Two of my fave komaeda interaction in DRS! 🌴
➼ Word Count » 0.6k ➼ Warnings » None ➼ Summary » Headcanons based on how Deacon treats you once Idolized.
He might actually disappear for a minute after he opens up to you about Barbara. Having his whole past spread out on the table for you to see is incredibly uncomfortable for him and he's gonna need some time to get used to having all that open to you.
Sometimes you’ll just find him sleeping on your couch. If he needs to get away for a minute he’ll go crash at your place for a bit. He almost hopes that you’ll show up and so the two of you could talk or something. It always makes him feel so much better when you do.
He somehow got a hold of matching leather jackets for you both to wear and always does his best to incorporate them into his disguises.
Deacon will bring you pre-war board games and ask if you could teach him the rules because the instructions had been burned decades ago and he desperately wants to learn.
He's actually really interested in fashion and will gladly put together a great outfit for you whether you asked for it or not. He also just loves sitting in a room and brainstorming disguise ideas together.
He's really curious about a lot of things from before the war and you'll find that he likes to randomly drag you into different areas and ask you tons of questions. He's especially interested in cartoons and other forms of media and is constantly questioning why they existed or what they usually had on them
He's weirdly good at spas? Massages, and manicures, and all that. He'd give you one if you asked/felt comfortable enough.
He loves sneaking around Goodneighbor or Diamond City with you and watching any fights or drama that happens throughout the day. It reminds you of when you used to watch reality TV shows back before the war and he always has the best comments.
He likes doing graffiti with you on random buildings in the Commonwealth. He’s actually really good at art but refuses to utilize that talent, instead, he just draws stick figures everywhere.
The two of you spent a day disguised as the other to see how long you can get away with it. (it wasn't very long)
He’ll ask if it could be possible for the two of you to set up small safe houses in some of your settlements for any passing synths, although, he always ends up making them look like man caves than temporary homes.
He'll leave these random lanterns all over the place with little jokes or messages carved underneath them. He does this so that if he ever disappears for a minute, you can go look at those to remind yourself that he doesn't hate you, he just needs a bit of time.
Whenever you’re on a mission, he’ll give you both the worst codenames on purpose to annoy you.
He once tried to see what the most outrageous lie you both could pull off was. Needless to say, you both ended up getting in a lot of trouble with Dez because it was 'irrelevant to your mission’.
He's great when he's around, and still loves you when he leaves. In all seriousness, it's been so long since he's had a connection like this with someone, and is so incredibly grateful for you and all that you do for him. He'll show his appreciation in whatever way he can, just understand that you've got to be patient with him while he gets used to it all.
sometimes your programmer bf just wants to infodump so you listen even if you don't understand like 70% of what he's saying

My idea for erasermic month 2025 week 2. ( Slightly late but details were taking forever.)
Prompt: Avian
okay adding on to this cuz Fizz has piercings, i just didn't add them on to the original drawing cuz it slipped my mind as i was sketching them, so...
twists/braids and without twists/braids.
i study biology and i get really clumsy in the lab and when i do field work, so i imagine that someone who works in physics would also have some scars from lab work. i honestly get so excited when Phys does sciencey smart things in the story cuz i am a whole entire nerd. with my whole being.
so @chihirolovebot 's sleep awake has been living rent free in my brain since i found it a week and a half ago, and i wanted to make my own Phys, and i'm actually proud of the results! i had a few ideas floating around my head, but every time is see Phys, my brain goes to Fizz, so that's the name i have on the character. idk if that's weird or not, but oh well.
here goes nothing:
no rendering but only because i want to get this out and i'm impatient. maybe i'll post this with clean line art and rendering, and maybe even a proper background. also i imagine they have piercings, i just didn't draw them (rip).
and the original sketch which points out some of the details:
seriously, this has been living rent free in my brain for a week, and i'm in love with sleep awake. it's so thoughtful and all the characters feel like they could be canon. i adore the changes to the storyline too. i don't have enough words to describe how giddy this story makes me!!!
anywhore, before i end this, i have a few other sketches to share, that, idk, maybe people would like to see:
these ones focus on an idea that Fizz is the mastermind. the first one is just a general mastermind concept (with shoes being the bane of my existence), and the second one was like if Fizz was the mastermind and also had been a part of DICE and was maybe responsible for the tragedy we see in Ouma's motive video, and with Fizz being the mastermind, they purposely left out those memories from Ouma, or whatever, i'm talking out of my ass tbh.
and i just finished this little comic, but i'm not good at drawing comics... so... enjoy?:
it's not knowing how to draw Ouma for me.
anyway, physouma brainrot is real.
i really enjoy sleep awake, i just have a hard time communicating my enjoyment sometimes. great story!
The teacher's lounge is blissfully quiet and seemingly empty when the door shuts and locks with a click behind you. There's no one sitting at the computers, the couches are unoccupied, and the coffee machine is still and cold. You'd come in search of a reprieve, and can't help but sigh and sag with relief upon finding it.
Sometimes the teacher's lounge is just as bad as anywhere else.
Just as bad as the classrooms, the cafeteria, the gymnasiums. Just as bad as the library, the courtyard, the hallways. Just as bad as the bathrooms.
You love your job, you really do.
But sometimes you wonder if you shouldn't have sough employment elsewhere. Maybe at a more normal highschool. Or, maybe even for a lower grade. Maybe one before quirks start manifesting in most children. Not that quirks are a problem.
It's just that, when combined with big dreams and budding hormones, it tends to be a bit...much.
You don't know how the rest of the staff does it.
Granted, almost every other staff member is also a Pro-Hero. Which isn't to say teaching is any easier for any of them, but they sure do seem to handle the stress of it a whole lot better than you can. Do. Ever will. And all you are is an assistant.
Then again, you are Aizawa's assistant.
And his class is...it's something else.
Which is why you've gone and run off to the teacher's lounge. You adore the kids, you really do! For the most part! As much as you can, anyways. Considering none of them are really yours and they're constantly making Aizawa's life, and subsequentially your life, something close to a living hell.
You've considered resigning. You know there's an ample amount of other schools that would probably happily scoop you up. And, maybe if it was earlier in the year, you would have. But, that was before...
Oh.
Well.
That was before you met the puffy, yellow, man-sized lump apparently hiding behind one of the couches. Aizawa.
Or, here, behind closed doors, Shouta.
Sometimes.
It's not a surprise to see him there.
Not in the lounge, or on the floor, with his favorite sleeping bag zipped all the way up to his heavy and slightly bruised eyes closed. He practically lives in the lounge; spends more time in here than the classroom or his own apartment. He's obviously squeezing a nap in, for as long and deep as he can. And you can tell he's asleep, really asleep, because his mouth is just slightly open.
After working with him for as long as you have, which really isn't long, but long enough -- you know that when he sleeps, he breathes in through his mouth and out through his nose. Like even when unconscious, he's subconsciously still trying to meditate. Trying to relax.
Trying to do the same thing you are.
It's precious.
And a little pathetic, but you know better than to ever admit that out loud.
You teeter on your feet for a second, while he continues to sleep and split his breathing. You think that maybe you should leave, that maybe you'll get lucky and find some other pocket of tranquility somewhere. You don't want to pop this one. But, he hasn't woken up yet, so you figure it's probably safe to stay. It's not like you're going to make a whole lot of noise, anyway -- sitting on the couch and filling out some forms. One part of your job is keeping track of each individual student's quirk record; obvious strengths, weaknesses, growths, injuries, incidents. It's exhausting work, but work better done by you, so that Shouta can actually work with those kids and their quirks.
When you pick a spot on a sofa, Shouta doesn't even twitch. And when you pluck the pen from behind your ear and start scrawling away, the sound of scratching ink is barely any louder than his own breathing. Feeling confident that you won't wake him up, you settle into your work.
Anyone else coming into the lounge is, sadly, out of your control.
You get through updating about three forms when the sound of shifting fabric snags your attention. You peer around the couch across from you, just far enough to see that yes, Shouta is still sleeping, he's just moved around a bit. You hold your breath, and watch as a wrinkle that formed in his nose slowly soothes itself away. The zipper of his sleeping bag now runs down the length of the front of his body, instead of the side. You reckon it's more comfortable that way, and you wonder if he's dreaming. And if so, what he's dreaming about.
It's a curiosity that's often hard to quell, since that's your thing after all. Your quirk. The reason you even landed the job that you did. You can see people's dreams, and then project them. Furthermore, you can sometimes even influence them, with a strong bond and some practice. You aren't anything close to a qualified therapist or counselor, but...heroes suffer nightmares. Every single one of them. And, the idea is that - the hope is that -- you can help them. With that. Their bad dreams. Their nightmares. Their night terrors. Prevent sleep paralysis and insomnia and panic attacks. You haven't tried yet, not with a single student, but you'd had to prove yourself to Principal Nezu during your interview. He'd been impressed and pleased.
And Shouta had been intrigued.
For now, you've just been working as an assistant, and building rapport with the students. After all, the stronger and healthier the bond, the more you'll be able to help. And you want to help, you do. Even if you don't necessarily...like using your quirk. It always feels like an invasion of privacy, even with blatant permission and consent. People can't help what they dream. Sometimes they want to know, and you have to figure out how to tell them. Sometimes you don't want to tell them. Sometimes they don't ask, and it's better that they forget, which they usually do.
You, on the other hand?
You never forget.
At least not quickly.
Not without a drink or two and a damn good distraction.
Does Shouta suffer nightmares? Surely he does. But, you hope that on the rare occasion he actually reaches REM, like he might be reaching now, that he doesn't. If he dreams at all, you hope it's a good dream. But, what would a good dream look like for him?
...cats, probably. Lots and lots of cats. And having a body that was more blood than caffeine. Or, maybe having the body of a cat. Maybe a good dream for Shouta involved some fur and a long tail and a good sunny spot to soak in. You laugh silently as you picture it. Yeah, you could see that.
Okay I get a lot of questions about what order the handplates comics go in because for a while I was a doofus and just did whatever scene I had in mind regardless of where in the timeline it fell because SURE THAT’S NOT CONFUSING OR ANYTHING, so here’s all the comics in chronological order. I’ll update this as it chugs along.
-Handplates- Summary: An AU in which Sans and Papyrus were experiments of Gaster’s and a lot of suffering ensues. Updates: Whenever
Each comic usually has an LJ (or Dreamwidth) post listed as the source where I talk about random notes and details about each one. The main story is also on Comicfury, which is probably the most convenient and best looking place to read it, but I also mirrored this index on Pillowfort and I upload each bit of art to Deviantart too. On Devart, I link to stuff like dubs or translations (!) in the description for each one. If you do a dub or translation btw let me know! I think they are super cool, haha.
Each one is usually about a single self-contained moment, so while there is an order to them, they might not directly lead into or from each other. Sort of like chapters in a book I guess? Since this isn’t confusing enough already.
Oh also! For Mobile users, I’m noticing some of the links aren’t working… you might want to try using the Pillowfort index instead.

Faint memories - This technically falls later in the timeline since they’re reminiscing about what happened, but I still think it’s probably the best place to start the AU.

Deacon’s relationship with children(/his own lack thereof) is one of the most fascinating and understated pieces of character development in Fallout 4. I’m maybe too hg&:ghlkd@ to create a unified narrative here, so I’m just gonna make a list of details from the game and let you interpret from there.
Obviously he directly says that he and his wife were trying to conceive before she died. We don’t know whether it would ever have been possible, but, most likely, neither does Deacon.
He’s the only companion besides MacCready to love it if you share your grief at losing a child with Blake Abernathy. Also, as far as I can tell, he’s the only one to love it if you tell Miss Edna that children need love (and that love conquers all).
He seems to have some aversion to the subject of children, however, at least pre-war children. In the abandoned nursery he says, “When you’re done here, I’d like to leave,” in a very unDeaconlike tone. He also says he hates playgrounds.
Reaction to rads: “Great. I didn't need to have more children.” (Yeah okay you liar)
He has two different pieces of dialogue that make it sound like he would have been interested in being a teacher. “So teachers, all they did was teach, right? They didn't farm or run shops or run guns on the side? Wow.”/“If I wanted steady work I would've stayed a teacher.” (Yeah okay you liar)
There’s a very cute conversation where he gets intel from a little girl (possibly Meg?) who’s his informant. To all of our devastation, the man is great with kids. Considering that and his dialogue with Travis, I think he’d be an amazing dad.
He also seems to have a good relationship with Shaun. He pulled out his “actually I’m a synth” lie with Shaun, but knowing Deacon I’m guessing it’s to prepare him for the eventual realization that he’s a synth himself.
[idk when this dialogue triggers, possibly also in radiation] “If I keep tromping around here, guess there won’t be any little Deacons scurrying around in the future.” I really hope this isn’t a joke and he still has hope of being a father. He’s obviously not interested in the player character, but that doesn’t mean he’s ruled out remarriage. He’s been a Railroad agent for over fourteen years, so he probably feels like he’s running out of time.
