I think I’ve seen this film before…
…and I didn’t like the ending
Sorry I don't care Bobby's mom should've taken him with her. I don't believe in not giving children a choice but I think abuse is one of the moments you can enforce that "I'm an adult you do as I say" thing.
Eddie's going to leave his parents' house after a huge blow up fight with his mom and he's going to be alone in his truck and he's going to look longingly at the passenger seat and sigh because Buck should be there.
And then he's going to call Buck on his drive home and Buck will have Eddie's back when he tells him about the fight. And when Eddie gets home he'll park the car and sigh and close his eyes and Buck will still be talking and Eddie will pretend Buck's in the car with him (where he belongs) for just a few seconds and then he'll tell Buck he's home and they'll hang up and Eddie will be alone again.
And he'll realize that the person who has always had his back is over 800 miles away and he misses him more than he ever thought he would. And it'll hit him like a ton of bricks that Buck is the first person he calls after a bad day and after a good one. That Buck is the voice he wants to hear when he's spiraling. That the reason it's been so hard to look directly that his relationship with Buck is because it's something beyond friendship. He loves him to the core.
my dream scenario of tommy making a big comeback arrival via helicopter with heavily pregnant marisol and landing on some random roof mid a 118 emergency response just so buck can help her deliver the baby (tim loves callbacks) and then sue eddie to keep it for himself (and tommy) while marisol realizes she's in love with abby and runs off into the sunset seems like a more realistic prediction with every passing minute
Let me hold your hand while I say this - I absolutely do want to read your PHD thesis on Buddie
Every person out here spending hours writing an essay about framing, costume, wording, scene parallels, colour palettes, etc, etc is a true hero to me
Eddie’s pov of buck is Buck supporting him and caring for him and encouraging him. I’m soooooooooo
JLH is going to be giving us one of her best performances to date. Maddie is going to be an absolute badass and finds a way to get herself out.
I am generally not a fan of physical violence, especially depictions of men hitting women, but I think Chimney should be allowed to get (1) hit in on Amber when he realizes she was the one to take Maddie
For the love of all things good, please no miscarriage storyline as a consequence of whatever this woman is going to do to Maddie. I need this to be a happy pregnancy, and they welcome another little girl into the family that they name Joy. Please and thank you
Buck crashes out about potentially losing another person he loves AGAIN
The 118 comforting Buck and Chim and reassuring them that Maddie will be okay and that they'll find her
Chimney struggling with knowing what to do and how to talk to their daughter about mommy being missing
This is one thing I saw mentioned by another creator, and I love the idea: Jee-Yun, being the only other person home at the time, may hold the key to finding Maddie in some way.
Buck and Chimney teaming up with Athena to find Maddie
NO MADDIE NDE PLEASE
Buck is going to help Eddie pack for his move to El Paso
Eddie is going to give Buck his couch. I might spontaneously combust with this one. Honestly, though, if they don't do this, it feels like the couch talk was for nothing. If it happens, I would also like this silent moment after Eddie offers Buck the couch where they both kinda recognize what it means, but neither one is ready to acknowledge it out loud.
I feel like the goodbye scene between Buck and Eddie is going to be shot and cut in such a way that it is a direct parallel to his goodbye scene with Abby.
Buck will go back to Eddie's place– his place– and will probably end up drinking a beer alone and crying on the couch :(
sorry i got so caught up in maddie being chained up in a basement that i overlooked the fact that buck was being a fucking weirdo about moving into eddie’s house at dinner
the existence of "maybe", "perhaps", "perchance", and "mayhaps" suggests there should also be "maychance" and "perbe"
Can we also admit that even if somehow Bobby is alive how would this have been good writing because we know Tim is not capable these days of writing character driven arcs so if Bobby were to come back then essentially we used SIX episodes…252 minutes….4.2 hours of screen time for a non permanent NDE that essentially served to change things up aka find a new Captain for the 118 and if that was the point then there are many different ways this could have been done and still move the characters forward compared to what ever this disaster was. Also, even if they somehow pull off more of an exploration of grief in the last two episodes it will still be completely overshadowed for how poorly executed Bobby’s actual death and funeral were….the man’s funeral was literally treated like the C plot of the episode…..and the actual 118 that Bobby built felt like guest stars in an episode that should have felt like us mourning with the Firefam. Gerrard wasn’t even around when Bobby got to the 118 so miss me with that shit…..
listen I don't even need buck to hook up with a ton of people, I just need one person to come back to his place with him, hot and ready to go, and they're flirting, making out a little, and just moving through the house, and buck goes to make them a drink or smth while his date stays in the living room for a moment, and they look around themselves, take in the decor, and the pictures on the wall, and when buck comes back they've got their jacket back on and are on their way to the door going "oh my god, I can't do this" and buck's like "wait what?? what do you mean???" but his date just keeps walking, and only right after they've set foot outside, they turn to look him dead in the eye, a shaken yet pissed expression on their face, and go "I don't sleep with married men, okay?"
and then they slam the door in his face and buck's just standing there, staring into nothingness as his mind spins out of control like it never has before.
Currently hyperfocusing on 9-1-1 and Buddie instead of studying like I should lol. 24 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ (they/them)
