Whats Up What's Up, My School IT Admin Has Gone A Bit Mad With Power And Blocked Social Media, Films,

whats up what's up, my school IT admin has gone a bit mad with power and blocked social media, films, games etc from any device linked to our school system which means this blog has taken quite a blow as the only legit means of watching I have are film4 and BBCIPlayer so I can't just do whatever I like now. nevertheless i thought I'd let you know that this blog has not been abandoned at all and I've just taken some time away from social media to try and get back on track with school - however I aim on posting my remaining drafts and uploading my Jan recap next week!!

ps - if you know any other legit movie websites then let me know

see you soon!

thoughts while watching euphoria (pt 2)

23:22 - 22 Jan 2022

SPOILERS

- kats a shitty friend, like come on girl, you can literally hear maddy crying and you blow her off so you can give snakebite guy (who you’ve met like once before) head?

-fuck

nate

jacobs

(further explanation isn’t necessary)

- also another thing i noticed is in nates little monologue about traits he likes in women, he strays away from anything masculine - forcing himself away from anything that could pertain to his sexuality

- the parallels between nate and his dad are disturbing as fuckk

, the scene where he met jules as tyler gave me chills, like when he stuck his finger in her mouth??LITERALLY the same words and tone. meeting maddy at the motel too.chills.

- zendaya is amazing, like so so amazing

- to clarify about the unrealistic portrayal of teenagers, i am not referring to the drug culture, i mean the way they talk, dress in school, kat is a fucking camgirl and in highschool. yes, drug culture is prevalent among teenagers almost everywhere and euphoria puts it centre stage, if i had one thing to comment about it though, fez is a bit too caring to be rue’s dealer, letting her into his house, paying for the fentanyl..so on so on. -  want to see more of lexi, her position as cassies sister and rues childhood friend makes her very interesting. we’ve just started ep 5 bitchhhh, its almost midnight though, so post tmrw. ~Amimi

start of summer (sunshine and sadness)

Sun 10 July 2022, 3pm the alliteration for the title came so smoothly its silly. this isn't a monthly recap but i just felt like dumping so here i am. i just read a short story called The Girl He Left Behind (10/10 would recommend) and am ugly crying. Induction Week came and went a lot quicker then I thought it would. overall, pretty good! i love all my subjects and the people in all 3 of my classes are great! there was some ugly stuff that reared its head right towards the end but i'm trying my best to pay it no mind. so it's been officially decided on fine art, media and sociology! i'm just waiting on gcse results, despite definitely not getting the grades i wanted in sociology due to a spontaneous breakdown during the second exam from stress, but on the very positive side i'm pretty sure i still passed which is all you really need to study it at a level. i'm doing two more creative subjects and one pretty hard essay based subject to even out, which i think is a pretty good mix! for transition work over the summer i've got a personal sketchbook to fill for fine art, a presentation to make about myself for media and then some tasks that are yet to be set for sociology. one of the themes for the sketchbook is films/tv which i'm super stoked for - i think i'll post about the sketchbook and media presentation a lot on here as i make it and the final result aswell. that's all for now! dark academic friend group things (for those of us who actually have friends)

group outings to old historical buildings and libraries

the looks given to each other when you already know the material from spending your spare time in the library together, reading it for fun

musing with one another in a language that noone around understands   (preferably latin)

quoting philosophers and authors during casual conversation

swooning together about the overpriced tweed jacket you saw in the window

looking over your opposing balconies and flying paper plane notes with inscriptions to one another

inspired by a post i saw on pinterest but didn’t get the chance to pin because i lost it in the depths of my feed ~Amimi

october onslaught (obstacles and others)

01:01 - Friday 28th October that title does not make sense but i spent a good however many minutes scrolling through synonyms on thesaurus.com to come up with it and i refuse to waste those efforts.

so sixth form turned up a notch in the past month, it's been flashing by really quick, i'm unorganised and flustered by every little thing - not to mention how thrown off i am by not only the sheer amount of work, but how much i have to try and catch up on due to sick days. now that i don't partake in anything other than school (as i've dropped my religious studies), i find myself growing really restless. i'm considering getting a job? but i'd have to make a cv and figure out how to make a bank account and tons of other things before even considering applying. idk i feel kinda dumb for not knowing these things already. it's half term holiday! well, almost the end seeing as i have the weekend and then have to go back to school. i plan on somehow plowing through all of the work i've missed (particularly sociology) and being fully up to speed by friday. wish me luck! i'll probably be doing tons of school posts to motivate me so i'll see you soon. until next time! ~Amimi

how to live life like a ghibli film

1. go out in nature more. every studio ghibli film has some aspect of nature intertwined with the storyline. sometimes its hard to get the energy to go outside, but just going out on your deck or opening the window in your room or taking a walk around the block is enough. if you feel like it, go for a hike! go into the woods and look at every flower, and every tree. look at the mushrooms and streams and notice the beauty of them. look at nature like you’ve never seen it before. wake up at 4 and watch the sunset. put plants around your room. realize how beautiful the world is around you. appreciate it.

2. get a hobby! this step is certainly easier said than done, but its so worth it. struggling with mental illness makes it especially hard to get a hobby, but its very important that you don’t spend the majority of your time on social media. Start small. If you want to start drawing get a coloring book and fill in a picture with beautiful markers! If you want to write find a random prompt online, give yourself 30 minutes and see what you can come up with. Want to try baking? Start with an easy recipe, like chocolate chip cookies, and share them with your family or friends, or just yourself! Try out a bunch of hobbies, and see what you like best. Maybe you like making jewelry or writing poems or creating digital collages or making video edits or decorating your room or riding a bike or sewing or reading. The possibilities are endless, and getting a hobby you enjoy is very important, and fun.

3. start appreciating small things and noticing details. I don’t know how to explain this step, but in studio Ghibli films, small things always stick out. There are beautiful tiny details that make the story so much more magnificent. small details make the studio Ghibli films what they are. maybe on your way to school/work the sky was a really pretty color. Or the tea you made in the morning was perfectly steeped. appreciate small details of life that you don’t normally notice.

4. appreciate food. Pay attention to your food. If you can, try and make/bake your own food! But if you can’t, just be mindful of your food. Try not to eat while you’re on your phone. Dedicate times to just eating. Appreciating the food in front of you. Make yourself the ponyo drink with milk and honey, or ponyo ramen! Make yourself your own blend of tea like the Baron!

5. be kind and help others. Being kind doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, it can be smiling and waving at a baby in a café, or helping your mom finish the dishes, or paying for a friend’s coffee. Small gestures not only put good out into the world, but they also make you feel better. When you can, help others. Try volunteering at an animal shelter, or babysit for your aunt without charging her, or just listen to your friend when they’re going through something and be there for them. In every Ghibli film, the main character is always helping others, and being kind. Try to be like kiki, when she returned the pacifier to the mother who forgot it, or like chizuru from the cat returns, who risks her life to save a cat. Kindness comes in all shapes and forms, so just try your best to do what you can!

6. be your most authentic self. Stay true to who you are. dress how you’d like. Cut your hair like you’ve always wanted to. Stay confident and true to yourself. We all feel insecure sometimes, but we need to remind ourselves that we are great. Don’t try and force yourself to be someone you aren’t. Kiki felt insecure in her abilities as a witch, but she stayed true to herself, and believed in herself, and it paid off. Love and appreciate yourself, just the way you are.

7. (not really a tip but a fun suggestion) start collecting something! This is just an extra step that I wanted to include because I think its nice. But start a collection of things that interest you. It could be anything! Candles, stamps, teacups, antique figurines, 19th century photos, lip balms, books, key chains, flowers, hats. The choices are endless.
