Buck choosing to say “Eddie’s straight” “my straight best friend” ok what if he wasn’t.. what then
..... I don't have to want to sleep with everyone i have feeling for...... BUCK, DID YOU JUST ACCIDENTALLY ADMIT SOMETHING?
there is simply no world in which they’d have buckoliver doing All That if buddie canon wasn’t happening - like, they would not even touch this if it was just going to be one-sided?? not only would that upset people who want buck and eddie together, but also the people who want them to remain friends because unrequited feelings would permanently hurt their dynamic, and ripple through the rest of the team. not to mention, it puts one of their main characters in a position of being the ‘bad guy’ for not returning buck’s feelings. it wouldn’t make sense for them to blow up such a significant part of their show when there’d be no winning for anyone. and when you take a step back and put down the interviews and just look at what’s actually playing out in the show, it’s clear what’s happening.
they didn’t have to so heavily lean into focusing on buckandeddie since the switch to abc. they didn’t have to tie eddie to buck’s relationship with tommy. they didn’t have to make buck’s 8b arc all about grappling with losing eddie! say what you will about some of the writing on this show, but they’re not totally incompetent. these things didn’t just accidentally happen. it was always going to be either all in on canon, or nothing at all. and they’re all in.
let the story play out. it’s coming.
Eddie’s pov of buck is Buck supporting him and caring for him and encouraging him. I’m soooooooooo
Chim is never in a Million years going to let Eddie live down falling for Freddie Fakeman
i would love to know what the people complaining about their acting choices would want them to do. like do you want them to stand there and announce every emotion they're going through at any moment? it's in the look back. it's in the slight twinge to their smiles. the awkward waving of the arms. the eyelashes fluttering. the nervous scratching. the writing choices. the confusion as the distance grows. it's all there and if you can't interpret that, it's on you
calm down guys, it's only the 8th
enjoying the fact that the main genre of fic to emerge from this hiatus is ‘buck completely loses it after eddie leaves but it’s ok because turns out eddie is as not normal about him as he is about eddie’
ten out of ten no notes
Idk not to read into it or anything but I think making the suicidal addict, a man cursed to be alone and responsible since young childhood, sacrifice his life for the sake of his team and die a painful gratuitous death, alone in a glass box with no one to hug, just when his life was finally worth living is fucking cruel and twisted writing.
He was building a house. He wanted to live. He was happy.
Bobby Nash was an incredibly well written character, it was a well done portrayal of survivors guilt, addiction, loneliness and suicidality.
He was a man cursed with the burden of feeling responsible for everyone in his life, for his dad, for killing his family, for his team.
I truly think killing him in such a horrific way on the Nobody Dies Show was a disservice to his character and all that he represented.
As someone who felt seen and portrayed by his character, I don’t think that was a brave and heroic death. I think it was utterly tragic and thankless. You made him die alone in a glass box, with no one to hug. Just at the point of him feeling truly happy and secure.
It’s literally so sick that the first episode where Eddie won’t be with the 118 is the “Bobby’s mom is a mega-church televangelist” episode. Like. He would have so much to say… so many faces to make… Eddie…
