Hey Arnold PS118 Gang Job Headcanons

Just thought of something I’d do for fun and to give my thoughts. I’m only doing Arnold and his class. I don’t want to overload myself with characters.

Arnold: I see him becoming a guidance counselor for PS118. He wishes to help bring a brighter future to Hillwood and to help kids through their problems. He didn’t like the idea of asking for so much money as a therapist. He also still helps his parents run the boarding house.

Gerald: I believe he would become the next radio DJ of MJZZ. He loves it there, but he’s also trying to offer his voice to audio books as well because he misses telling stories like the ones he did as a kid.

Phoebe: She decides to become a college professor to help mold the minds of future world builders. She originally was going to be Helga’s editor, but life happened and she decided to live herself and give Helga time to heal on her own. She misses her, but she feels it’s the best course of action for both of them, no matter how painful.

Harold: After blowing his one shot of getting a college degree in football, he becomes the butcher he dreamed of as an early teen.

Sid: Since one of his dreams jobs was archaeology, I think he would most likely become a museum curator. I think he’s too paranoid to actually explore the world and be an archaeologist, but museum curators have to have knowledge in archaeology though. I thought it would fit, but I also think an actuary job fits him as well. XD

Stinky: After all the times he got pushed into a trash he believes it as a prophetic sign from the “Mystical Disembodied Voice” to become a garbage man (you can just hear Helga saying, “Stinky you’re an idiot.”). He still maintains a proper garden and sells the harvest every now and then, but not many people in the city would buy from a place called “Stinky’s Stand”.

Rhonda: She tried to make it as an actress, model, and even a fashion designer, but none were successful. Her parents grown sick of her wasting money on her temporary dreams, so they tell to either get a job, follow the family business in stocks, or they’ll cut off her ties to their bank account. So now she work’s at the Gammelthorpe‘s dry cleaners to pay off beauty school in hopes maybe she’ll run a beauty salon. She growing tired of broken dreams and seriously considers marrying for money every now and then.

Nadine: She becomes an entomologist. It was the most fitting since of her undying love of things creepy and crawly.

Sheena: She becomes a home health nurse because it was originally a way to prepare for Eugene’s inevitable need of constant medical attention. She eventually does it for herself because she genuinely likes this line of work with or without Eugene.

Eugene: He moves away to become a musical theatre actor in California. However, fate had different plans. Instead he settles for becoming a stunt double in comedy movies. Even if he’s no more than an in-between shot in a film, Eugene is just happy that his dream has technically come true. He still hopes one day he will be the main protagonist in a bigtime musical one day.

Curly: He ran off with Eugene to make it as a star as well. He a bit more successful than Eugene do to his over-the-top personality. He still doesn’t get the best roles, but at least he’s not a stunt double. I like to think Eugene and Curly would have an “Odd Couple” type of friendship when they’re trying to be famous.

Lila: Thanks to the help of Olga she became the famous ballerina she always wanted to be. She gets to tour with a crew and dance into everybody’s hearts. Even though her dream has come true, she misses Hillwood, even more than she ever missed Pleasantville. So choosing her friends and family of Hillwood over ballet, she quits her dream, and becomes a ballet teacher instead. She also gardens on the side. ;3

 Brainy: He moved to Elk Island and became a woodsperson… (I don’t know think of something better!)

Lorenzo: He’s rich...

Helga: Not getting into the college of her dreams was one of the worst days of her life. Arnold and her broke up, Arnold left to go to college in another state, she never got to say goodbye to him, Phoebe left for the college of her dreams, and Olga was permanently staying in Hillwood to become an actress. She had never felt so low and pathetic. She was never one to wallow in her pain though, so she hardened up, and kept moving forward with her life. She went to a community college in Hillwood to have some form of education until she can figure out what she could do next. She worked two jobs, Slausen’s in the day and El Patio at night. She needed two to save up for whatever she was going to do next and pay the rent of her apartment. There was no way she was staying in the dump her parents called a home now that she was a legal adult. Eventually, she finally decided to become a teacher. She always enjoyed telling people what to do, so might as well boss a bunch of 4th grade, snotty nose brats. She also did it for the vacation hours, so she could have time to hone her writing passion and make a novel. Without Arnold in her life though, she lost any inspiration she had to write left. Now there’s apparently some new guidance counselor she had watch out for. “Guidance counselor, what a load of… Arnold!”

I Just Threw All Logic Out of the Window for This Headcanon!

I can't believe it. I just figured out Zeke's likely stepmom and now I'm throwing it all away for a headcanon that's definitely never going to be canon simply because it's more fun. XD Okay, you know how Zeke loves giving people nicknames. Well, what if Cheryl is a nickname and not her official name? I also found out that the owner of the flower shop next to Jimmy Pesto's restaurant is named Charlotte. Cheryl can easily be a nickname for Charlotte. So because I want to capitalize on this character's name, regardless of how logical it is. Charlotte is Cheryl and blue blouse lady is Zeke's bio mom, redesigned from the Belchies one.

Charlotte being Zeke's stepmom could add more reasons as to why he was passionate about the bees dying in "UFO No You Didn't" aside from the fact his grandma told the state of the bees.

It also has the potential to play into his view of weeds in "Bob Actually" when he pitched weeds are the right plant growing in the wrong place. Also, if she's the kind of person that can name her business "The Petalphile" I can see her as the person that has no issue marrying somebody decades older than her. lol There's still the issue most likely never seeing Charlotte around with a baby (as far as I know) since it's established that Cheryl recently gave birth to a baby in season 2. Charlotte is still very much a blank slate though and as long as she doesn't have any concrete bg details that can kill this headcanon, I can easily explain it away. We even had a chance to see Charlotte's house in "The Bleakening" but never did because they skipped over her after we saw Marshmellow. It also could add lore to how Zeke and JJ became friends. While Zeke's dad is busy flirting with Charlotte at the flower shop, Zeke could go over next door to Pesto's and hangs out with Jimmy Jr and thus becomes friends in and outside school.

Anyway, despite all the potential for this idea, I'm still aware it's very unlikely and prepared to eventually see it become impossible in canon. I love flowers and I just think the idea of Zeke having a florist stepmom that's next door to his best friend's dad's business could be a fun idea.

Anyway, until my train of thought crashes and explodes upon the wall of canon, this is the route I'm taking.

Other than that, good luck if you end up watching every episode involving Zeke making a comment about Tina. I'm genuinely looking forward to the results if you update. Also I've glad you find the caption amusing. The original meme had a swear and that's not my style. So, I censored it with something that's still technically a swear nowadays but I still live in the 90s/early 2000s so it's okay. XD

Linda: But trying to make people think you're cool is exhausting. And when you stop trying, suddenly the next person you talk to thinks you're the best person ever.

Cue the time-passing montage of Tina learning to let go of that embarrassing moment and stop trying to be cool. Most of the time it's with her family, at the restaurant, or by herself just investing herself in her favorite music again. However, there's this one frame I'm convinced has subtle symbolism!

The only time Zeke appears in the episode and it's to be in front of Tina while she looks out the window still sad from the event. Due to how this scene was set up it really looks like it's implying that Zeke is one of those that would think Tina is "the best person ever". However, Tina is too busy being sad to notice what's already in front of her. I mean, the window perfectly frames Zeke in (and sweet Susmita gets her moment too, even if it's just her hair and some of her skin) when they literally could have done whatever they wanted and changed the character in the seat in front of Tina. Heck, Tina could have been in the last seat and further symbolize the loneliness/self-pity Tina is feeling. It's possible they just wanted to stick with accurate continuity and have Tina, Zeke, Susmita, and the rest be in the same seating arrangements as they were in "Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang". For continuity reasons or not, I still take it as symbolism that Zeke already thinks Tina is the coolest person ever and Tina just needs to really look around her to realize it. The subtext I tell ya!

Zekina Headcanons Part 3 (or Maybe 4?)

1. I don't see this used enough in fanfiction but I think Linda, Louise, and Gene would absolutely be aware of Tina's complicated feelings about Zeke. Not because it would be obvious (even though it would be) but because they read her diary. Tina keeps a very detailed record in her diary so Linda and her siblings would absolutely be aware of all the big Zekina moments like "Midday Run" and "Oeder Games"

So my point I'm bringing up is Louise and Gene may not have been able to interpret Tina's dream in "Go Tina on the Mountain" but Linda as a grown woman would be able to (eventually because I mean she's not a genius, but we still love her). Of course, since Linda is a good mom she would never constantly push her to give Zeke a chance because in the end, it's Tina's choice what she wants to do and it should be respected. Though when Tina is older and is struggling to admit her feelings it would be the perfect opportunity for Linda to come to console her and give her two cents on the whole thing. She would tell Tina that maybe she should "Green Eggs and Ham" it. Linda reassures her no one is expecting her to marry Zeke, all they hope for is for her to try out new dishes and see what happens. If it doesn't work out they'll still love her and won't give her grief for it not working. Linda also is convinced that Tina wants to give Zeke a try more than she's willing to admit (thanks to her prior info on the old diary entries). Linda feels that Tina's just scared of letting go of her dreams and letting them evolve. Just because what she wanted didn't work out doesn't mean it was for nothing. All the time spent dreaming was important for her to develop into the person she is now. So Linda tells her to never stop dreaming her crazy fantasies but also don't let them blind her from what's in front of her. Let the fantasies grow and change as she lets herself change. It's not giving up, it's growing up. 2. I think one big struggle I could see happening for older Tina to admit that she actually like likes Zeke is because of how easily the universe seems to be driving them together. It would be so frustrating for her to have every one of her loved ones adoring Zeke and Zeke effortlessly meeting every one of Tina's "extremely high" standards. Like, what was the universe doing when she was with Jimmy Jr., come on?! Zeke is basically the gift Tina never asked for, trapped in an unappealing package, and yet still had everything she could ever need in it. She would claim to just see Zeke as a friend even when everything around her is unintentionally/intentionally pushing her toward him and it's very annoying. Part of her deep down would want to give in but if she does then it proves that everything she ever wanted was wrong and she wasted all this time pursuing it for nothing when there was a perfectly decent guy in front of her. She would refuse to admit that to herself because she wouldn't be able to handle the heavy truth. It couldn't be that hard for her to eventually find the perfect guy that has Zeke's character, Jimmy Jr.'s body, a sexy accent, and maybe even owns a horse farm in Paris, right? She wouldn't want to give up her fantasies so easily when she's been hoping for them for so long. Would choosing Zeke really be worth letting go of all the potential guys that could fulfill all that she ever dreamed of? Would Tina and Zeke be able to go back to being friends if it didn't work out? Once Tina would finally let Zeke try to "get her" it would only take one date for her questions to be answered.

3. Zeke would be very into the times Tina threatened to punch someone again and again and again and again... you get the picture. XD Zeke would try to get Tina to settle down, but he gives it a minute before he does. lol

4. Zeke can surprisingly be very smooth and charming when he wants to be. It's to the point Tina is flabbergasted seeing this is the same guy that thought a good way to flirt with a girl was to spit a loogie up in the air and catch it in his mouth. 5. Tina volunteers every now and then to babysit Cheryl's kid when Zeke can't babysit his half-sibling for whatever reason. 6. Zeke is a bad dancer because he's too stiff but that doesn't stop him from dancing and dragging Tina along with him. His confidence and having no shame make up for his lack of good dancing moves.

7. Tina later on in life would try to learn capoeira again, for the right reasons this time. She practices with Zeke as he practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu. They like to see how each pan out with their different styles of Brazilian martial arts. The results vary greatly but they are trying at least. (I had to take this coincidence as fast as I could because it was so funny that they both mentioned doing some type of Brazilian martial arts at one point. Maybe I just want Tina and Zeke to pin each other? lol XD)

That's all I got for now. I stayed true to my word and gave new headcanons after the "So You Stink You Can Dance" came out. Hopefully one of these inspires one of you Zekina shippers to utilize it. The first two headcanons are basically me trying to picture how I see an older Tina would react to Zeke being more forward about wanting to date her. I wanted to balance her confidence and insecurity. I'm an INFP like Tina is so I'm trying super hard not to project my own low confidence onto Tina. She needs to be insecure but not too insecure that she loses what makes her a badass. She doesn't want to come off as easy to capture because Zeke made such a big deal of confidence in getting her eventually in "Midday Run". He'll have her heart when he pries it out of her cold, undead, zombie hands! XD
