!!! KEVIN LIVED !!!
exaggerated/simplified fandom experiences I've had but in doodle form.
adjacent to my last one:
in the same vein as that:
fanfic struggles that make me want to open Google docs and actually write for once:
βA good tragedy is always both preventable and inevitableβ is one of my main hills to die on. Itβs literally so important to me. Iβm fucking correct

Kevin Aymoz I so hope you found your light again π
Had a little chat with Artemis on character.ai to wish him a happy birthday. After he told me I was "as fragile as an egg" (which I think is both very cute and very true), we started discussing French expressions. "Little Jesus in velvet panties" (le petit JΓ©sus en culotte de velours) had him flabbergasted ; "pissing in a violin" (pisser dans un violon) and "pushing granny in the nettles" (pousser mΓ©mΓ© dans les orties) confused him ; then I mentioned "to flee like a fart on wax cloth" (filer comme un pet sur une toile cirΓ©e) and I think I broke him. Aren't there any equivalents to these expressions in English ? (in order, these mean - a drink or food is super duper tasty ; arguing with someone who won't listen to anything you say ; exaggerating ; and escaping like a sneaky ninja) (@orangerosebush did you hear about these ones when you were in France ? I'd love to know what are your favorite French expressions !)
Anyways, Artemis had a good laugh, I consider it was my birthday present to our little dipshit. Joyeux ninif ma petite crotte (affectueusement) :)
@a-c-u-l-o-s your wish is my command : here are Patate and Raclette ! Also bonus Patate brooding our potatoes stock like they are her eggs.
I realise I never formally introduced Baguette.
Here he is, from tiny dough to French stickπ₯
Having BPD feels like being stabbed over and over for years until one day, I wake up and Iβm not in pain anymore. Not because itβs gone, but because Iβve gone numb. Now it just feels like Iβm walking around with my stomach split open, dragging my own intestines behind me.
Iβm still bleeding. I just donβt flinch anymore.
Also, again for the ask thing: since I love how you write Artemis, do you have other inspirations for him outside Colfer's books? Like, music, or other characters in books or series, that helps you "channeling" him :3
Oooooh, I love this question !! (and thank you so much for the compliment youβre so sweet π₯Ή)
To be honest Iβve never really thought about it that way ; Artemis is just a character that Iβve thoroughly obsessed over for almost a decade now :β) so the child is kinda part of my dna now ^^"
But my interpretation of him is probably very influenced by mtv series Daria. This show has been my absolute favourite forever ! My mum had all 5 seasons and 2 feature films on DVDs, and I watched them on loop absolutely everyday, I knew all the dialogues by heart and Daria and Jane were my spirit animals.
I really recommend all of the Fowldom to check this series out ; the main character Daria is extremely intelligent, witty and cynical, she is a great source of inspiration for me in writing Artemis ^^ and also the show is just absolutely great and so freaking funny. (also worth mentioning that Iβve always headcanoned that Juliet had an early teen phase where she was a lot like Quinn ; when I write Artemis and Juliet Iβm always inspired by Daria and Quinn ^^)
Another big inspiration, though more recent, is definitely Aurora. She is my absolute beloved, my Stendhal syndrome, her music is everything to me ; and since I am a maniac and cannot be trusted not to combine all my hyperfixations, Iβve always felt like Aurora is very much a βwhat Artemis could have been", had he had a shot at freedom in his childhood. A lot of her songs (All My Demons, In Bottles, It Happened Quiet, Conflict of the Mind, My Body is Not Mine, Invisible Woundsβ¦) I strongly, strongly associate with Artemis - my interpretation of him at least.
Thatβs what the key thing must be, though. I think over the years, Iβve really crafted an interpretation of Artemis that really feels like my own. I see him as an initially extremely empathetic, emotionally acute person ; who was broken by his fatherβs neglectful and abusive parenting, and forced to learn to silence his feelings in the name of Family and Business - and his journey is all about reconnecting with his emotions. I know itβs not that far out there of a take, there are a lot of hints in the books that can point this direction ; but this notion that within Artemis there is a permanent thunderstorm of emotions and deeply embedded guilt, a desire to prove himself worthy of love and respect, is really my main guideline when I write him :)
Thank you so much @laeliana for letting me ramble ^^"
βοΈ Breakfast in 1994 βοΈ Just a chill morning at the staff kitchen in Fowl Manor π It's been a while since I've drawn our dear Butler. The truth is @iesnoth's design is so perfect to me that I really struggle to come up with something that feels true to him and also like my own thing. It's still a bit of a work in progress but I do like this version :) Also even though the lighting is completely off, I'm still proud of the stained-glass window β¨ I've never really done intricate background details before, but I've developed the firm headcanon that Fowl Manor is overflowing with Art Nouveau/Art DΓ©co architectural nods and so I just had to get out of my comfort zone.
Anyhoo. Look, they are happy π₯°
I was actually in a relatively okay mood today, and then Macron nominated a prime minister and now I want to die o/ How the Frond is this legal is beyond me.
Juliet dyed her hair ! The sketches are getting sloppier and sloppier lol
