Marriage in general is fucked in the middle east..
I hate hate HATE living in a country where girls being married off at 15 is seen as something to be envious of.. is seen as something to be admired for..for fuck sakes! That's a fucking child!! I remember a classmate talking about i think a cousin of hers who's 15 who's married to a 29/30 year old man and how MUCH he LOVES her and how everyday he does her FUCKING HAIR FOR FUCKING SCHOOL!!!!
i saw a video of a 26 year old mother selling food on the street to make money and the top comment on that video was a man (sincerely) offering to marry her and he had like 100 replies of people asking him if he did it already and praising him for it..
And you know what's annoying is when i try to point out how fucked up those things are.. I'm almost always in the minority, I'm almost always argued against and people try to justify something like this by being like "this is our culture"....
fuck this culture and religion because you know damn well this shit is rooted in religion.. girls married off when they hit puberty to men twice their age is seen as an accomplishment.. men being encouraged to grace widows and divorced women with their kindness and marry them like they're broken or used (even if it meant getting a second, third or a fourth wife)...
And i know to most people reading this shit it sounds like I'm making it up but I'm not and you have no idea how much i wish i was..
AND SURE YOU CAN ARGUE THAT THEY ARE IN FACT CODEPENDENT
but look at the cast
....and notice how there isn't one anymore
doomed by the narrative. I REST MY CASE !!!
dean and sam's relationship is so abrgajndk
because when it comes down to it dean doesnt treat sam like a brother instead he takes on the role of a parent without meaning to because he was literally forced to raise sam when they were growing up, and he can't let go of that mindset.
multiple times in the show he says shit like "you're not a kid anymore, you can take care of yourself" but he still takes care of sam anyway because it's what he's been doing his entire life. sam was venting about not having a mom or dad around during holidays but you wanna know who was there DEAN WAS THERE DEAN SET UP THE CHRISTMAS DECOR AND GOT GIFTS BC JOHN ABANDONED THEM ever since they were young john made dean promise he'd protect sam no matter what to the point where dean sold his SOUL for sam "they're codependent!" NO DEAN JUST TREATS SAM LIKE HE'S HIS SON
sorry im tweaking out i love supernatural

oh. my.
I absolutely ADORED this book, and I also think it's just about time we saw some "women killing men" media floating around, and this was the perfect take on it.
A food critic who eats men? I don't know about the rest of you, but this is exactly what I meant when I said I support women's wrongs.
If you're looking for a book with weird gorey details, cannibalism, and a psychopathic woman as an mc, I absolutely recommend looking into this!
of course, please check trigger warnings before diving in
concerts arent really my thing, but its hard not to love moments like these<3
