A painting that I forgot existed but totally vibed with when I got started on it again ✨
The Do’s & Don'ts of interacting w/ content creators, & other people you don’t know well mutually I slapped together for Twitter.
This ended up being more Don'ts than Dos but I feel like people need more help learning what NOT to say once they stray away from simple compliments and questions.
Appreciation post for all the beginner artists who work hard despite the AI looming over us. You are fabulous. You are precious. Keep up the hard work, you are needed.

one question, in the case of these braids below, how is the spiral shape maintained? i believe i've seen shaped hair with wires before but wasn't sure if that would be the case here
Hello! So the spiral shape could be maintained in many ways! Depending on how abstract people CAN just braid wires into the style so it bends sure, but because our hair is so naturally thick, it holds shape well so we don’t really need too! For example, thicker spiral braids are are secured with pins then submerged in hot water so they keep there shapes for longer, like this:
While the thinner ones like I depicted, can be achieved and maintained with heat, hair gel, and hairspray! Simply braiding the hair, applying gel while bending the hair, and then adding heat/hairspray to secure it keeps it locked in place for some time!
