Please Please Please I Beg Of You To Make Sero Head Canons With A Small Mix Of Everything (I Love Him

sero, who's the type to casually initiate physical affection—grabbing your hand out of nowhere while walking up a rocky hill, putting his head on your shoulders while sitting next to him, or leaning his arm across your shoulders like it’s second nature. he does it so naturally, so instinctively, that it doesn’t even feel like a gesture—just something that is so casual for him.

sero, who never lets anything go unnoticed. felt a cool breeze? he's already wrapping his jacket around you, even if you say you're fine. came home to find you passed out with your makeup still on? he’s gently wiping it off, knowing how much you care about your skin. noticed you're out of your favorite chips? he’s restocking without a word the next time he leaves the house.

sero, who never dims your light—not for a second. he could be having the worst day of his life, but if you walk in excited and glowing about something, he’ll match your energy without missing a beat. your joy is his joy, always.

sero, who brags about you constantly to his friends. “that mission? all them, i was just there for decoration,” or, “you’re struggling with that? ask them, they’re seriously the beeessstttt at it!” he finds any excuse to talk you up, like it's just a fact everyone should already know.

sero, who learned to make tiny origami animals with his tape. he’s not even sure when it started—just a little trick that turned into something more. now you find frogs and cats and birds left on your nightstand, each with a scribbled note underneath: made this just for you ღ

sero, who never pushes you or makes you feel overwhelmed. if you’re upset, he doesn’t ask a million questions. doesnt pressure you. he just shows up—snacks in hand, a quiet movie queued up—and sits beside you in silence. he waits, ever so caring, until you're ready to talk.

⋆. 𐙚 ̊ — Rain, Rain, Wash It All Away.

Never in Tsuyu’s life would she think she’d fall for you. Hard. A friend she held so dearly, one that she would turn to in the midst of her busy mind, one that she would cry to, laugh with, everything. And yet here she was, heart thumping harder than it’s supposed to, hands clammy and her smile felt too stiff. Suddenly, her habit of letting her hands hang down felt weird to her, and she didn’t know where to place them.

You didn’t seem to notice though, much to her relief and disappointment.

She hated it. Hated the way she didn’t feel as loose with you anymore, the way she felt too much or even too less for you. Her usual carefree and aloofness seemed to just run away from her grasp the moment you smiled at her, or laughed, or… anything.

Tsuyu wasn’t sure when it started. Maybe it was the way you’ve always been present to lend a shoulder for her to lean to, or maybe the way you’d smile at her small mutters when she focused on a task. Maybe… maybe it had always been there.

Maybe she just didn’t notice.

But now that she did, it felt too much for her. She didn’t know what to do with them, so she tried to handle them herself.

To say that she was avoiding you wouldn’t be true to her, but she was.

She stopped her small glances and snickers she’d share with you across the room every time someone said something funny, or the way she’d smack your shoulder with a giggle when you said a dirty joke.

Now you’re left wondering what you did so wrong, why she wasn’t smiling at you the same as before, why it was still easy for her to smile with people, and not you.

You kept your smile, kept saying your small hi’s and hey’s to her, kept chiming those jokes she’d laugh about. You kept being yourself. So what was so wrong? It felt like the more you tried to talk to her about it, she always had an excuse. Always had to go somewhere, always had someone else call her away from you.

And somehow, that someone would be something, something…Eijiro.

He’d throw that sneaky grin to her, one she’d smile back to, or maybe he’d say something—something so funny she’d laugh.

You couldn’t help it. Eijiro’s a great guy, the boy inspired you a lot to improve yourself and to keep fighting. But lately, he just looks annoying in your eyes. And you hated feeling that way.

But when you accidentally hit Eijiro too hard on the face, and she comes running to him?

“Shit– s-sorry Ei,” You gasped, rushing to his stumbling form.

He grinned, waving a hand in dismissal while the other rubbed his cheek. “No, no! That was amazing, y/n!!” Eijiro laughed, giving you a thumbs up.

“Eijiro,” Tsuyu ran, passing you from behind. “Are you okay…?”

Oh God it was so hard for you to stay smiling and apologize. Maybe you should punch him again.

You huffed, trying to hide it off as a small chuckle rather than a scoff. As you gave a last look to the two, you threw Eijiro a small ice pack with a strained smile before walking off to the locker room to change.

.☘︎ ݁˖ 𓆏

“Fucking shit,” You muttered, trying to hide the venom dripping from your voice. Your hand harshly shoved your training shoes into the locker, breaths heavy, hot. You didn’t even know who you were cursing out. Not one of them was even in the wrong, not in the slightest.

“Can’t even— fucking–”

The locker clasped, briefly trapping a small flesh of your skin, pinching it sharply.

“Agh! Bastard—!!” You winced, sucking the finger as an attempt to comfort it.

You huffed, kicking yourself onto the small bench in the middle of the aisle. Your heart thrummed, drumming against your chest like it shouted for itself. It ached, it hurt. Badly. Worst thing is, you can’t even do anything about it. Who were you to be jealous of someone who’s not even yours to claim?

Eijiro’s heavy steps soon came close, before a calloused hand was placed onto your shoulder.

“You did great today, y/n. Don’t worry ‘bout punching me,” he chuckled, patting your shoulder lightly.

“..Fuck off.” You muttered, harshly standing up to trudge toward the exit.

He stood there, his grin frozen to confusion as his hand still hovered over where your shoulder used to be at. Bringing his hand to scratch his cheek, “...Okay, I guess..”

Your boots trudged against the concrete floors, breaths heavy and labored as you painfully tried to hide your boiling feelings, or the way your face scowled so deeply, you might need to iron it out later.

Tsuyu’s eyes followed your form. You saw it, felt it tingling by the side of your face. You wanted to smile, to grin at her again, but you just couldn’t. It felt like climbing a mountain to smile at her.

Okay maybe it didn’t. Not with her adorable eyes looking to you like she was always ready to listen to you, or the way her lips were always shaped into a small pout you loved so much—too much. You couldn’t stay mad, not when you hear that small ‘ribbit’ every time she says something. You just can't help but be angry at yourself.

But by Tsuyu’s eyes, it looked like you were angry at her.

Your eyes glanced at her in a way she wasn’t used to. Not that same smile and light hearted chuckle you’d let out as you waved to her. No, they looked at her like you wanted her gone.

For a second she reached out, yet your steps were fast, angry, like you didn’t want her near you. So she stopped, letting her hand fall back to her side.

.☘︎ ݁˖ 𓆏

One night, you had enough.

The class laughed and chattered along, giggling at the movie playing by the T.V.

All night your eyes had only glanced to the right or at your phone, shoulders tense and jaw clenched. It’s like even your head refused to turn to the left, knowing she probably sat by him, giggling softly under her breath as he whispered something to her ear. And you couldn’t see it. Couldn’t bear to.

So you stood up, almost too suddenly. Hanta even asked where you were going, and you muttered, “Out.” Short, simple, sharp.

You needed it..

Needed out, some breath of fresh air.

Needed to calm yourself down from whatever demon’s tugging on your nerves.

You hoped she noticed, hoped she didn’t. Hoped that she could at least just call out your name, hoped she just stayed silent.

With fast, strained steps, you found yourself outside. Dark was the night, loud and silent with the rain and thunder, and no one to talk to. Your heart pounded in your chest, clawing by your chest, begging to scream out.

“This is ridiculous.” You muttered to no one, letting the water drip from your forehead to your nose.

“Stupid feelings—”

Your throat felt tight, like it clenched to your neck, strangling you to coax out your cries.

“Stupid, stupid!!”

“I hate them, I— I hate her!!!”

For a second you felt a presence, steps stopping behind you as if hesitant to approach.

“What…?” Tsuyu’s voice softly whimpered. The rain almost felt like it stopped, and if it didn’t, it fell silent to your ears. None of the loud pitter-pattering to the ground and the roof, the world narrowed and silenced for her.

“Y-you didn’t… you didn’t mean that… right..?” Her eyes narrowed, searching into yours.

A breath hitched in your lungs, refusing to come up. And your head screamed for you to say sorry.

“Leave me alone,” Your mouth betrayed, refusing to turn and look at her.

She mumbled a noise, like you had punched her. “N-No..”

Your head snapped to her direction, your body following suit. “What the fuck do you even want, Tsu?”

“First you avoided me for no reason, now you’re refusing to just leave me alone?” You scoffed, your face twisting to a frustrated smirk.

The small wide eyed girl flinched, her pout turned to a small frown, as if not used to seeing you like this. Thunder clapped above the two of you, “It— it’s not like that!!” She cried out, her voice breaking with the rain.

A laugh escaped your lips, disbelieved.

“I mean it, y/n, please!!”

“I…I was just scared, okay..?!”

“Scared..?” You echoed, eyebrows stitching together closer. “Scared?!” So did your steps. Your finger pointed to her, holding back the venom you were dripping with. “You pushed me away!! And what?”

“All for a boy?!” You scoffed again, pushing her shoulder. “I thought you were better than that, Tsu!!”

“It’s not about Eijiro!!!” She shouted, her head ducked down, rain dripping from her bangs, her fists clenched so tight to her sides they trembled.

“I don’t like him like that, o-okay?! I like…”

“I like you…”

Almost a whisper.

Just enough as a whimper.

The rain silenced again. Your eyes refuse to look at anything, not even acknowledging the water dripping from your lashes into your eyes, they only narrowed down to her.

Her. Clenching herself by her arms, shivering from the cold, water glistened her skin as it gleamed softly under the floodlights. Her dark green hair slick to her face, her small shoulders shaking softly with each and every sob she held back. Her.

Sobbing. For you.

Because of you.

And your mind is alarmed again, screaming the same tune, telling you to apologize.

“I.. I was scared, okay..?” Tsuyu croaked, her small, shrill voice breaking more and more. “I was scared you’ll… push me away… s-so—”

“..So you pushed me away first?” You cut, not with a shout, no. A murmur. Small, hesitant, hurt.

With reluctance, she nodded, “I-I’m sorry.. I.. I was just..”

You stayed silent. Not because you didn’t know what to say, but the fact she was so clueless. Clueless that you like her back just as much, if not more.

You’d do anything just to hear her say she liked you.

“I like you too.” You mumbled, sounding more like a grumble. “I like you too, Tsu.” Just in case she didn’t hear it.

“H-huh..?”

“..I like you, ugh.. do I have to keep saying it?” You complained, throwing your head to the side.

And she giggled. That sweet little giggle you love so much, finally landing in your ears, for you to hear. Not Eijiro, not anyone, she giggled because of you once more. “Y-you do..?”

“Yeeess,” You sighed, combing your hair back in frustration, trying your hardest to hide the warm tingling feeling creeping up your neck. Your eyes glanced at her, covering her mouth as she giggled softly, the sound merging with the rain’s melody. God, all you could do was smile. As much as you refused to, your lips quirked up, smiling softly at her giggles.

“Happy now?” You grinned sheepishly, kicking the rocks beneath your feet.

“Mhm,” She smiled, stepping closer. Her hands clasped behind her as she did, eyeing you curiously from below.

Your eyes found her form once more, smiling at you as she stepped closer. Suddenly the rain fell warm on your cheeks, cold on your clammy hands.

With a puff of air, you pulled her close, hands wrapping by her shoulders and her waist.

Rainy days have always been Tsuyu’s favorite.

It may be yours too, now.

when window shopping at the mall with your boyfriend hanta sero takes a unexpected turn

contains: f!reader, minor drug use, established relationship, fluff

authors note: this is shorter than i wanted it to be </3

word count: 1010

⋆˚࿔ In The Near Future

hanta doesn’t know how he ended up here.

it was supposed to be a casual saturday with this favorite girl in the world.

when you suggested that the two of you take a trip to the mall, mostly so you could window shop, —while he secretly kept a mental note of everything that caught your eye for later reference —he had no right to say no.

and when you also suggested taking the edibles that had been sitting at the bottom of the junk drawer for two days and eating them right before the mall trip his heart melted. he’s definitely with the right girl.

okay, so maybe hanta does know how he got here.

but this.. this is new, uncharted territory for him. for the both of you.

hanta adjusted his half slouched position, careful not to possibly mess up the intricate stitching on the cushions or accidently stain the elegant rug beneath his beat up adidas sambas.

the room was fairly spacious. beside him a wide full length mirror, was two thinner mirrors protruding from its side— which he (correctly) assumed was used to check yourself out from multiple angles. two lights hung from the top of the mirrors, shining down onto the pedestal in front the mirror like a dedicated spotlight.

before him was a white curtain. and behind it—

“hanta..” you called from behind the mysteriously alluring sheet, sounding unlawfully similar to a sorcerer casting a lovebound spell.

he blinked out of his over observant trance, skin glowing warm as a reaction to your voice.

fifteen minutes ago, he was sharing a beautifully buttery soft pretzel with you. ten minutes ago you pointed out a particular shop, one he had never even noticed before.

“come on hanta! it’ll be fun!” you pleaded.

and call hanta a sucker (because he is one) but he didn’t even give it a second— or first, really —thought.

he’ll blame the weed for that later.

you spend a while with the consultant at the front desk where hanta learned that you’re a concerningly good liar.

and now here he was. long fingers pulling back the curtain in which you stood behind.

“help me with the back?” you glanced back at him, hair tossed to one side of your neck as you held the dress up in front to prevent it from slipping down.

hanta nodded cautiously, taking a careful step toward you.

“7 years?” hanta teased, recalling your conversation with the worker as he took a stance behind you. the familiar warmth from his hands instantly radiated your skin as he kept a firm, but delicate, grip on your back. his fingertips pressed into the blades of your shoulders and you heard a soft zurrrt admitting from the zipper.

you grinned, “call me a prophecy.”

a small laugh escaped hanta lips and your smile grew wider. you now realized how the edible made everything feel softer— like the edges of the world had blurred just enough to allow the good moments to sink in deeper.

hanta took a step back, hand slowly departing from you. his eyes scanned down your body slowly like he didn’t wanna forget anything about the way you looked right in this instant. “you—“ he paused to cough away the slight raspy in his voice, “you should look.” he gestured back out toward the spotlight of the dressing room.

you nodded, picking up the dress from its sides and waddling out from behind the curtain onto the lit up pedestal. when your gaze finally met your own in the mirrors reflection, you stilted.

the dress was simple, strapless, and effortlessly elegant— soft fabric flowing down in gentle waves that brushed the floor like a sea's daily meetings with its shore. lace details traced the bodice and edged the hem. the white fabric sparkled, like it was made to bask in the sunlight and flow to the rhythm of slow dances.

like it was made for you.

“woah.” your voice was submerged in awe. you were careful, ghosting the tips of your fingers over the material of the dress, not wanting to risk messing it up.

you’ve never seen yourself like this before, never really imagine it either. there’s a feeling of wonder fluttering beneath the surface of your skin, flickers of questions tickling your consciousness along with it. it felt so good in a way you couldn’t quite describe with just words.

“yeah.” hanta spoke up from close behind you. his eyes followed the trail of the wedding dress as he took a step closer, rubbing a hand over his mouth to hide the stupid grin spreading across his face. “am i supposed to be seeing this?” he joked lightly. his hands found themselves comfortably on the small dip at your hip, his head leaning beside your temple as he looked at you through the mirror.

“you’re not supposed to see the bride before the ceremony..” you played along, hoping it would help you calm down from the fact that you felt like an literal angel.

“hm, i see why.” hanta’s grip on you tightened, just barely. his voice dropped, coated in a soft layer of truth. “you look beautiful. so unbelievably beautiful.” he pressed a kiss to your temple, then the tip of your ear, and then took a step back. “now you gotta spin for me.” he said, grinning ear to ear. “come on babe.”

you rolled your eyes but complied, picking up the sides of the gown and granting your lovestruck boyfriend the full 360 view.

within a second, hanta’s hands were on you again, head buried in the crook of your neck as he held you close. you could feel the way his lips quirked up on your skin as he muttered a quiet, “insane.”

maybe this moment, this dress, belonged to some future version of you— to both of you.

maybe hanta didn’t know exactly how he managed to get with the girl of his dreams. and he definitely didn’t how he’d get to a more official version of this moment in the future.

and maybe this moment wasn’t destined or now, but it was for later, and hanta knew that for sure.

𓆜⋆˚࿔  — Sweet Creature

The sea is vast.

An immense home to mysteries yet to be unfolded. Depths of stories to be told, and songs to be sung. Yet other than that, the sea is brutal. Jaws ready to clench down on whoever shall puff up their chests and voyage upon it. Even more so, beyond all its mysteries and horrors, the great blue held beauties inside it.

One of them, was you. Your kind. Mermaids.

Folk of the water roaming the vast seven seas, keeping the ocean lively and chattering. Most of it was probably you. You could never seem to satisfy the itch in your tail to swim, swim, and swim—exploring every crook and cranny of the coral reefs, poking your head at every cave just to be chased out by a shark or an electric eel. Yet one goal in your mind was to collect; collect those trinkets which sometimes seem to descend from heaven above.

Sometimes a ring, sometimes a bigger ring, large enough to fit through your wrist, other times, it was smaller, weird-shaped, yet not less beautiful. Maybe this was the way gods provide you, yet you’re unsure. Just to be safe–and to admire them, you keep these findings safely in your small den of treasure. A sanctuary you had made for these glimmering and shimmering things to be praised upon.

Humans are what your kind calls them.

Those peculiar creatures on the land above, somehow surviving without water filling up their air. You wonder how it feels up there, is it… not water-y? It’s strange! Do they not want to move faster? Why do they have to move that way?

Clumsy little creatures, you find yourself giggling at their silly movements. So slow, so adorable. Maybe you could teach them to swim. Sometimes you wonder—why do your elders always call them so…

Dangerous.

Your thoughts could never go peacefully—sometimes a fish would run into you to interrupt it, or sometimes a fellow mer-folk needed your help in harvesting the ripe seaweeds.

This time, a small pebble had hit your head.

Plink!

☄. *. ⋆

“That–blige sucking buccaneer! I can ne’er catch a break!! What’re ya s’posed to do?! Throw away the whole ship?!” The boy grumbled, his eyes narrowed in frustration as his arms flailed forward to throw a small rock he had found.

“Why am I always at the blame?! He’s always speakin’ like he’s an old salt! We’re the same age, damnit!” He threw another rock, letting out a huff as his chin dug to his knees.

Plunk! Thunk!

At first the red haired didn’t notice it, kept his mouth rambling about the ship’s captain which he found oh-so frustrating, until–

Plunk!

“Ow—hey!!” His head darted to the back, yet finding no one.

“...What the..?” He muttered, softly now as if embarrassed for being angry at the air.

Then he continued, deciding to ignore the rock thrown to his head just now. His gaze met the water again, pouting as he picked up another rock.

“Can’t believe m’ stuck with em,”

He throws another one,

“if only a half decent job was here, I’d drag my ass out of this—!”

Then another one,

Plunk!

“Hey!!” Shooting up to his feet, he pointed to the ocean in anger. “Stop doin’ that, will ya?!”

But then a tail flicked up again, throwing back a pebble, this time hitting his chest. And now he was frozen in horror.

Eijiro was nothing but experienced. Three years of voyaging the sea, he’s seen almost all—fishes, birds, bird-fishes, but not this.

The tail was different, a large fish would be one thing but this? It was no fish. Not with those pair of curious eyes eyeing him from below the surface, grinning like he was the funniest thing in the world.

Without a second to hesitate, his first choice was to shout–yell, ducking down and scurrying his fingers as he found another larger rock, throwing it to the creature in fear, hoping that it’ll go away.

“Demon! Blasted—sea witch!!” He flailed his arm, his knees grew weak as he crawled back, a hand dragging him away from the dock while his other hand kept desperately throwing rocks, even grabbing handfuls of sand to the ocean.

“Get away!! Away, I say!!”

☄. *. ⋆

Is this why they say they’re dangerous?

You giggled softly, raising yourself up the dock while your hands propped up as you peeked your head up, smiling to the human. Your claws gripped tight to the wood as you waved a hand to him, at least that’s how you see them greet each other.

Goodness, he was so loud! It’s so amusing to see him shout around like that—was he trying to say hello? Perhaps you should shout back?

You opened your mouth, grinning as you shouted back, mimicking his sound.

Yet the color from his face just seemed to drain completely.

He spoke again, his hands came together as he knelt down to the ground. He’s funny, you like him. Why was he frowning? As much as you know—when your sister was frowning it meant she was sad, distressed. Did you do that to him? Goodness, that’s not right…

So you dug back down, splashing into the water while your eyes already trained to the direction you knew too well, to your den—the shrine of where you kept all your treasures. Maybe if he sees something so shiny and beautiful, he shall smile again! Yes, yes, you shall pick for him a gift!

Your fingers scattered on each tip of your glistening objects, then your eyes found the perfect one—a small, yet long, and shining, sharp ends, it reminded you of his teeth. Peculiar human, his teeth looked like a shark’s!

With a wide smile, you pridefully swam back with the treasure in your hands, surely he would love this, and cherish it! Your tail swished rapidly, until you found the same dock again, towering over the surface as you peaked your head out the water again, finding him curiously calling upon the water.

You reached out a hand, softly tapping on his shoulder.

☄. *. ⋆

“Gah–!!”

Eijiro threw himself back as the small yet sharp tap landed on his shoulder, his eyes darting from the creature’s face to her hand, still outstretched to him. Then it—she..?—smiled, grinning ear to ear as she lifted up a small fork, pointing to it while her eyes flickered from him to the fork.

“D-don’t eat me!! Please!!” He yelped, covering his face with his hands.

Then he heard a huff, some of that frustrated, disappointed huff as the creature placed down the fork, pointing to it with a small pout on her face, mumbling wordless noises as she pushed it to him, as if urging him to take it.

His hands slowly lowered, gaze turning to that of curiosity. “...For…me..?” He pointed to himself, face twisted into confusion.

Then she whined, throwing her arms up as she nodded, her finger pointing to him.

“...A fork…?” He chuckled, amusement filling up his voice. “You gave me…a fork?”

Then she nodded, still furrowing her brows in determination. “Fork, fork!!” Her finger still jabbing to the metallic object on the wood. “Fork!”

His lips finally curved up to a smile, chuckling again as he picked up the fork, “For me?” He asked, pointing to himself.

“Mm! Me!” She insisted, pointing to him as she nodded fervently, her eyes beamed with hope. “Me, me!!”

Eijiro chuckled, “No, not like that,” softly shaking his head as he slowly took her hand, though hesitating. He guided her finger to his chest, “Me,” then to herself, “You.”

“...Woo..?”

“No, silly, you,” He grinned, pointing to his mouth. “I’m Eijiro, you are…?”

“...Ah..?” She tilted her head, brows stitched back together in confusion. “E..row…?”

“Ei-ji-rou,”

Her fingers flew to her lips, touching them as if trying to mimic his movement. “Ee..jirou..?”

“Yes!! Yer gettin’ it!” He beamed up, nodding as he laughed in pride. “What’s your name?”

“...Yoo.. Eejirou,”

“Me…?”

“No, dummy,” Eijiro snickered, guiding her hand back to his chest. “Me, Eijiro. And you are…”

“Oh!”

She placed a finger on his chest “Eijiro,” then to herself, “Y/n!” Her grin was wider now, throwing her arms up in celebration as she twirled in the water, tail swishing up and down as she cheered.

“Eijiro! Y/n!!”

He chuckled softly, shifting himself to prop his arm up on his knee—his previous complainings forgotten so suddenly. Eijiro’s face bloomed a smile as he admired the silverware given by the strange creature, the surface reflecting back the orange hue of sunset. “Aye, Eijiro and y/n.” He hummed softly, drifting his gaze to the rejoicing new friend he had made.

☄. *. ⋆

The next evening there it was again, a fork. Bigger this time, seemed newer too. As the dock creaked softly under his steps, Eijiro chuckled while he bent down to pick up the fork, only to be met with a small splash to his face and the sound of a sweet giggle.

“Eijiro!” You called out, smiling at his shocked face twisting into a playful grin. “Fork! You!” You chimed up, a pride look sitting in your eyes as you swam closer.

“Aye,” He snickered, lowering himself down to sit on the edge of the dock, letting his feet hang down to the water. “It’s big this time,” Lifting up the fork to the setting sun, he turned it slightly, admiring it. “Big, lassie. Big” He repeated, grinning to you.

“Big?” Tilting your head, you furrowed your brows. “Big.. fork?”

“Yes,” He chuckled as he nodded. “Big fork, indeed.”

☄. *. ⋆

Waves brought many gifts upon the world, sometimes it was a small clump of corals, or sometimes bringing back what may have been lost. And so did you—you brought many gifts to Eijiro, a strange human whom you’ve made to smile. Nights you’ve spent with him by that same dock as he rambled on and you would nod as if you understood his words, yet you slowly did. You knew he was a pirate, whatever that was. He says he sails the seas, and that he likes to eat fish. You learned the word friend. That’s what he called you and other humans he knew.

One night, you returned again to the dock. Your heart thrummed with excitement with this gift. It’s the most-amazing-great-good one yet! A pearl cradled softly between your fingers as you clutched your hand tightly to your chest, pushing your tail a strong current to push you forward to that dock, where you could already see his feet hanging down to the water.

“Eijiro!” You piped up, beaming up from the water. “Gift, again! For you!!” Lifting the pearl up in the air, you swung it to his face as you shook it in front of him, which he chuckled softly in response. “What is that?” He asked, opening his palm for you.

“Uh…Ball!” You nodded, placing the delicate pearl to his grasp. “Shining ball!”

He froze as he eyed the small imperfect sphere, the moonlight danced upon the surface like rainbows. He breathed out a small huff of admiration, “...What..?”

“Oh no… Eijiro… don’t like..?”

“What?” He shot up, waving his hand around. “No, no! I like it, I love this, y/n”

“It’s a true beauty, lass. Thanks,” He smiled.

“Welcome,” You replied, propping yourself up the dock as you looked up at him.

“Where’d ya learn that one?”

With a proud smile, you pointed to him again. “Eijiro!”

☄. *. ⋆

“Hail up the sails, Eijiro!!” Katsuki’s voice commanded gruffly, his hand busy with sharpening a small dagger to a stone.

“Aye!” He answered, rope already tight to his hands, the familiar dull pain of the small shreds of the material digging into his skin as he pulled the rope with a grunt. For a brief second as he pulled the rope, his eyes caught a glimpse of the dock, empty and no one there unlike the previous night. His gaze fell to the small pocket in his pants, tucked away inside was the small pearl he had received. His grip loosens.

“Eijiro!! Don’t ya try to run a rig!!” Katsuki scolded.

“Aye, captain, apologies.” He mumbled, tightening his grip again.

☄. *. ⋆

The winds of the sea had never felt so familiar. As much as he said he hated being a pirate, he loved the sea. The seagulls whined by the air as the ship swerved through, the air slicing through the cracks of his fingers, thrumming by his ear as it blew by. The crew sang songs while they jumped around the deck, and he could only chuckle as he leaned against the wooden railings.

“Splice the mainbrace!” Denki chimed through, lifting up a glass of rum, its contents spilling over slightly as he did. “Eijiro, come join us!!”

“Now,” He smiled, “Careful, Den—don’t wanna be three sheets to the wind,”

Splish! Splash!

At first he didn’t notice it—the splashing noise beneath the ship’s smooth swerves.

Splish! Splash!

With the same smile he looked at Denki with, he flew his gaze to the water.

What in the…

Is that—... her tail…?

“Eijiro!!” Your sweet voice chimed.

His eyes widened, gripping the railings as he leaned down, trying to whisper-scream to you as best as he could, a finger over his lips. “Lass, ya can’t be out ‘ere!” He hissed, eyes darting back and forth from the crew to you. “Go away! Yer shark bait here!!” His hand waved away, pleading you to go and swim back.

“No, no!! I give you, a gift!” You smiled proudly, lifting up a small clam’s shell in your hand.

“I—that’s nice, y/n, but ya can’t be out here! Go!! Please!”

Then suddenly, Denki’s voice chimed behind him. “Woo!!” He laughed, slinging a drunken arm around the panicking boy.

“Eijiro found treasure!! Sea maiden, hoo!”

The crew scurried to the railings, whooping as they spotted your confused form still lifting up the clam shell. Eijiro’s eyes silently pleaded for you to go away while you had the chance, yet it was too late—not when Katsuki’s heavy steps came behind him.

Katsuki’s laugh rang through the air as he whooped, “Bring her up!! She’s worth gold, she is!!” He guffawed, shaking Eijiro with pride. “Bird’s eye, you’ve got, Eijiro!!”

“Wait—no, she’s not–!!”

“Hanta! Net!! The heavy one, that be!!” He commanded, pointing to the boy smiling widely near the ship’s stairs.

“Aye, captain!!” Hanta answered eagerly, saluting as he ran off to the ship’s hold.

“y/n, go!! Now, lass!! Please!!”

You froze, your smile stiffening as you saw the concern etched on his face. Your hand slowly lowered your gift, and before you could speak up again, the cheer of the crew and the shadow of a net descended upon you.

SNATCH!

What abomination was this? Every angle you looked at, there was no escape!

Your hands desperately clawed, chewed on the ropes, yet they were as good as steel.

Your tail hurts. Oh they hurt so badly, the metal scraps on the ropes sliced through your scales like small knives, to your shoulder, your back, everywhere.

A cry out of pain rang through the air, cheered on by the crew as they slowly lifted up your helpless form, heaving from your helpless attempts.

“Stop! Please!!” Eijiro’s voice shot through the cheer, yet unheard of. Hands slowly descended you onto the deck, sneering smiles lowering down upon you, and your eyes found him in betrayal.

“...Eijiro..?” You whimpered.

And yet he stayed still.

He… stayed… still!

Oh the irony. You’ve brought him many gifts, told him many tales, and shall this be how a friend treats the other? Your frown deepens as the crew slowly untangles you off the net.

“Get her into a barrel! I want her alive when we sell her off!! We’re feastin’ tomorrow, lads!!” Katsuki cheered, hugging Eijiro by his shoulder while the boy stayed silent. “You lucky bastard!!” He guffawed, slapping him by his side. “Capture us more of these fortunes, huh?”

Eijiro’s shoulder grew rigid. His jaw clenched as he watched the crew descend you into the ship’s hold.

☄. *. ⋆

That night the stars heard of the crew’s cheer and songs. Harmonica echoed through the air as drunken rejoicing rang to the skies. And yet, between Denki’s drunken dance upon the deck, Mina’s loud and ringing laugh, and Jirou’s cheerful harmonica plowing with songs, Eijiro sat by, throwing a small laugh at every joke, yet his eyes seemed distant from them all.

“What’re we doin’ tonight, lads?!” Hanta roared a smile, lifting up a chug of rum to the air as his foot landed on a barrel’s top.

“Feast!! We’re rich tonight!!” Mina cheered.

He’s had enough.

With a slap of his knees, Eijiro shot up to his feet, slyly making his way to the ship’s hold, where the sound of water from the ocean felt near, and the sound of your cries reached his ears.

Down by a corner there you sat, bare backed turned to him, your shoulders jolting at every sob and breath you let by. You had the clam in your clasp, thumb running over it gently as if mourning what’s lost.

You were mourning, a friendship lost.

Perhaps this is why your elders say they were dangerous after all.

“y/n,” He croaked, the wood boards beneath his feet creaking as he stepped closer. “I—I didn’t mean for this to happen, lass. Truth, I tell ya,” His voice was quiet, careful.

You stayed silent, breathing silently as you ran your thumb across the small dent of the clam shell again.

“I’m sorry, y/n… I—I told them not to—”

“You don’t help, Eijiro.”

“...You stay, you let them.”

Eijiro’s mouth parted to speak, yet no words came by or even flashed through his mind.

“You’re not a friend, Eijiro.” You, with all your imperfect words, spat venom. “You’re enemy, danger.”

Then you finally turned to him, your eyes dry from your tears, face bruised and messed up from the haste of the crew. They held nothing that he wanted, not that glistening excitement, not that wide cheer he’s witnessed every time you learned a new word, not that shine of hope he always found in your eyes—nothing.

Betrayal shot through your eyes like wind through his hair this morning.

“I—I’ll fix this, y/n, please I–”

“No,” You muttered.

“Go away,”

“Enemy.” Your voice was hoarse, a reward from crying day to night, while your hand gripped tighter on the clam, before you slid it across the wood to his way.

“Gift, now go.”

☄. *. ⋆

The night had fallen quiet, snores now caressed the cold air as the drunken crew lay asleep by the deck. Rum spilled all over the ship, yet no one cared to mop. Eijiro’s eyes lay awake as he stared to the sky, heart drumming against his chest while his eyes kept flickering to the stairs that descended to the ship’s lower level.

He’s sick of it. Sick of the feeling clawing at his chest like a beast. So he sat up, stumbling over crew members as he slowly made his way down, where you still sat there, the clam still sitting right where you had slid it across.

“...I’m sorry,” He whispered, kneeling down as he gently picked up the shell.

“I was not a good friend, lass.”

“Bad.” You muttered back.

“Yes, bad friend.” He smiled, a hand slowly reaching out to turn your chin to face him. “C’mere, lemme see what those scallywags did to ya,”

His fingers were warm across your beaten up skin, your eyes lingered to the ground before you reluctantly looked at him, a pout still present on your face.

He winced, “Those dogs,”

“They did ya rough, hm?” His thumb brushed gently across a bruise, earning a small whimper from you. “Sorry,” He muttered back.

A small pause fell upon the two of you while you stared at his dimly lit face, and he stared at yours.

Then his fist clenched, his brows furrowed as he pressed his lips to a thin line.

“I’m carryin’ you out, lass.”

Arose, he did. “I’m carryin’ you out.” He nodded, convincing himself as he lowered himself to you, a hand slipping beneath your tail while the other hoisted behind your shoulders. His touch was careful, cautious and fearful as if you were as fragile as a flower.

Slowly, the ship creaked as he stepped through, your tail dripping water as he tiptoed his way between his sleeping mates. Eijiro’s jaw was clenched at every small noise he had made. Afraid that he’d woken up his crew, or worse—his captain.

Just a little more, a little further to the edge, then he sat you down by the railing.

“Go, lass.” He whispered, hands gently keeping you in place by your shoulders.

“I’ll meet ya again by the docks, savvy?” His voice was soft, gentle, assuring.

“But—”

“I’ll meet ya again, y/n I—”

With a yank, a hand pulled Eijiro’s collar from behind. “Now, lass.” He smiled, pushing you off the railings before you could even reply.

“No!!! You— you dog!!!” Katsuki roared, letting go of his collar as he stared into the water, at the tail now swishing further away from the ship. “You traitor!! We needed that money, Eijiro!!”

With a frustrated grunt, Katsuki pushed himself off the railing, his breath heavy as he pointed a finger to Eijiro, “You— damn it!!!” Harshly, he yanked Eijiro by the collar again, forehead to forehead.

“Why the hell did you do that, huh!?” Katsuki seethed through his teeth, hot breath fanning to Eijiro’s neck, grabbing the collar tighter. With a snarl, he shook the boy. “Why?!”

“Ya did all that for what, lad? Huh?!”

“Just to please her pretty face and sweet words?! I swear—I’ll sink you down to the sharks, Eijiro.”

Finally, he let up. Letting Eijiro down on his feet again as he let go of his collar. A spit landed on Eijiro’s shoe, followed by Katsuki’s gruff muttering, “I’ll flog you off in the mornin’, just you wait.”

A small silence fell before Eijiro spoke up, his tone dark yet brave.

“I’ll flog you off harder.”

Katsuki paused in his steps. Then turned on his heel, a finger sharply pointing to him. “Don’t test me, Eijiro.”

“Oh, shiver me timbers!! Ya’ve done worse, Katsuki!!” Eijiro shouted, throwing his hands up in anger.

“Eijirou,” He threatened, stepping closer.

Then the red one stepped closer too, a scowl as deep as the ocean.

Chest to chest. It used to be a form of celebration between the two, yet now, with scowls carved into the curves and crooks of their faces, it was war.

Eijiro pressed closer. “I’ll test ya, Kats.”

“I’d rather be fish food than be a coward.” Sneer Eijiro, his mouth twitched up to a small smirk as he pushed Katsuki hard.

The blond huffed, wiping his thumb beneath his nose as he turned away.

"I’ll punch yer face off. Pray that yer spine’s as strong as yer mouth.”

☄. *. ⋆

The sea hugged your skin again, caressing the small scars on your tail, your shoulders, your face—it kissed you like it always did.

Down beneath all the gurgles of the ocean, his voice echoed in your head—something you kind of understood.

“I’ll meet ya again by the docks, savvy?”

Your hands clasped around the clam again, its shell now warm from how much you’ve gripped it. Brows furrowing from confusion as you rose your head to the surface again, one last look of him, another voice was there.

It sounded like when you first met him—shouting.

So you swam back, back to where you used to always see him, back to where you learned those words, back to where it all began; the docks.

☄. *. ⋆

The sun kissed his face like a bastard. The cuts on his cheek and his lips felt raw under the heat. His fists felt raw, hot from all the punches he’s thrown. The pain on his stomach didn’t go dull as well, it still pinched him by the side sharply.

Katsuki didn’t look any better, nose bleeding with thick blood down to his lip, an eye half shut, swollen like a plum.

Eijiro scoffed with pride, his breath heavy as he shook his hands, not turning his face away from the gaze of the crew.

“If yer still gonna be yappin’ off my ear, I’ll flog you off again, red.” Katsuki spat, wiping his nose as he straightened up his back.

He stood tall, flexing his shoulders off as he cracked his knuckles. “Still didn’t regret nothin’.” A smirk played on Eijiro’s lips as he said that, his teeth seeped red from his gums.

“Idiot, that’s what ye are! Throwin’ off gold like it didn’t cost nothin’!!” Katsuki growled, jabbing his finger to Eijiro’s chest.

“Gold don’t talk and cry, Kats!!” He roared back, shoving Katsuki’s chest harshly to the ground. “Ya can’t just kill off a soul like that!! We’re pirates, we ain’t killers!!”

“We’re pirates,” Katsuki echoed his words, quieter now. “We ain’t saints either, Eijiro.”

“Damn right we’re not,” Eijiro growled, stepping forward, he towered over him. “But there’s a line, Kats. There’s always been a line.”

The blond huffed, throwing his face away from Eijiro’s glare while his own eyes filled with something other than anger, something remorseful. He stood up, pushing past Eijiro, his steps heavy as he trudged through the wooden planks. “Whatever, set course for home.”

The crew stayed silent, everyone still held their breaths from their captain and crew fist to fist since morning.

“Oi!! Hear me or not?!” He growled past his shoulder.

“A-..Aye, capt!!”

☄. *. ⋆

It had been two long days where you clutched the clam shell close to your heart, and not swam far from the docks. You waited for the same set of feet to dangle by in the water, or the same spiky-haired shadow to loom over you as you swam to the surface, yet he did not show.

“Frieeendd,” You drawled, groaning softly to the night air as you leaned your head to the dock’s soft wooden edges.

With a huff, you pushed yourself back into the water, splashing your tail softly to turn away from the water.

“Lass,” His hoarse voice called, tugging between a smile and a cough. While the sounds of his shoes dragged across the sand by his feet.

“E-..Eijiro? Eijiro!!” You beamed, smiling widely as you flapped your tail onto the water.

You waved your hand to him, drumming the dock as you giggled.

“Aye, the one n’ only,” He chuckled, broken and bruised. His legs stumbled as he slowly lowered himself down, groaning as his hand clutched to his stomach.

“You stayed, y/n.” He softly smiled.

Nodding, you smiled at him as your hand lifted the clam shell up. “Eijiro say.. come back,”

“So I wait,”

“I wait for.. friend.”

His grin grew, a breath of laugh passed through his lips as he gazed at you with tenderness. “We’re still friends?”

“Mhm!” You nodded.

“You, keep this,” You insisted, taking his hand to place the clam shell in it.

His smile passed to his eyes, “Thank you, lassie.”

“I love it,” He softly hummed, thumb brushing across the shell gently like it’s a treasure.

“Eijiro like? I have… uh… more! Yes, I have more!” You turned yourself to dip into the water, only for his hand to softly grip your wrist.

“No, no,”

“Stay, let’s uh… let’s just.. talk, hm?”

Your soft giggle rang through the air as you nodded, leaning your head down to the dock again as you looked up at him. A hand reached out to his bruised face. “You… uh…”

“What is… uh… oh, hurt! Yes, you… you’re hurt,”

He chuckled, ever the slightest, his face inched closer to your hand. “Aye, I did. Just a scrap.”

“Scrap?”

“Mhm, just… small hurt,” He smiled, simplifying his words.

“Careful,” You mumbled, your finger still slowly tracing his bruise.

With a nod, he responded. “I will, lass. I was fightin’ for ya, y’know?”

“For my friend.”

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

✮⋆˙— the gods favor you, mortals!

the gods sure are hard to please, yet these particular mortals have their interest.

ft. eijiro k., hanta s., izuku m., katsuki b., kaminari d., tenya i.

➤ masterlist!

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

Kratos smiles down on Eijiro and his persistence on being better, stronger. But not just for his own benefit, no. Eijiro seems to always push himself to the limit or even beyond just to improve himself so that he could help those around him. His ambition of being someone who can help others strikes Kratos’ interest. It’s not often the cruel and gruesome god sees someone using their strengths for something… beneficial. Sure, strength and murder? Expected, common even. But strength and kindness? Now that’s something he’s new to.

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

Hanta’s bright smile shone through the clouds to reach Dionysus’ eyes. He loved seeing his wide grin, it’s as if this human was made in his image, for his eyes to see. A laughter so loud it echoed in his ears like a melody. Hanta’s tendency to always crack jokes and the way he yearns to hear people laugh tugs all the right strings in Dionysus’ heart. How could he not? The mortal is the epitome of fun and madness, laughter and sorrow, all combined into the perfect mixture of lawful chaos.

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

Hera is tough, but her walls crept down for Izuku. The mortal devotes himself to the core. From the moment he cried himself to sleep for not having any specialties, till the moment he throws himself to danger in slivers of hope of saving his friend, she witnessed it all, and she smiled. Such a loyal boy, Athena had missed her chance in not favoring him simply because he looked weak. Look at him now! And even in all his glorious strength now, he still devotes himself to train, and better yet? That chin of his is always kept down, and his hands are always open for those in need.

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

Katsuki always had Ares’ name written all upon him, yet Athena saw him first. Fists and scowls were what Katsuki was, yet the goddess saw past that—she saw his ambitions. Beyond that fury and his burning eyes, Katsuki’s goal was to become what Athena exactly searched for; a warrior. Someone who aims for nothing but the best, and she basks in that. He does not stop for anyone, doesn’t give a second thought to act. Although some will view him as reckless, Athena’s eyes see consistency and certainty, and that’s exactly what she needs.

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

Thunder might be what Kaminari brings, but his name is not called upon Zeus’ lips. The boy strikes a chord in Hermes’ smile. The god swears he sees himself in the mortal, always jumping from place to place, with all topics to speak of on his tongue, as if he himself was the god of messenger. Hermes lives for chatterboxes—those people who exist and people shall smile, and not just that, he lives for someone who will always be there for everyone, in joyous celebrations or quiet mourns; and Kaminari ticks those boxes and more on his list.

✮⋆˙— The Gods Favor You, Mortals!

From the moment Themis laid her eyes on Tenya, she knew the boy pleads for justice in his very breath. His whole existence was built by himself upon order and equality, even his motivation to become a hero was to bring justice to his brother’s name. Justice does not caress the heart, yet it brings satisfaction to those who have lost. Themis’ lips curled into a smile as the mortal who so badly upheld his reputation of being someone who shall avoid violence at all cost. And yet, when grief sliced his tongue like a bastard, he did not scream for mercy—he called for justice, for her.

Short Drabble For Tomurararara :)

“Happy birthday,” You chuckled, tipping your shot glass, the clear golden liquid swirling softly inside it.

“I bought some new games, Tomu.” A huff of chuckle escaped your lips as your gaze fell to your glass, your hand idly swirling the alcohol in it. "I bet you'll like it."

Then you looked up, a bitter smile gracing your lips.

“You'll never age, huh?”

Your eyes meet his framed picture, that same sulk on his face, his crimson eyes that always seemed to peer into your own's, that same messy white hair framing his face, eyes sunken deep into his skull. Just how you remembered him.

Just a sliver of him, a memory of what he was. Stuck in time.

Maybe if the world wasn’t so cruel, you’d meet him in another path. Maybe, just maybe, in another life, he’d be smiling at you right now, and you’d clink your glasses together to laugh about your lives.

Maybe in another life, he'll age.

The Sports Festival was the first time you saw him. That lopsided grin present as his name flashed on the screen. Your first thought was how funny he looked. Sure, he’s cute, but those elbows are such a characteristic. You couldn’t help but snicker a bit. Seeing him get absolutely devoured by a certain two-tone haired, yet that smile persisted, as if it’s a stubborn stain, refusing to be washed away.

You remember that time, texting Kyoka about it.

[ 12:30 ] you : was that guy from your class lol [ 12:30 ] you : he’s kinda cute :P

And maybe that was the trigger point.

When Higari asked your class to create a gear design based off of a quirk, you didn’t sketch out a gear for yourself, or a pro-hero, no. Maybe it was just inspiration, or maybe just admiration; but you made a gear based off of him. The page is still stuck in your notebook until now, complete with little notes of each parts’ functions and whatnot. Even Higari himself nodded in approval. Yet the gear never came to life.

Or so you thought.

It was the middle of the semester when students in the heroics course started flooding the workshop. Around that time Mei seemed to work tirelessly day and night from how many requests she’s gotten from them. You were not much different, although the requests sent to you were quite a bit easier. Then one morning, that same lanky figure, lazing grin and laid back voice was present. In flesh, Hanta Sero.

His first awkward greeting to you was when you were carefully screwing shut a small contraption.

“Hey uh…” He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck while his other hand was holding something, like scraps of metal or something.

“C-can you help me uh… fix this?” His grin grew, a look of guilt present in his face, mixed with sheepishness.

Your face contorted to confusion, brows stitched together while you attempted to figure out what was supposed to be fixed when all he held out was scraps of metals and screws.

With a sigh, you lifted up your goggles, and said; “I can’t fix scraps,”

“I’ll just make you a new one. Just describe to me what your gear’s supposed to do.” You chuckled, hands already snaking to the table to grab your notebook and pen.

And now here you are. Second year, second semester. You had grown close with the girls in the heroics course, especially Mina and Kendo, since they visit the workshop a little bit too often.

It was lunch time, you sat with the girls from 2-A, chattering and laughing about.

“How about you, y/n?” Tooru’s voice chimed through your daze. “You never tell us anything!”

You raised your eyebrows in interest, a hum to respond.

Tooru giggled, “You never tell us who you’ve got your eyes on! Come onn, there’s gotta be someone, right?”

You blinked.

Someone..?

You huffed a chuckle, “Nah, probably someone soldering iron right now.”

But then your mind flickered to that one page in your notebook. That lazy grin and those cheesy jokes he’d throw around while you measured his elbows, and how you’ve somehow memorized his blazer’s smell that always reeked of tangerines. Or maybe how he sometimes would bring your favorite snack with him, giving it to you as a token of gratitude.

Your eyes fell to your tray, your lunch still half eaten while your chopsticks hovered over your rice. “I dunno,” You shrugged. “M’ not really thinking of that stuff right now,”

Mina whined, “See? I told you! It’s hard to get y/n’s mouth to open about these kinds of stuff!”

A smirk tugged at your lips as you took a portion of rice into your mouth, chuckling at her acts.

༉‧₊˚.

You hummed to the song playing in the workshop as you carefully placed a small chip into the gear laid in front of you. A small tweezer pinched in your hand as you slowly descended the small piece, only for the door to open with an ear-cracking holler.

“yyyyy/nnnnn” Hanta’s voice whined, his feet dragging him to your desk.

“My gear broke, again! Such horror…” He dramatically collapsed himself, placing a hand on his forehead as he handed out his wrecked gear.

You stifled back a laugh, rolling your eyes as you focused your attention on the gear on your desk again, carefully placing the chip.

“You do this every week like it’s a routine,” You chuckled.

He gasped, placing his hand on his chest. “Foul creature!”

He stood up, pointing his finger to the sky while his lips twitched to a smile. “I must tell you, this gear is simply not able to contain my true power!”

“Falling down the stairs is not true power, Han.” You grinned, screwing shut the gear as you examined it one last time.

“...Okay, fine I dropped it.” He huffed, “But it just means your work needs to be evaluated!” He argued, pacing back and forth as if lecturing you.

“You’re one to talk,” You snorted, setting aside the small gear to a box before turning your chair to face him, to face his stupidly grinning face.

He laughed, getting on his knees as he handed the gear on his palms to you like it’s an offering. “Pleaseeee, pleaseee, fix this, pleaasee?”

With a roll of your eyes, you snatched the gear, placing it on your desk for the umpteenth time, your hands already readying the same screws, bolts, and everything the gear needed, already embedded into your memory like it’s your mother’s recipe. “I don’t even have to ask what’s broken anymore, Han, it’s that often.”

“Hey, it makes your job easier, riigghtt?” He nudged your shoulder. “Besides, it gives me an excuse to see you, don’t you miss me sometimes?” He asked, pulling a chair to sit.

You smiled, hands pausing on the gears casing as you were unscrewing it.

“I guess,” You mumbled.

He chuckled, the sound coming out more like a shriek more than anything.

“I gueeess” He imitated, you can even hear him sticking out his tongue at you. “Lying is bad y/n. Admit it. Your workshop feels dead without me,”

“I like the quietness better, actually.”

He giggled, “Ouch, man, here I thought we were long lost siblings.” With a creak of the chair, he leaned to your desk, eyeing you from the side. “I’ll pay you back, ‘kay?”

“With what?” You chuckled, eyes fixed on the gear.

“Banana milk,” He snickered, “And maybe if I’m feeling generous I’ll also buy you those steamed cakes you always eat since our first year.”

“The fuck?” You snorted. “You remember that?”

He pssh’ed, “Duh?”

“You eat that shit like it’s a reward every time you’re done with like… five gears or something,”

Glancing sideways, you couldn’t stop the grin tugging at your lips. “You’re weird.”

“You love me,” He teased, pushing himself to stand up from the chair. “Those steam cakes are ass, you’re weird.”

You mumbled a mock to him, sticking out your tongue as you reached out to grab a mold from the drawer.

His steps receded as he laughed, hands buried in his pocket while he walked backwards towards the door.

“I’ll get the original flavour,” He yelled. “Byeeee,”

Clack.

An hour and thirty minutes.

It took an hour and thirty minutes for you to finish that damned gear. To be exact, an hour and thirty minutes after you’ve finished the other gears before that. With a small groan, you stretched your arms above your head, your body’s slouch finally stretched out to fix your posture.

07:30 P.M. — The clock blinked, red bold digital numbers as if reminding you to stop and close the workshop for the day. So you did.

With a soft click, you locked the workshop’s doors, sighing softly to yourself while your other hand clutched your bag, keeping it on your shoulder. The floors of the building squeaked with the rubber soles of your shoes as you dragged your feet, echoing against the empty building.

Tucked away carefully in your bag was the reason. His gear, you even painted it in his signature colors; white, black, and yellow. Maybe that was the reason your clothes smelled like fresh paint all over, but you didn’t mind. You’d stuck a small note on it, written in your handwriting;

‘Don’t break this one >:(‘

The conversation from earlier rang in your mind again. Tooru’s sweet voice chiming that casual question, but somehow it bugs you a bit. “Come onn, there’s gotta be someone, right?”

Someone.

You chuckled softly to yourself as you mindlessly made your way to his class, no need to remind you again; his desk was third from the back, second from the right.

With a small noise, you placed down the gears, securing it into his drawer before you silently made your way out of the dark, empty classroom, then making your way to your dorm.

༉‧₊˚.

“Jeez,” Hanta muttered in awe, carefully examining the gears now resting on top of his desk. His grin grew as he saw the note, an expression—that of amazed and amused. His thumb grazed carefully over it, as if afraid to smudge it.

Even the colors were spot on, too, his colors. Small details you had implanted to the gear—maybe it was to ensure that he doesn’t break it again, or maybe it was just your way of evaluating your work. Either way, he finds himself grinning from ear to ear as he chuckles, looking at his newly fixed gear. You’d put an additional hole on the strap so he can adjust it more accordingly, the edges were smoothed out so that it sits comfortably on his arms.

“Shut up,” He laughed, the sound coming out more gentle—awestruck, adoring.

༉‧₊˚.

Knock knock knock! — The workshop door opened slightly, creaking as a shuffling sound made its way into the room. He’s right behind me, isn’t he.

“Moooorning,” He sang out, shaking the plastic bag in front of you.

“Banana milk, and steamed cake. Just how my favorite mechanic likes it.” He placed the bag beside your arm, “Yooouu’re welcome,” Pride laced his voice.

God, all you can do is smile, as you slowly peeked your hand into the plastic bag, peeking inside with the exact things he said. “You know you don’t have to do this aaall the time, right?”

“I know,” He shrugged, rocking back and forth on his heels. “But I wanna,”

“...You’re just bribing me,”

“I’m for reeaaaalll”

“...Thanks, Han.” You hummed, smiling softly as you reached into the bag, unwrapping the small steamed cake. The plastic rustled against your fingers as you tried to open it.

“You suck at opening shit,” He snickered, snatching the cake from you, ripping it open before handing it back to you. “Hm, eat,”

You blinked at him, feigning offense. “I was getting there.” You said, chuckling.

“Sure you were,” he teased, plopping down onto the nearest stool like he owned the place. “At the speed of a dying turtle.” The noise he made next was ugly. Imitating a grandma talking.

“Screw off,” You giggled, sticking your tongue out at him but took a bite anyway.

He watched you, arms crossed and chin propped on the edge of the worktable, eyes all full of mischief and… something else. Quieter. Warmer.

“You should smile like that more often,” he said out of the blue, his smirk faded into a small smile.

Your chewing paused. “…Like what?”

He leaned back with a stretch. “Like you actually like me.”

You shot him a look. “Han—”

“Kiddingg!” he grinned, holding his hands up in surrender. “Juusst kidding.”

After a small pause, he spoke up, “I gotta go now, my first class is heroics,” Hanta smiled, slapping his palms to his knees as he stood up.

With his hands in his pockets he walked to the door. “Byyyee, don’t miss me,”

“Oh, and finish the cake, it was super expensive.”

It had been like that for a little over a year now. He’d come to you, whining about his broken gear, begging on his knees for you to fix it—and every time you did so, you threatened him to never break it again or you’re not fixing it ever again. But that never happened. Every time he whined back to you, you’d fix it, no matter how much you groaned about it, you still fixed it for him. And he’d come to you the next morning to bring your favorites; always the same banana milk and steamed cake.

And honestly? It stuck to you. It became a small little routine for you, something you’d grown used to. But today—after yesterday’s little chat at lunch—it felt special, somehow. It felt like he saw you, like he…

…cares about you.

But that was just a silly thought.

You snorted.

Hanta’s nice. That’s what he is, nice, friendly. Welcoming to everyone, and you were no exception.

༉‧₊˚.

God, these projects show no mercy. And if you weren’t that much of a procrastinator, maybe these wouldn’t be stacked up into a bundle that you had to finish by tomorrow. A small grumble left your lips as you tweaked the final blueprint, scratching down the stiff paper before huffing a small celebration, rolling it up to tuck it behind your desk.

The clock showed the time—06:30 P.M.

Ugh. You missed your show again. With a small sigh, you stepped towards the door, rummaging through your pocket to ready the keys and lock the door.

Clack. The door closed, the lock clicking softly as you turned it to the right, jingling before you stuffed it back into your pocket.

“Like you actually like me.” His joke echoed.

His joke.

You brushed it off, even though a small smile tugged on your lips as you adjusted your bag over your shoulder, steps light towards the exit.

Wait. Is that…?

Standing by the gates was that same lanky figure, tall and lilt, hair slicked from the rain while his laugh echoed through it. You almost smiled, almost laughed at his face. Almost. Before you saw her. A small girl standing next to him, smiling so sweetly at him while his blazer was draped over her, fitting and perfect. The same blazer he usually draped over your shoulder when the workshop felt too cold, and he felt too warm. The one that had a small twinge of oil stuck to its cuff. The one that smelled like tangerines.

He said something. Something that made her laugh. And he smiled at that. He smiled at her laugh.

Like he was proud of it.

You felt your chest twist. Scrunched up and stretched. The rain wasn’t making anything better. The fact that you’re tired and pent up from today made everything worse.

So you ran.

You ran past them, bag over your head as you picked up your pace, your face was wet, and cold, not just from the rain. You hoped he didn’t see you, didn’t see that grimace you had on your face, didn’t see the way you bit your lip. But you hoped he did. Hoped he saw you.

The streets were blurry by the rain, thunder clapping above your head as you ran to the dorms. And you slipped. Slipped just enough to make you drop to your knees and scraped your palms. You groaned in frustration, in hurt.

So all this time you were just his fixer upper? Cool.

༉‧₊˚.

Two weeks.

It took him two weeks to notice something was wrong. Sure, you still fixed his gear, although he didn’t break them this time. Said they were ‘too pretty’ to be broken, but even that didn’t earn your usual witty remark, you just smiled faintly to him.

But he brushed it off.

Maybe you were just tired, maybe his trick of ‘breaking’ his gear was starting to piss you off. Maybe he needed a new excuse to see you other than fixing his gear.

Maybe you were growing tired of him. Naaaahhh. No way, jose.

You like his company, you enjoy being around him. He sees that, he sees you.

…But why were you pulling away? Did he say something? Okay maybe he did throw a small offensive joke. But you always laughed at that! So what was wrong? What was so wrong that you’re not even laughing at his jokes? His actions? Him?

Okay, fine. Whatever. Maybe you just needed some space.

So he gave you that.

But the moment he came into the workshop shaking your usual banana milk and steamed cake combo, and you rejected that?

“I’m good, Han. Thanks.” You replied. Blunt, short, precise, to-the-motherfucking-point.

Oh he screwed up. He screwed something up.

“Oh, uh..”

“Okay, I’ll uh… give this to Denks then, dude eats everything.” He chuckled awkwardly, the plastic rustling by his side.

“Mhm, okay.”

Shiiiittt he’s so screwed.

You didn’t even chuckle, and that’s how he knew.

༉‧₊˚.

“They hate me. They hate me so bad. I’m killing myself.” Hanta whined to his pillow, Kaminari perched by the edge of his bed.

“They didn’t even CHUCKLE at me, Den.” He groaned, his muffled voice cracking as he threw his arms up.

Kaminari sighed, arms folded as he glanced at the ravenette. “You’re being dramatic, Han.”

“No I’m not!” He protested, shooting up from his bed to sit up. “I’m not, okay? I just—I don’t know what I did, I just—...” He sighed, flopping back into his bed, groaning as he ran his hands over his face. “I don’t wanna lose them, Den..” He mumbled in a trembling voice.

“Then tell them that.” Kaminari shrugged, a chuckle on his lips as he scooted closer, patting Hanta’s thigh.

“...How?” He croaked back. “I don’t even know what I did wrong, dude I just…”

“Two weeks ago we were fine, I even made risky ass jokes to them and they laughed! And when I was lending that girl my blazer—”

Kaminari whistled. “Bingo.”

The bed shuffled as he sat up, head darting to Kaminari’s way while his mouth hung open. “Shit.”

“Go, Han.”

༉‧₊˚.

The halls of UA had never felt so… suffocating. He’s been here before, like hours like these too. Just now he feels like he’s risking his life as he stares at the slightly cracked open door of the support course workshop. His steps felt heavy, like lead weights dragged through the ground, and his mouth felt dry, like water had never touched his tongue, and suddenly the plastic bag in his right hand felt too plastic-y. The faint tune of your favorite song was humming through the air, as well as the consistent whir of the sanding machine.

As he slowly pushed the door open, the creak felt loud—too loud. Loud enough for you to dart your eyes to the door and paused your hand. His throat fell dry, drier than before.

“H-hey,” He grinned. It felt too wide, too stiff. But he didn’t care.

You held your gaze on him for a moment, brows furrowed, and he swore even when he couldn’t see your eyes through your goggles, he felt your stare pierce through him.

The sanding machine came to life again, louder this time as you ducked your head back to the gear in your hand. “Hey,” you mumbled back, not bothering to look at him.

“I uh…”

“I wanted to talk to you,” He chuckled, stepping just a bit closer, his hand gripping the plastic bag tighter.

Perhaps his portion of response from you had run out. You stayed silent as you continued sanding the casing of the gear, stopping briefly to examine it.

“...Y-you’re mad, at me, …I think,”

“And I uh…I just… I wanted to fix that, y/n.” He shifted his weight between his feet, chewing his bottom lip as you slowly paused the machine, setting it aside on your desk.

“Why?” You bluntly asked. Perching your elbow on your armrest as you lifted up your goggles.

God, you’re such a sight to him. Even angry and frowning at him like this, you took his breath away, if not more.

“B-because—...”

“I care?”

“I mean–! I care, I care, …I care… a lot,” He grinned again, nodding as if convincing himself before he cleared his throat, louder than necessary. “I care… I care about you, y/n.”

His gaze fell to the ground, pressing his lips into a thin line, he shut his eyes. “I…I made a mistake, okay? A-and… I hurt you, and I’m… real sorry, y/n.”

“...I don’t…wanna lose you,” He breathed that out, coming out barely above a whisper while his hand gripped the plastic bag tighter.

“Look–.. that one time, y-you saw me with that girl at the gate? S-she meant nothing, okay?”

“I just…wanted to be nice,” He muttered quietly, almost as if in shame.

“You’re always nice, Han.” You blurted, finally opening up your voice. It felt cold, different from what he was so used to hearing. “You’re always nice to everyone, aren’t you?” Your voice shook.

“...You probably think this is stupid, I don’t care.” You spat, your voice held a small tinge of anger in it.

“You made me think that you… you liked me, and—”

“Because I do.”

The words hung there, waiting for your response as the air conditioner hummed through the air.

“I…I do like you, y/n.”

“A lot.” He whispered quietly, his arms swinging in nervousness as he chewed on his lip, suffocated by the silence you answered with.

You stared at him.

Not just because he was standing there, but his words rang to your ears. It was what you wanted to hear. That confession, that maybe he cared for you for a reason. And he did. He did care for you for a reason.

“For a long time now, okay?”

“I—... I don’t even know when– I just–...”

He sighed. “I just… really like talking to you, I like how you understand my dumb jokes, and you even—...it’s dumb, but you flirt back when I do, okay? And that shit was hot… for me.”

He groaned, wiping his eyes with frustration in his movements, throwing his head back as he stammered; “I’m screwing this shit up– I’m..”

“y/n I’m just… sorry,” He said, finally looking at you. Hints of tears threatening to fall down his cheeks while he stared at you with desperation written all over his face.

“Please don’t… don’t leave,”

And you wanted to cry, and laugh, at the same time. Cry because you’ve never seen him like this, because did he really just lay his heart bare to you? Laugh because God he looks ridiculous right now. So desperate, so sad, if this was a less serious moment, maybe you’d pull out your phone and record him.

So you smiled, “I like you too,”

“H–..What..?” He croaked back, his voice unsteady as he looked up at you again.

“I like you, Hanta, I like you, back.”

He breathed out a laugh, finally smiling after what felt like his face was stretched down to the earth for the past few minutes, he grinned, running his hand through his hair. “You– what?”

Ahem. “Okay wait, pause—”

“C-can I–..?” A hand reached out to you hesitantly, sheepish and nervous, twitching slightly as if scared you’ll break if he touches you.

Slowly, you reached back, enveloping your hands into his, letting him slowly pull you into his embrace. Warm, quiet, and… smells like tangerines. A small giggle escaped his lips as he brought his hand up to your hair, carefully caressing it. “Shit, I’m so— happy right now,”

His heartbeat was fast, shinkansen speed-kinda-fast, you heard it as you slowly buried your face to his shoulder, your arms awkwardly wrapping around his waist, and you couldn’t help but smile widely, nuzzling yourself into him.

“I thought I messed this up, I swear— like, real bad, y’know?” He murmured into your hair, a hand gently resting over the line between your hip and waist. “I thought I lost you,”

With a swift motion, he took off his blazer, carefully resting it on your shoulders, as he wrapped his arms around you again.

“S’ yours now,”

“...What?”

“My blazer—...your blazer.”

You giggled, lightly pinching his shoulder. “Shut up,”

“Hey come on!” He chuckled, “I’ll even trademark it for ya,”

You grinned against his shoulder, arms wrapping just a bit tighter around him.

“C’mon, I know you looovee me that much, but I know you’re also hungry,” His hand nudged your arm with the plastic bag, “I brought my favorite mechanic’s favorites,” He hummed out.

“Steamed cake and banana milk.”

He grinned. “Just how you like it,”

And in the warm, quiet thrum of the workshop, under buzzing lights and the soft scent of sawdust and tangerines, it finally felt right.

Like home.

you wrote this so beautifully like actually. it's gorgeous, like WOW mind blown

tell my mom we're in love | h. sero

fake dating wasn't on your holiday to-do list—until sero invited you home for tamales and chaos (3525 words)

Tell My Mom We're In Love | H. Sero
Tell My Mom We're In Love | H. Sero
Tell My Mom We're In Love | H. Sero
Tell My Mom We're In Love | H. Sero
Tell My Mom We're In Love | H. Sero

you regretted this the moment you stepped out of the dormitory and into the sharp chill of mid-december air, a duffel bag hanging off one shoulder and your dignity already teetering on the edge. trailing beside you was hanta sero, practically vibrating with the smug energy of a man who had just talked his best friend into making the worst decision of her academic career.

and technically, he had.

somewhere between his mother's increasingly invasive matchmaking attempts and his inability to say the word "no" like a normal person, he'd decided the solution was to invent a girlfriend. and of course, of course, he'd chosen you.

"come on," he said now, as a cab idled at the curb, white exhaust curling into the crisp air like smoke from a slow-burning disaster. "tell me this won't be fun. just a little bit."

"i think i'm too emotionally aware to find this fun," you muttered, hoisting your bag into the trunk as he leaned beside you with his usual careless grace.

sero grinned—that unbothered, insufferably pretty grin that always made it harder to stay annoyed with him for long. "emotionally aware, huh? sounds like you're already getting into character."

you leveled him with a look. "if i'm your girlfriend, you're going to need to stop flirting like a golden retriever with a god complex."

"babe," he said, slipping into the backseat beside you with the kind of unearned confidence that should have come with a warning label, "flirting is literally how i survive in social settings. don't take this from me."

you stared out the window, hoping the freezing glass would cool the creeping warmth crawling up your neck. "we're not actually dating, hanta."

"right," he said, and he sounded amused, not wounded. "but we could be really good at it."

you didn't answer. he didn't press.

the cab pulled away from the dorms, and for a moment the silence between you was companionable, like it always had been. you'd known sero for years now—long enough to understand that his laid-back demeanor was as real as it was performative. he was the kind of person who made a room feel lighter just by being in it, but who also knew the weight of silence better than most people ever would.

he didn't make you feel like you had to be anyone but yourself. and that, unfortunately, was the root of the problem.

somewhere along the road from "we're just friends" to "please pretend to be my girlfriend so my mom stops trying to marry me off," things had started to shift.

not all at once. not obviously.

but they shifted.

now he was dozing beside you, his head tilted toward your shoulder, and every bump in the road made him inch closer. you should have nudged him off. you should have drawn the line.

but you didn't.

instead, you studied the soft lines of his face—the relaxed set of his mouth, the faint crease between his brows like his dreams were just a little too fast for his thoughts to catch—and you wondered what the hell you'd gotten yourself into.

by the time the cab slowed, the sun had dipped low, casting golden light over a neighborhood that looked far too idyllic to be real. sero's house was two stories of warmth and welcome: string lights curled along the porch railing, a wreath hung slightly crooked on the front door, and smoke drifted lazily from a chimney that promised something warm inside.

standing at the threshold was a woman with sharp eyes, a kind smile, and the unmistakable aura of someone who could both bake you cookies and emotionally destroy you in the same breath.

sero's mother.

you froze.

he didn't.

without hesitation, sero leaned in, brushing your hair behind your ear like it was the most natural thing in the world. his voice dipped just low enough for only you to hear. "smile like you love me."

then he reached for your hand.

his fingers, long and warm, laced effortlessly through yours.

you didn't pull away.

and that was the moment—standing at the edge of his childhood, your fingers locked in his, heart skipping in the kind of rhythm you weren't prepared for—that you realized you were in far more danger than you thought.

because part of you didn't want to let go.

the cab hadn't even rolled to a full stop before sero's mom was standing in front of it, arms crossed, eyes already locked onto her target like a seasoned general. you had seen pictures, sure—sero had shown you a few over lunch one day, swiping through images of his mom with an almost reverent fondness—but none of them did her justice.

she was radiant. that was the first word that came to mind. not in some soft, dreamy way, but in the sharp, unmistakable warmth of someone who had mastered the art of existing unapologetically. she had a scarf looped carelessly around her neck, dark hair pinned up with wisps escaping, and that immediate, unnerving energy unique to mothers who know everything before you say a word.

"hanta," she said brightly as you approached. "you took forever, mijo. i was about to call."

and then her eyes slid to you.

her whole face changed.

"qué linda," she said, stepping down toward you without hesitation. "you're even prettier than the pictures."

you opened your mouth to answer—say something polite, maybe even charming—but instead you were pulled into a hug so warm and familiar you forgot how to speak altogether.

she smelled like cinnamon and butter, like café and home. her arms wrapped around you without hesitation, solid and reassuring, and you blinked twice before realizing she wasn't letting go just yet.

she pulled back, hands on your shoulders, eyes scanning your face with curiosity. "how old are you, mija?"

"seventeen," you managed. "ua student. same class as hanta."

"top twenty," sero chimed from behind you, proud and useless.

his mom smiled wider. "good. you'll need that to keep up with him. he talks too much."

"i'm right here," sero said, offended.

"and what's your quirk, sweetheart?" she asked, guiding you inside like she owned every molecule of the house—which she probably did.

"just a luck quirk," you replied. "it's not anything big or flashy."

"flashy's overrated," she said. "flashy gets you on magazine covers, but smart keeps you alive. hanta could use some of that balance."

sero made a wounded noise. "i'm right here."

you stepped into the house and tried not to gape. it was warm and lived-in, with mismatched furniture and soft lights, and framed photos in every direction. you passed at least three different versions of baby sero—one with cake on his face, one dressed as a shark, and one in a tiny suit looking like he'd lost a bet.

you were immediately ushered to the couch, where sero flopped down beside you like he'd done this a thousand times. his arm stretched along the back of the cushions behind you, easy and casual, but you felt the heat of it like a brand against your neck.

his mom sat in the armchair across from you, one leg crossed, hands folded, expression deceptively pleasant.

"so," she said. "how long have you two been together?"

"six months," you and sero answered in unison.

your eyes met. you both smiled.

it was practiced, but god—it didn't feel like a lie.

"how'd you meet?" she asked next.

sero leaned forward like he was telling a secret. "training. she beat up kaminari. i've never recovered."

you tried not to laugh. "he followed me around for a week."

"i was courting you."

"you were loitering near vending machines."

"i was being persistent," he corrected. "it worked, didn't it?"

his mom watched you both, eyes narrowed just enough to make you sweat.

"and what do you like about my son?" she asked you, suddenly.

your mouth went dry.

sero glanced sideways, surprised.

but the answer came easy.

"he's reliable. and funny. and he listens—really listens. like you're the only person in the room."

you could feel sero's eyes on you, and the room felt warmer than it had a second ago.

"he's easy to be around," you said, a little softer now. "i feel like i can breathe near him."

a long silence stretched across the room.

then sero bumped your shoulder with his own, voice low. "you're not supposed to make me blush in front of my mom."

his mom smiled, pleased. "i like you."

you smiled back, because how could you not. "thank you."

"i made tamales," she said, rising to her feet. "sit tight. i'll get you a plate."

"do you need help—?" you started, half-standing.

"no, no. you're a guest. you sit and let yourself be adored."

she vanished into the kitchen with surprising speed.

the moment she was out of earshot, you collapsed sideways onto the couch.

"i blacked out," you whispered. "what did i even say?"

"that i'm amazing and you love being around me," sero said smugly.

you shot him a look.

he leaned a little closer, voice dropping. "also, you were adorable. you didn't have to go that hard. i almost forgot it was fake."

you didn't answer.

⊹ ࣪ ˖

dinner came after a comfortable lull in the afternoon—just enough time for you to grow used to the house's warmth, the quiet hum of kitchen sounds, and the sound of sero humming to himself as he helped his mom plate tamales. there was something undeniably domestic about it—watching him lean over the counter, sleeves pushed up, swiping a bit of masa from the corner of a dish with a grin when he thought no one was watching.

you caught yourself watching.

a little too long.

and when he turned around and caught your eye, offering you a wink that made your stomach stutter—you looked away, pretending to study the wall like it had secrets.

the house filled slowly with more noise, more feet, more voices. by the time dinner was ready, the table was surrounded by people—his siblings, all younger, all chaos incarnate. there were five in total, ranging from what looked like barely ten to maybe sixteen. all of them clearly adored sero, and all of them clearly had a thousand questions about you.

"are you really his girlfriend?" one of the younger girls asked, blinking up at you from her seat at the far end of the table.

sero, already sitting beside you, reached for your hand under the table without hesitation. "of course she is," he said easily. "she puts up with me. that's gotta mean something."

you glanced sideways, surprised by the way his thumb started tracing circles into your palm. his fingers were warm, his grip relaxed, like this was a habit and not a performance. your first instinct was to pull away—but you didn't. you let him hold on.

"do you like him?" one of the boys asked bluntly, somewhere between a dare and a test.

you looked over at sero, who was already looking at you.

and the smile that spread across his face wasn't teasing. it wasn't even smug.

it was soft.

"i do," you said honestly. "he's easy to like."

one of his sisters actually swooned.

their mother returned from the kitchen, a stack of warm plates balanced in her arms. "aye, look at you two," she said fondly, setting down the food. "you look like you've been married five years already."

sero snorted. "that's because she already tells me what to do."

"someone has to," you said, nudging his leg under the table.

his knee pressed into yours and didn't move.

the meal began in full, voices rising over each other, stories flying back and forth like birds across the table. tamales were unwrapped, passed down, devoured. rice and beans steamed in bowls at the center. someone spilled horchata and got teased for it for fifteen minutes straight.

sero kept his hand under the table the entire time.

sometimes on your knee. sometimes brushing your fingers. once, briefly, resting on your thigh with a touch so casual and confident you forgot how to breathe for a second.

"so how did you know?" his mom asked halfway through the meal, raising an eyebrow. "that you liked each other, i mean."

you blinked. "um."

sero didn't miss a beat.

"she made this face at me once," he said, totally serious. "during training. right after i got my ass handed to me. and i thought—yeah. i'd let her ruin my life."

you choked on a sip of water. "that's not what happened."

"you raised your eyebrow," he insisted, "like i was both impressive and pathetic. it was very motivating."

"you were bleeding."

"romance is about timing."

the table erupted in laughter.

"you're ridiculous," you muttered, but there was no bite to it. you felt lightheaded from smiling too much.

his younger sister leaned over the table toward you. "you make him less annoying," she said seriously. "he's, like, way less weird with you here."

"he's still weird," someone else muttered.

"hey," sero said, deeply offended. "i'm the glue of this household."

"you're the glitter glue," one of the boys shot back. "unnecessary and all over everything."

the conversation swirled, but it was warm. easy. you felt like you'd slipped into a rhythm you hadn't known you were missing. sero's family didn't make you feel like an outsider. if anything, they treated you like a permanent fixture—like they already liked you, just because he did.

and sero—he kept looking at you.

in the quiet moments between bites. when you laughed at something his brother said. when you wiped your fingers on your napkin and he passed you your drink like he'd already anticipated you'd reach for it.

"you're really good at this," you whispered during a lull, leaning in.

"at what?" he asked, voice low, chin tilted toward you.

"this," you said. "pretending."

his eyes flicked down to your mouth, just for a second.

"what can i say," he said quietly. "i'm something of an actor."

you snickered.

and then his mom called your name from across the table.

"you like dessert, mija?" she asked, already bringing out the plates.

you blinked twice before answering, forcing a smile. "of course. thank you."

sero didn't look away from you for a long time.

dinner had long ended. the noise had faded. sero's house, once pulsing with overlapping voices and clattering plates, now thrummed with a different kind of energy—low, contented, quiet.

his siblings had scattered, full-bellied and sugar-sticky, off to bedrooms and couches and wherever else they disappeared to in the evening. someone had turned on a dusty old playlist in the den, and the soft hum of vintage boleros curled through the walls like warmth that refused to die.

you stood in the hallway between the dining room and the back door, hovering in the in-between of things: of conversations and thoughts, of what was real and what had only started out that way.

you weren't sure what to do with your hands.

or your heart.

sero appeared beside you like he always did—quiet-footed and comfortably close, smelling faintly of soap and masa and something sweet from dessert you hadn't caught the name of. his sleeves were still pushed up, revealing his forearms, and you hated that you were looking at them. not because they weren't worth looking at—they were—but because it meant your guard was down. again.

"come on," he said softly. "balcony?"

you didn't answer. you just nodded and followed.

the air outside was sharp and clean. the kind of cold that wakes you up without being cruel. you wrapped your arms around yourself more out of instinct than discomfort. the balcony was small, with a windchime shaped like a lizard hanging from the overhang, and a view of soft suburban rooftops and yellow windows scattered like lanterns across the horizon.

you leaned against the wooden railing. he did the same.

neither of you spoke.

you were too full of the evening. of tamales and laughter. of too much touch under the table. of words you'd said with a smile that weren't lies—but weren't supposed to be true either.

the problem wasn't pretending.

the problem was that pretending didn't feel like pretending anymore.

you didn't know when it had changed. maybe it was gradual—each time he laced his fingers through yours without asking, or rested his hand on your thigh mid-story, or offered you a grin across the table that was so familiar, so soft, you forgot why you were here in the first place.

but it hit you now, standing beside him in the chill—this unshakable, irreversible knowledge:

you were in love with him.

god, you were in love with hanta sero.

not just in a surface-level, crush-colored way. not just in the i-like-how-he-makes-me-laugh way. it was deeper than that. older. something that had snuck in when you weren't looking and taken root so quietly you hadn't noticed until it was everywhere.

you were in love with the way he held space. with the way he listened without trying to fix you. with the way he let the world land on him lightly, and still carried it in both hands when it mattered.

you were in love with someone who didn't even know you weren't faking anymore.

you exhaled.

"you're quiet," he said, not looking at you. "regretting it already?"

you shook your head. "no. it's just... weird how easy it was. with your family."

he hummed. "they like you."

"they liked that i made you less annoying."

"that is the highest compliment in my house."

you smiled, faint. "they're sweet. loud, but sweet."

"you kept up fine."

"i think i blacked out for half of it."

"you were golden," he said, softer now. "you always are."

you turned toward him slowly.

the lights from the kitchen spilled faintly through the curtains behind you, catching just enough of his face for you to see how relaxed he looked. how present. how close.

you swallowed.

"hanta?"

he looked over at you, brows raised. "yeah?"

there was a beat of silence.

"i don't know how to lie to you," you said.

he blinked once.

then again, slower.

"what?"

"i mean," you continued, hands curling around the edge of the railing. "i've been trying. all day. and i thought i could. i thought i could pull it off—play the part, pretend—but then we got here, and your mom hugged me, and you touched my hand under the table, and i just... i don't know when it stopped being a bit."

his eyes searched your face like he was looking for something he'd already lost.

"hanta," you said again. "i'm in love with you."

his face froze.

the air between you seemed to still. the windchime didn't move. the whole world narrowed into this one pinpoint moment, bright and fragile and terrifying.

he stepped back—just barely.

"you don't have to keep pretending," he said. carefully. cautiously. "no one's watching anymore. you can drop it."

you stared at him.

"i'm not pretending," you said.

another beat. a sharp exhale.

his lips parted slightly. his brows furrowed, not in confusion, but in disbelief. in the kind of fear that came from wanting something too much and being afraid to reach for it.

"you're serious."

"i've never been more serious about anything in my life."

sero let out a long, shaky laugh. it cracked halfway through.

"say it again," he whispered.

"i'm in love with you."

and this time, you reached for him.

your fingers curled into the fabric of his hoodie, and you felt the moment he melted—slow and overwhelmed, the way something melts that's been cold for too long.

"you've got to be kidding me," he muttered, leaning into your touch. "i thought—god, i thought i was the only one losing my mind over this."

you smiled, eyes stinging.

"you weren't."

"i've been in love with you since second year," he admitted, voice breaking a little. "you kissed my cheek that one time after i carried your books back from the nurse's office, and i nearly died. like, actual cardiac arrest."

"that was a year ago."

"welcome to my long, slow descent into insanity."

you laughed, quiet and ridiculous.

and then he kissed you.

it wasn't rushed. wasn't showy. it wasn't a fireworks-and-credits-roll kiss.

it was the kind that happened in doorways, in hallways, in quiet rooms where hearts beat too loud. the kind that changed nothing and everything all at once.

he kissed you like he meant it.

you kissed him like you'd been waiting your whole life to.

when you finally pulled apart, his forehead rested against yours.

"you're real?" you whispered, breath catching.

"i better be," he said. "otherwise you've just confessed to a figment of your imagination."

you swallowed a grin.

his thumb traced your cheek.

"i thought this would end in disaster," he said quietly. "that pretending would ruin everything."

"and?"

"and now i don't want it to end at all."

you leaned in, bumping your nose against his.

"then it doesn't have to."

he smiled, and kissed you again.

not like he was pretending.

like he was home.

HIII I FREAKJNG LOVED THE TAMAKI X PREGNANT READER SMM CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE MORE IT WAS SO CUTEEE MAYBE

“Tama, just hold her!” You chuckled softly, watching as your husband trembled while his eyes were fixated to your little daughter now snuggled in your arms.

Himari was what he muttered out when you held her, his hand shakily touched her cheek, pulling it back rapidly as if she was going to disintegrate. You kept on nudging him to hold her himself, but he just kept refusing, scared that his hands were too sweaty to hold the small baby. Eventually though, he did cave in, nervously opening his palms as you gently handed the small bundle to him.

A soft sigh of relief escaped his lips as he held her, softly rocking her as he shushed her. A small smile crept up his lips as he giggled softly while his eyes gazed oh so lovingly at her.

“...She’s beautiful,” He mumbled softly, a hand coming up to move the cloth out of the way of her face. All that while his finger brushed upon her soft little cheek, earning a small whine from her. He smiled, the same smile you've seen him with at your wedding day.

You could only chuckle at the sight, Tamaki kept on softly mumbling praises to the small baby, something along the lines of, ‘I’m so happy you’re here, hm?’ or ‘You did such a great job, I’m so proud of you.’

⋆˚꩜。

Time never did know rest. It felt like yesterday you were still swaddling Himari, shushing her cries and waking up in the middle of the night because she was hungry. Now, here she was, hair still damp, tied into a small ponytail with small clips adorned her hairline, her elementary uniform still a little bit too big on her. She smiled widely while Tamaki carefully adjusted her collars, on his knees.

“Don’t be afraid to talk, a-and make new friends, okay?” He smiled, tidying up Himari’s bangs.

She nodded, “Yes, dad!”

“And if anyone is being mean to you, tell the teacher, okay?”

“Yes, dad!” She nodded again, jumping on her feet.

Tamaki smiled, kissing her forehead gently as he stood back up.

“Can we go noww?” She pleaded, clutching her bag strap while her other hand tugged at Tamaki's arm.

You chuckled softly, walking over to press a long kiss to both her cheeks, earning a whine from her as well as a small giggle. As you stood up, a gentle tug was calling by your waist, pulling you to your husband’s embrace. He smiled, brushing his knuckle over your cheek before softly doing the same as he did to Himari, then muttering a soft goodbye. “I’ll be off, angel.”

the purple-haired boy perked up at the dinging of the door, announcing a customer's arrival. as he looked up, a grin graced his face upon his eyes landing on the love of his life.

he chuckled to himself as you began to browse through the records, pretending like you weren't there to greet your boyfriend.

"can i help you?" he asked, walking up to you and leaning against a nearby crate containing music.

"looking for something to impress a cute boy," you replied with a soft grin, still pretending not to know him.

"oh, yeah? what's he like?" he inquired, playing into your game.

"y'know, purple hair, quiet, kinda grunge vibes, works at a radio store, that kinda stuff," you describe your boyfriend, continuing to browse through the records.

"hm. he sounds familiar," shinso comments, trying to see how far you'd go with this bit.

"yeah? maybe you know him. maybe he works with you," you playfully suggest, finally going to look at him.

"yeah, maybe," he laughs softly before gently pressing his lips to yours.

꩜ — Strictly Business, Perhaps.

Papers rustle by the glass top of the table, along with the sound of typing on the keyboard. Tenya sighed, clattering his glasses onto the table top, he pinched the bridge of his nose. The documents didn’t seem to end, his stomach was rumbling, churning, and his head was spinning.

“Goodness..” He complained silently, propping his head upon his hand as his hand ran through his hair.

The silence of the small office was broken briefly by the glass door opening, then closing again. Your form stood there in a bit of awkwardness, sensing the boss’s not-so-pleasant mood. Clutching the clipboard, you cleared your throat softly.

“Mister Iida, I-It is lunch time already, would you… like for me to order your lunch from the restaurant on the ground floor?” You carefully asked, keeping your tone hushed.

He sighed, nodding before he stood up while straightening his clothes and his tie. “Please do, y/n. Thank you very much.” He replied, his voice husky and hoarse, while his hand perched his glasses back on to his nose. Tenya cleared his throat once more, and he stayed like that for a moment, while you nodded, turning your back to him as you reached for the door once more.

But then you turned back around again, “Oh!” Your index finger plucking up to the air. “And, would you like your usual orange juice to go with it as well, mister Iida?”

And finally, his stiffened cheeks frozen from the day’s work twitched up to a smile, a huff escaping his breath. “Yes please, y/n. Thank you very much.”

˚୨୧⋆.˚

The scent of broth and the steam of rice greeted Tenya’s lungs, warmth replacing the dull cold air from the air conditioner. He smiled faintly, tilting his body to the side from his computer, meeting your form teetering on your feet while you carefully ushered the tray in your hands to his table.

“Thank you so much, y/n. Right on time.” He sighed, clearing the space on his table for the tray to be placed down to.

You smiled softly to him, chuckling softly as you carefully placed down his lunch in front of him. “Perhaps I know my boss too well.”

That earned a small laugh from him as he picked up the spoon and fork from the side of the tray, the utensils clinking to each other as he unwrapped the napkin wrapping them. The faint smoke danced around the air, before slowly seeping into his nostrils again, and he could only sigh with a smile.

“Perhaps you do.” He replied, smiling warmly at you from above his glasses, which you only replied with a soft chuckle and a sway of your body.

You cleared your throat, pulling yourself back to the ground. “Is there anything I can help more, sir?”

He shook his head, already dipping his spoon into the clear broth of the soup. “No, no,”

Then he paused.

“How about you, y/n? Have you eaten?” His head looked up from his lunch, a finger adjusting his glasses again to see you clearly, his brows furrowed a bit in concern. Which you responded with a nod, “Mhm, already have, sir.”

He nods, “Good, good.”

“I’ll excuse myself then, sir?” You reassured again, bowing slightly to him.

Tenya grinned, nodding as his hand gestured for you to exit the room. “Yes, thank you again, y/n.”

˚୨୧⋆.˚

For goodness’ sake, can this project finish itself? Were the man’s thoughts as he typed furiously on the keyboard. It seemed like the proposals needed for the project seemed to be endless, and he couldn’t bring himself to ask any help from you. Though that was what his fingers are twitching to do right now. His thumb hovered over the phone button on your contact as he debated his choices.

On one hand, it’s already almost midnight, and you had gone home way long ago. He needs some help, and Tenya swears if he were to type another letter for another corporation to ask them to sponsor this massive charity project, he’s going to blow his office into shreds. On the other hand, it’s Friday. Which means you’re probably having some week-end routine, which he does not dare to interrupt.

What if you were on a date? Goodness, it will be such impoliteness to disturb your night.

What if… you were trying to have some fun with your friends? Well he wouldn’t want to barge in now, won’t he?

What if you were already asleep?! Oh goodness that would be such a fuss..

Or– or…

“It’s just a call, Tenya.” He huffed, grumbling to himself while his thumb hesitantly pressed the button.

It took a couple of beeps from the line to finally connect to yours, and a small shuffling sound was heard before your groggy voice hummed in confusion, answering the call.

“M...Mister Iida?” Was what you managed to croak out, your voice nervous and hazy, a small sigh of sleepiness could be heard from your side of the line.

Tenya scolded himself mentally, chewing on his lower lip in panic as he stammered a few vowels. “Oh goodness, y/n, I-..I’m… so very sorry…” He softly apologized, sighing in regret. “I didn't mean to wake you… j-just go back to sleep, y/n,”

“I’ll inform you about this in Monday..”

Your voice could be heard mumbling from the other line, chewing your tongue to wake yourself up. “It’s fine, sir… is there anything you need help with…?”

He shook himself, standing up from his seat as if he were to chide you in person. “No, no.”

“Sleep is essential, y/n. I apologize for disturbing your slumber.”

There was silence for a moment in the call, only faint buzzing from the phone repeating upon his ears as he nervously waited for your answer.

“Mmkay sir, g’night…”

And with that, the line hung up. So did his arm, hung to his side as he sighed to himself, hitting his forehead with his palm repeatedly in frustration.

“Stupid, stupid, stupid..!” He grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose. “It’s almost midnight, of course it’s bedtime!” He huffed, straightening his back, tugging down his shirt to straighten it once more as he sat back down to his seat, creaking it in the process.

He propped himself again, hovering his hands over his keyboard, and for a second–he stayed like that, somehow unsure of what to type to the proposal.

Ahem.

He propped himself up again, straightening his back, preparing to type.

…but your voice kept echoing, taunting him from the back of his head. That soft, sleepy little goodnight replaying again and again in his ear, clear as day.

˚୨୧⋆.˚

You walked into the office as per usual the Monday, the few previous night’s little disturbance slipped way out of your mind. But one thing never did; checking in on your boss to inform him of his schedules today. Except… weird.

The disciplinarian Tenya Iida had never been late before, and even if he were ever late, it was late to his own clock. Yet today seemed to be the latter. Tenya Iida, the infamous early bird, your boss, is not to be found in his office. The glass door is still locked, waiting to be opened by his ID card. And so you walked to your cubicle again, placing down your tablet to the table as you rummaged your pocket of your phone, swiftly swiping to his chat room.

꩜ — Strictly Business, Perhaps.

It took him a good five minutes before his typing animation popped by the side of the screen, three little dots jumping up and down before his message got sent;

꩜ — Strictly Business, Perhaps.
꩜ — Strictly Business, Perhaps.

Weird. You thought again.

You had been working for this busy man for too long to know the man doesn’t even need alarms to be able to wake up to his schedule. Even if he did, hadn’t his body already memorized the time he has to get up?

You shrugged it off, fingers already pressing the numbers to the restaurant to order your boss’s breakfast.

Precise, as always. Ten minutes later, the familiar blue haired man walked into the office, his glasses sat slightly crooked upon the bridge of his nose as he scattered himself into his office. You chuckled at the sight, standing up to catch up to him in his office. With a small knock on the door, it unlocked from inside.

“Good morning, sir.” You greeted, pushing the door with your back as your hands both carried his breakfast; warm egg toast, and a glass of orange juice. “Have you eaten breakfast?”

Tenya stiffens. The sound of his rustling fabric stopping immediately as you greeted him. “M-morning, y/n,” He replied, his slight voice crack immediately covered with him clearing his throat. “I.. have not..”

Ahem. “H..how’d you know…?”

You chuckled, setting down the meal to his table, before setting your hands to your sides, “I figured it’s hard to think of breakfast when you are running late, sir.”

Then he grinned. Not the classic professional grin he had always worn, it was… sheepish, almost shy. Tenya’s voice rumbled lowly as he chuckled. “Thank you, y/n.”

With a smile, and a nod of acknowledgement, you excused yourself to take your tablet. As you walked back in, he was still tying his tie, swiftly folding it around his neck while you opened your tablet to swipe to the calendar app.

Tenya’s back turns away from you as he comes to face you, giving a hum or two as you explained his schedules for today, while sometimes adding somethings in between like; “Oh, that one is cancelled.” or “I think that one is prolonged, y/n. I forgot to inform you.” And you’d nod, typing swiftly on the keyboard or tapping and swiping to edit the schedule for today. So with your morning routine finished, you excused yourself once more, exiting his office to return to your cubicle.

And now, Tenya was alone in his office, once more. Your steady and intonated voice is gone, replaced by the constant humming from the air conditioner. He glanced at the breakfast you had left him. With awkwardness, he shuffled his way to the table, sitting down to carefully unwrap the sandwich—as if he was being watched. As he chewed, he scolded himself once more.

How could he have been so out of discipline? He is the boss! And here he is, being late.

With a huff, he slapped himself on both cheeks. He chugged down the orange juice, setting the plate and the glass aside to switch the computer on.

And then he remembered one thing. The one thing he tried to ask of you that night. He needed help typing those pesky proposals, his fingers already felt way too numb on the keyboard, and his head couldn’t even think of any more pleasing words for those sponsors. So he did, with many nerves, but he did. His fingers already remembered your cubicle phone’s number, and it beeped by with ease. Your voice answered almost immediately.

“Hello?”

“Y/n, uh… may I ask for some favor from you?” His tone cautious, almost as if he was concerned he had disturbed your peace.

“Oh, Mister Iida. Of course, sir. What is it?”

He cleared his throat, swaying left and right on his spinning chair. “Could you please… help me in writing some proposals for the upcoming project, y/n…?”

“Oh! Of course, sir. Would you need me to come to your office?”

Then he stayed silent. Glancing to the small couch by the side of his office as he contemplated the choice. “...Sure, that would be great, thank you y/n.”

“I’ll be right with you, sir.”

And right with him you were. With a soft knock, the door unlocked from inside, allowing you to enter in once more. You clutched your laptop in your hand, carefully stepping into the quiet, isolated space.

Tenya smiled, gesturing his hand to the couch. “Have a seat, y/n.”

“...I’m very sorry for asking your help on such a short notice,”

You chuckled, waving your hand dismissively as you set down the laptop on the couch. “It’s alright, sir. It’s my job.”

With no further ado, he cleared his throat with a grin, explaining to you what he needed you to help with, as you propped up your laptop upon your lap, typing in his requirements and points needed to be included in each proposal.

The two of you went on with silence as you both got to work. Broken only by the rhythmical tap of yours and his keyboard, and his occasional ahem’s. You would sometimes peek glances at him from the corner of your eyes, and as the day progressed, his tie loosened more and more. You couldn’t help but smile faintly at the sight.

Him too, did so. Everytime you would unconsciously hum that one tune from a song, or mumble out the words you were typing in, he’d sneak a glance at you, smiling softly to himself before snapping his head back to the computer. Because God forbid you look this cute up close. Wait what?

By the last ‘thank you for taking the time to read this proposal’ you typed onto a document, the sky had gone dark, and so did the outside of his office. The clock shows 08:45 PM. You stretched your hands up, groaning softly as you cracked your head to the sides. With a stifled yawn, you swiped around your touchpad.

“I’ll send the proposals to you, sir.” You informed him, your voice had lost its professionalism long ago, now you only had your hoarse and croaking speech to offer.

Tenya’s head shot to the side to look at you. He sighed as he twitched up a grateful smile. “Thank you so much, y/n. I’m very sorry to be keeping you this late.”

Your lips pressed up to form a thin smile, as you slipped your laptop into its sleeve, standing up from the couch, a small dent left upon it from how long you sat there. “No need to apologize, mister Iida. I am only doing my job.”

As you slung your bag over your shoulder, you bowed to him once more. “I’ll be excusing myself if you have nothing left for me to help you with, sir.”

Tenya hesitated. He opened his mouth, then closed it. But then he opened it again, “Wait,” His voice croaked, his hand stiffly reaching out to yours before he stopped it, immediately pulling it to his side again. He cleared his throat, watching as you turned around again from the door.

“L-let’s walk together to the exit, hm?”

Blink blink.

“Sure, mister Iida.” You smiled.

“Tenya,” He mumbled, walking to your side.

You tilted your head in confusion, “Hm?”

“Tenya, y/n. Just call me Tenya.” He softly repeated, smiling as he tapped his ID card to the reader beside the door, earning a small beep as the door unlocked for the both of you.

He opened the door wide, nodding his head to the side to gesture you out.

You smiled, clutching your laptop sleeve as you walked slowly past him, “Thank you,”

“...Tenya.”

Goodness. A name should not have sounded that good on your lips, but the way you said his made his back stiff and his arms rigid. He couldn’t help but huff out a laugh, cracking out a grin as he closed the door behind him, walking beside you towards the elevator.

Small silence fell upon the two of you, one that you had grown familiar with. Tenya wasn’t the type to make unnecessary small talk if it wasn’t needed for hospitality. You and him were strictly, professionally business. A boss and his secretary. At times like these, you would sometimes grab the opportunity to update him on his schedule for the day tomorrow. But tonight was different, that silence felt… different.

The elevator dinged, and he once again allowed you to enter first. With a nudge to his glasses, he cleared his throat as he stood beside you, subtly shifting his weight from feet to feet after he pressed the elevator button. The faint hum of swing jazz and the aroma of air freshener made it almost dramatic for you to be this nervous. You wanted to open your voice to inform him of his upcoming reviewing deadline, but how the heck do you just call your boss by his first name?!

“It’s alright to call me by my name, y/n.” He croaked out, his eyes lingering on the elevator buttons as he chewed slightly on his bottom lip.

You stiffened. “Oh– um… well, …T-tenya,” And he smiled.

“I just wanted to inform you that you’ll have some new… recruits to review, sir.”

He nodded, his soft smile still not leaving his face as his gaze lingered on you a moment longer, broken by the elevator door opening. His arm stretched out to hold the door, gesturing for you to walk out first, as he mumbled a small, “Alright, remind me that tomorrow, hm?”

You nodded, “I will, sir.”

Tenya’s steps fell soft upon the marble floors as he exited the elevator, and you bowed.

… “I-I’ll excuse myself then, sir.”

“Tenya, y/n.” He tuts, gently reminding you.

And you chuckled, almost shy. “Right, right.”

“I’ll excuse myself. …Goodnight,”

“...Tenya.” You softly added, turning on your heel to make your way to the front exit. Your shoes made haste.

All of a sudden, everything felt slightly crooked on his body. Tenya’s knuckle nudged his glasses up his nose, his hand tugged on his coat, combing back his hair, goodness that stupid smile that crept up his mouth from the moment you turned away even felt too wide now.

He cleared his throat again, drifting his body’s direction to the parking lot, a hand over his mouth, and the night’s cold air had never felt so warm on his face.

Stop it, stop it, stop that, Tenya!

This is your secretary you are smiling about! Your secretary!

His steps quickened to the parking lot, his loafers trudging about onto the concrete floors as he rushed to his car, beeping it twice before he entered it like a man trying to hide from his assassin.

Hands gripped onto the steering wheel, and with a long sigh, he started the engine. The car chirped around as he turned the key, and his radio switched on automatically. Sure, he wasn’t the type to listen to songs that much, yet this one just crept up into his ears. An old love song with its classic guitar melodies, lounging on about love is unexpected.

˚୨୧⋆.˚

At last! All the months of preparation and lobbying guests around the building, typing out proposals after proposals, staying back at the office until a few extra hours, the project’s done. It was the day. A charity event, held to fund scholarships for students around Japan. To say it is a success would be an understatement. The event had made itself known to the news, being casted upon to multiple news stations.

Safe to say, Tenya was beyond proud that his hardwork now paid off. He grinned widely. Upon his hand, perched up a small champagne glass, swirling around with his small motions.

“You look dashing tonight, Tenya.” You called from behind, cutting through his thoughts.

He immediately spun around, eyes wide and scattering as it looked for you. When they did find you, he may or may not have forgotten how to breathe for a moment. If having you in blazers and loose collared shirts wasn’t enough to make him short circuit, this definitely does its job. The way you had done your hair so effortlessly, yet so enchantingly, and how the soft glimmers from the chandelier made your eyes sparkle, not to mention the formalwear you had chosen for tonight fit a little bit too good on your body. His smile came out strained.

“Ah, thank you.” ahem. “You look… incredible tonight, y/n.” He managed to reply.

And then you chuckled, and goodness it sounded so melodic to his ears, breathless and light.

Tenya’s hand pushed his champagne glass to his mouth, sipping the clear bubbling liquid into his mouth to distract himself from the rising rhythm of his heart beat.

“You look super proud tonight.” You teased, a small smirk as you nudged him lightly by his arm.

This time it was his turn to chuckle, pursing his lips into a smile. “I couldn’t have done… all of this without your help, y/n.” He said, motioning his hand to the lively ballroom.

Before you could even reply, Tenya was barged around by his friends, congratulating him on his accomplishment of successfully hosting the event. As his hand got dragged away by them, he casted one last look to you, pressing up a pitiful grin as a silent apology, which you replied with a chuckle and a wave of your hand.

So now here you are. In a bar. In between these people you barely know. Sure, some of them were actually your friends, but they were too busy celebrating the success. Others? Eh, maybe you greet them in the hallways in the mornings and evenings, but that was all. They laughed and giggled drunkenly. Singing and dancing together with their blazers loose, while some of the women only chatted by the counter.

By the edges of the laughing men, there Tenya sat, his tux already disheveled, his hair loosen down to his flushed face as he laughed about some joke that probably wasn’t that funny. Then his eyes spotted you, making him stumble a bit until he reached you, grinning from ear to ear.

“Goodness, y/n…” He slurred out, leaning against the counter. And you couldn’t help but laugh, seeing your usually strict and discipline boss now all loose and giggly.

Then he leans. Perhaps a little too close to you. Yet you didn’t mind. You didn’t mind when he swayed, pointing to your face, smiling stupidly with his alcohol reeked breath. “Youu…”

“You are… so amazing, you know that…?”

Hm?

Come again?

You waved your hand as you chuckled, looking away to hide that small flush of pinkness on your cheeks. “I think you’ve had way too many for tonight, sir.”

“S’ Tenyaaa,” He whined, leaning closer to you. “Stop calling me sir, y/n…”

You stifled back a laugh, rolling your eyes as you sighed. “Fiine, fine,”

“Tenya, I think you’ve had your fair share of alcohol for tonight.”

He leans his head to the side, pushing the counter with his weight. His eyes downcast and hazy, he smiled softly to you. “You think so?”

A small chuckle escaped your lips as you shook your head. “I know so, si—Tenya.”

The table scraped softly as you pushed a small glass of water to him, clinking the glass with the back of your finger. “Maybe some water would do you good.” You smiled, nudging the glass once more to get his attention to it.

Then he smiles, leaning his head upon the counter with his arms below his chin. His eyes hazily looked into yours, as if he was…admiring you. His smile grew before his hand reached out, moving away a loose strand of hair off your face. It was soft, gentle, tender. Something you would never expect from the stiff and professional Tenya Iida. From your own boss.

His touch lingered a moment on the side of your cheek, he tucked his hand away again beneath his chin before he spoke, “You…”

“How are you this radiant…?” He murmured quietly, head tilting just slightly as he narrowed his eyes in awe.

The loud and chattering bar seemed to quiet down at that moment, while the heat in your cheeks rose up. You cleared your throat, pushing the glass towards him again with your face turned to the other way. “Drink some water, Tenya.” You reminded, brushing him off.

A low chuckle was what you heard, along with fabric shuffling softly as he stood up again, still leaning to the counter top. “You’re ignoring me.” He said, amusement lacing his tone.

“No, I’m reminding you, Tenya.”

“...You’re caring for me,” He smiled. Sure, you weren’t looking at him, but that small change in his tone was recognizable. Yet this one wasn’t really heard much by you. It was small, subtle, yet there was a tone of admiration in it. Like someone saying ‘Aww’.

You scoffed, turning your head to look at him again. “I always do,” Well maybe you shouldn’t have said that.

Ahem! The bar stool croaked through the floor as you stood up, collecting your bag and coat.

“I’ll be calling that a night, Tenya.” You slipped out a small greeting, smiling to his still-leaning form.

His face dropped to a small frown, almost a pout. “You’re leaving…?” His question sounded more like a weak plea. Disappointed and sad about your farewell.

You chuckled as you zipped your bag up. “Yes, Tenya.”

“Tomorrow I still need to be in the office.” You teased, tilting your head slightly as you smiled at him.

“...I also need to be in the office, I’m your boss.” He scoffed, his tone cocky and proud.

“Exactly,”

Putting your coat back on, you rattled the keys of your car in your hand, sinking it into the pockets. You clutched your bag, straightening up your posture while you brush yourself off before bowing to him. “Goodnight, Tenya.”

“...Get home safe, okay?” You smiled, turning away to walk towards the exit.

Darn you and your soothing voice. Darn you and your smile. Darn you. His gaze stayed pinpointed on you even as you opened the doors of the bar to exit it, walking with that pace he’s grown to know too well. Steady steps with sureness, like you always had somewhere to be. The smile crept back onto his face. His gaze drifted back to the glass of water as he huffed a chuckle, grabbing it into his hand before sipping it.

With a slow shake of his head, he let out another chuckle, softer this time.

“Little minx.."

HII LOVE YOUR TAMAKI WORK SM ALSO I WAS WONDERING IF YOU CAN DO TAMAKI X PREGNANT READER LIKE CUTE LITTLE

Tamaki had always been the pretty nervous one in your relationship. Hell, it was such a sight to see him all flustered on your first night after your wedding. He couldn’t stop apologizing and turning his head away, although his eyes did betray glances to you as you lay atop of him.

And now here you were, sitting on the toilet, your hand trembled slightly as you clasped the other over your mouth.

Two lines.

So plain to the sight, obvious, plain. You are expecting.

Your lips slipped out a single chuckle of disbelief, and your hand found its way to your stomach, as if saying your silent hello to the one growing inside of you.

The bathroom door burst open as you rushed out to Tamaki, who was busy fastening his cloak. He jolted upon your sudden loudness, “W-what’s wrong, angel?” He cautiously asked, walking over to you to study your expression that contrasted his concerned one. Your smile grew wider as you slowly lifted the small strip of pregnancy test to him, your finger pointing to the two lines displayed on it as you squealed. “I-I’m..” You giggled in giddiness, “Tama, I’m pregnant! I-I’m pregnant!!”

Tamaki’s hand felt stiff so suddenly, dropping his cloak to the floor as he rushed closer to you, his hand hovering over the test as his eyes flickered upon it, as if studying it, figuring out if it was real or not. “H-how…? What…?” His voice was small, disbelief and a hint of smile laced upon it. He scoffed a laugh, before looking at you, as his smile grew wide. Gently, he grabbed you by the waist, and you could definitely feel his hands slightly tremble as he did.

With a smile, he placed a small kiss on your forehead, “Thank you, angel.” He softly spoke.

His hand moved to your chin to tilt it up just slightly, enough for him to look into your eyes, smiling so lovesick-ly. Then he kissed you again, this time on your nose as he pressed his forehead on yours.

Ahem..!

He pulled back slowly, now grasping you by the shoulders as his eyes turned somewhat serious, although a hint of pleading was in it as well.

“This means… you should.. uh… stop drinking so much coffee, k-kay..?” Cracked and nervous was the voice that came out of him, and you could feel the slight tightening on his grasp.

You chuckled, nodding as you rolled your eyes. “Yeeess, Tama. I promise,”

⋆˚꩜。

A few months had passed, and Tamaki couldn’t help but squeak softly in fuzziness for every time he saw you on the couch, all round and soft from the pregnancy, and as much he felt kind of guilty for it, he just couldn’t help but take a picture, and would even adore it for moments, smiling softly to himself. But as he heard the soft groan from you as you got up from the couch, he immediately rushed to your side, softly pushing you back down.

“Where are you going?” He asked, brows furrowing as a warning.

“The dishes–”

“I’ll do them, r-right now.” Were the words he would say before rushing to the chore. It happens all the time.

Whatever chore it was, he would say those exact words. Dishes? On it. Cooking dinner? Already did it. Hell, as much as hates it, he even took out the trash for you, forcing a strained smile as he walked out the door to convince you he was more than happy to help you around (which he was). Because if it meant you would rest and not buzz around the house, he’d do it.

At nights where your mood swings were the worst, he’d always be there, and maybe even cry along with you just because he was too sentimental seeing you cry. He’d be kneeled down in front of you, caressing your belly softly, kissing it while he hushed things to you like; “You’re so strong, stronger than me, angel.” or “Oh, y/n, you’re so beautiful, hm? So beautiful..”

I can't stress it enough that he's such a fuss before and after doctor appointments. The first time your baby kicked, he was whispering sweet things to your belly, saying how excited he is to meet the baby and how beautiful it must be, and- nudge!

“What– what was that!!” He cried out, pointing to your belly as he shot up from his kneel.

You simply chuckled, reaching to his hand to calm him down as you replied, “It’s just the baby kicking, Tama.”

“But– but–! It was so harsh! A-and…”

“I-I think we should go to the doctor, Y/n, I’m kind of worried…”

And he did end up taking you to the doctor after about ten minutes of back and forth of him begging you and you reassuring him it was normal that a baby kicks, and his replies were always; “I know it’s normal for babies to kick! B-but that one wasn’t!!” (his argument was that the baby had always been calm before this)

So after the doctor did say it was normal, then he’d calm down. Rubbing his hand over his chest like an old grandma. But after the doctor says that you might have to rest more seeing the baby’s growth, he immediately took that and ran with it. By ‘ran with it’ I mean he forbids you to even go shopping, and he ended up being the one doing all the grocery shopping. And if that wasn’t enough, the moment you two came back from the doctor that day, he called his agency to say that he had to take a break from his hero work.

His reasoning?

“M-my wife needs me,”

Goodness, he was acting like the pregnant one the whole time, and panicked the most at the smallest events. Don’t even get me started when you said you had cramps that time when you woke up in the morning. (He thought he had killed the baby accidentally by kicking it when he was sleeping)

As for characters…I’d say the usual ones that you write for! Kaminari, Kirishima, Sero and Shinsou!

Thank you and have a great day!!! 😫💗💗

⋆˚࿔ e.kirishima

eijiro adores you and your energetic personality, it’s one of his favorite things about you.

he could be having a horrible day but just seeing you be so full of life rejuvenates his soul. your smile is contagious to him.

he likes to call you his ball of sunshine and pinches your cheeks.

eijiro encourages you to channel your bottled-up energy into productive things like training or working out! he's not afraid to express that he wishes he didn’t need to take pre-workout to be on your level. “babe you have to teach me how to have half your energy. seriously! it’s super manly!”

his favorite thing to do with you is early morning jogs. the sun rising, the cool breeze, and you being by his side; he knows it’s going to be an amazing day.

the two of you love having long conversations about everything and nothing. eijiro drinks in the sound of your chirpy voice and replies accordingly. no matter what the topic is he’s fully invested.

he also loves it when you try to playfully fight with him. he thinks it’s cute that you think you could beat him in a fake wrestling match. if you do manage to catch him off guard (which happens more often than you’d expect) he is so proud.

if you’re actually bouncing off the walls and unable to control yourself, he likes to give you a bear hug to calm you down. “how about we relax for the rest of the day baby doll.”

eiji makes sure you're not bumping into people or knocking things over, he’s like your personal shield. “hey, careful!” he says at least 50 times a day.

⋆˚࿔ d.kaminari

denki genuinely thinks he hit the jackpot with you. with both your energetic personalities you two make a perfectly chaotic couple.

he is the first person to match your energy in any and every situation. he encourages your wild side, and you play along with his dorky humor.

he likes to make tiktoks of you in 2x speed and you just go along with it. you enable each other's sillies!

non-stop hyping each other up, there isn’t a single dull moment between you two. “no babe i think you're totally hot when you talk a lot, please don't stop.”

you and denki are always giggling in class together and making dumb jokes. there are countless times when you two have found yourselves in detention together, still laughing at the prank you pulled on aizawa earlier that day.

you’re constantly taking him on little adventures like late-night ice cream runs or mall dates. he has no choice along with it. (he loves it!!)

you like to challenge each other to stupid meaningless competitions like who can hold a plank longer or a staring contest. he challenges you to a race at least once a week and he loses every time, he’s loud and wrong but you love him for it.

at the end of the day, you're both very worn out and cuddle up together, recharging to do it all over again tomorrow.

Hi Bloom!!! I Love Your Writing Sm 🥹! Thanks For Also Writing For Sero Cus…You, Me And The Other

⋆˚࿔ h.sero

hanta finds your energy very amusing. he may tease you about it, a lot, but it’s very clear that it comes from a source of love and admiration.

he likes watching you hop from one friend to another, loudly going about your day. when you finally reach him, he just stares at you as you talk, mesmerized to say the least.

if you’re too far from him in public he won’t hesitate to reel you back in with his tape, as gently as possible of course. “can’t have you running off on me now can i?” he takes your hand to keep you grounded.

hanta loves the days when you're energetic and touchy. like you will jump onto his back to give him a hug and he won’t even flinch. he’s grinning ear to ear when you grab his hand while explaining what happened with mina earlier that day.

you’re a very spontaneous duo! last minute plans and “i’ll do it if you do it.” hanta is 100% down to do anything as long as you're doing it together.

hanta lives for how playfully you are. something will happen, you'll make the stupidest joke about it, and it’ll have him laughing for a week.

if he’s feeling energetic too, he’ll grab your hand, pull you to the middle of the room, and dance with you. spinning you around while singing a cheesy oldie love song. hes such a heartthrob.

you make everything fun and hanta is so glad that he has you keeping things interesting in his life.

⋆˚࿔ h.shinsou

hitoshi loves you so much and the fact that you act as his extrovert shield makes him love you even more. he doesn’t have to worry about making conversation or entertaining others when you're around.

hitoshi likes to sit back and listen to you talk. he hums in reply, hanging onto every word you say.

you're such a ball of energy and he can’t help but get cuteness aggression from watching you interact with the world around you. “come here.” he ushers you close, ensuring that you’re still his.

surprisingly supportive of your impulsive decisions. “alright, where are we going now?” he mutters, a small smirk tugging on his lips as you drag him behind you.

hitoshi find himself becoming more like you after you started dating, opening up to others, talking a bit more, etc.

you definitely got him to loosen up, your energy reflecting onto him. hitoshi finds himself smiling more after you got together.

occasionally, when hitoshi feels brave, he’ll turn the tables. pulling you onto his lap and watching you go from hyper to flustered, “let’s settle down now yeah?”

when your energy has drained from your body, hitoshi can finally match your energy, “tried yet?” he pulls you close and kisses your head, both of you settling into the warmth of being together.
