sage advice to me like that old person in a video game and explaining Japanese nuances). Let’s all also hope I get a mom friend like Kunikida who can take care of me. And enjoy the manga!

I have no excuses, but that’s how I see this scene..
I love how Oda shows that Gear 5 is getting more powerful. Not through how much destruction it causes, but that Luffy is now using other kinds of slapstick.
When fighting Kaido Luffy was using body/environment squish and strech (I have no idea what any of the terms I'm trying to use are). Growing in size, bouncing off the ground, turning Kaido into a balloon and jump rope, most of that fight had rubbery qualities to its gags, even the eye stretches can be categorized as stretching, as none truly fell out. (Ussop is able to do a similar thing with the wasabi grape, but that's a whole nother post and another reason for his godhood.)
Against the Gorosei though, he's turned them into paper (which is distinctly NOT rubber,) had all his scars blown off, and created a baseball bat and helmet with paint seeming out of nowhere!
Oda is making it so that Luffy can do anything to anyone so long as it'll get a laugh from us, and while I'm not qualified to do an analysis on that subtle 4th wall breaking. I for one can't until he does the ultimate attack and shoves Pies into all their faces!
I'm starting to believe that Dazai's Good-bye speech was legit meant to be a misdirect for Fyodor, but then Chuuya went brlbrl and Dazai's actual feelings got involved, so he cut it short
Cheng Xiaoshi's Death Analysis — PART 1: Cheng Xiaoshi's Character Analysis
Why is Lu Guang so desperate to save him? Let's analyze!
let’s begin with the part where Cheng Xiaoshi is informed by the officer that Lu Guang’s rescue failed, he died.
(now this will be a bit long since i'll be contrasting their personalities, so please bear with me. if you want me to get to the point then skip to part 3)
Cheng Xiaoshi, after breaking down in tears, seemed to have been struck by the same exact idea as that of Lu Guang — to go back in time and save him.
However, the difference between Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi in this case (where the thought processed was awfully similar) is that Cheng Xiaoshi did not execute this plan/idea of his.
I know you’re aware of all what I’m saying right now but hear me out…
isn’t it very odd?
now I’m sure you guys might say/think: “we already know that.” “that’s because they’re so attached to each other!” “Link Click is full of plot twists! So it’s not odd for them to surprise us!” “Lu Guang’s got feelings too y’know?!” “Maybe Lu Guang really just does care.”
Wait. Listen.
I’m not trying to imply that Lu Guang doesn’t have feelings, that he doesn’t have a heart — of course he does, he’s a human. But compared to Cheng Xiaoshi, he’s less emotional.
Cheng Xiaoshi is known to be the more sentimental, sensitive, and selfless one of the two. He usually allows his emotions to control him. He wears his heart on his sleeve. (at least that's what the donghua shows us)
But, somehow, he was able to restrain himself from letting his emotions take over him and dive back in time (all because a glimpse of Lu Guang, reciting the rule, flashed before his eyes)
He, Cheng Xiaoshi, the so very attached to Lu Guang Cheng Xiaoshi, was able to restrain.
And please do keep in mind that the emotions he experienced when he discovered Lu Guang’s death must have been unbelievably strong and unbearable; overwhelming beyond words because it’s like losing a source of happiness in your life.
He must have been so scared because he’s already experienced the horror of being abandoned by the most valuable people in his life such as his very own parents — and I bet he doesn’t wanna re-experience it.
Despite all that, he was able to restrain.
But Lu Guang couldn’t.
[keep in mind that these are just mere conclusions drawn from close observations, assumptions, and theories. i can be wrong too since sgdlr loves surprising us with plot twists! so feel free to express your opinion in the comments!]
