when jegulus first gets together and goes public everyone assumes James is the clingy one. it makes sense too, he follows Regulus around like a puppy. But only their friends see the Regulus that curls up into James and will whine if James even slightly moves. The Regulus that pulls James up to bed way too early just to cuddle because of how in love he is.

James stepped into the room of requirement, closing the door softly behind him. He wasn't sure when Regulus would get there. They both had agreed that the room should be a place of comfort for them both, a neutral area. The room was simple, decorated in greens, reds, silver, and gold. A mix of them both. A bed that could fit three people on the right side, a fireplace on the left, and a small sofa in front of it.

James sat down on the sofa, the fireplace already lit and emitting a warm glow. He didn't have to wait long before he heard a small click, then Regulus was walking through the door. The boy looked around the room, a grin on his face when he spotted James.

“Hi,” Regulus said softly, sitting down next to James.

James beamed, “Hello Lovely”. He reached out his arms, a welcoming gesture. Regulus crawled into James lap, winding his arms around the other’s neck, playing with his unruly hair. James' arms wrapped around Regulus’ waist, pulling him close.

James leaned forward, kissing Regulus’ lips, a soft movement. Regulus responded by kissing him back with more fervour, more passion. James could feel Regulus pulling on the hairs at the nape of his neck, he groaned when Regulus tugged especially hard. James moved his arms tighter, pulling him flush with Reg's chest, the smaller man gasped at the motion.

Regulus paused and pulled back a little, “James?” He asked

James nodded, silently telling Regulus to continue.

“Do you think we can,” Regulus swallowed, nervous about something.

“What is it, love?” James implored.

Regulus' thought of how to phrase his words. “Can we.. spend the night together ?”

James smiled wide, “You want to sleep with me?” He asked excitedly. Regulus blushed and nodded, looking into James' eyes for an answer. “Of course, I do too.” James answered.

Regulus slid off James lap and stood up, tilting his bed in the direction of the bed. James hopped up, following Regulus.

Reg stood in front of the bed, facing James, and started unbuttoning his trousers. James’ body lit up with nervous excitement. He watched carefully as Regulus’ graceful hands teasingly undid button after button. He practically bounced up and down.

James’ eyes followed Regulus' as he slid his trousers over his hips, “Yippie!” he says without thinking and while clapping his hands. Regulus dropped the trousers around his ankles.

Regulus’ face deadpans. He looks up like he can't decide whether to be mad or to laugh. James attempts to stifle his laughter behind his hand. Regulus just falls back against the bed, sighing.

“Sorry my love” James chuckles, giving in and walking over to the bed.

Regulus holds a hand up, a singular finger pointing in the direction of the door. “Nope,” he says trying to stop from laughing “just, just go.”

“But baby..” James whines, leaning over Regulus' to press kisses to his clothes chest, then another on his lower stomach, and another just above his boxers.

Regulus sighs, closing his eyes. “I guess you could stay.” He reached a hand to brush through James curls. James kneels at the end of the bed, pulling Reg’s trousers all the way off, tossing them behind him.

Regulus sits up, his eyes drifting over James'. “I think it's time you show me something” he smirks

He immediately flushed, his hands on the hem of his jumper. He pulls it off just as slow as Reg did. When his jumper is completely off he throws it to the side. Regulus smiles, giving James a slow clap. “Wow” he says while looking James up and down.

“Wow” James repeats. “Your turn, love”

Regulus slips his jumper off with one hand, throwing it at James. “Trousers off, love.” He points at James, his finger moving up and down.

Then both of them are stripped to their pants, James standing at the foot of the bed, Reg sitting on the edge. Regulus leans back, hands pulling at the hem of his boxers. He slides them down, slowly, agonizingly, until he has them around his thighs. He looks over to James.

“I kind of want to clap..” James smiled jokingly. Regulus laughs, pulling his pants all the way off and throwing them at James, who catches them.

James puts a knee at the end of the bed, Regulus moves to his legs on either side, almost straddling him. Regulus thumbs at James’ own pants, his eyes blown out with lust. James just tilted his head, feigning confusion. Regulus rolls his eyes and tugs his pants down.

Regulus just stares for a little, blinking rapidly then smiling. James smirks down at Regulus.

Then both of their pants are thrown somewhere in the room, they tangle together, and they fall backwards into their bed, together.

(I thought of this while I was reading Anti-hero by @rweoutofthewoods (love the fic by the way!) and I was on chapter 26, Battle of Hogwarts, where Voldy and Death Eaters find out Reg is alive and they are talking)

trans regulus who thinks no one is taking him serious so he has to be a cold bitch all the time and put people in their place but imagine his surprise when he realizes james is actually taking him very serious. (after his friends) james makes him feel seen, he makes him feel confident because in james' eyes he is a boy no matter how much transphobia he gets to endure during a day.

james looks at him and sees nothing but a boy that is lethally beautiful and dangerous.
