Harry looked at him. It was too insane to even consider. “Kiss me? Are you out of your mind?! I don’t even like you.”

“I don’t like you either, you absolute–” Tom stopped himself by taking a deep breath before he could insult him further. “I’m saying, It would get them off our backs. They wouldn’t be worrying about where we snuck off to each night. You can go do… whatever it is you’re up to, and I can do the same.”

“You’ve got to be joking. I don’t trust you,” Harry glared. His eyes darted to the other nosy students pretending to read their books while they tried to listen in on their conversation. 

“I don’t trust you either. Consider it mutually assured destruction. If anyone asks where the other is, we just say we were with each other doing… well what couples do I guess. We would only have to keep up the act every few days and the rest of the time we don’t have to speak to each other. Deal?”

It was tempting, but Harry didn’t know if he could say yes. If he did, then he would just be letting Tom get away with some horrendous act and Harry might one day be an accessory to murder. 

But if he did, then it would be so easy to sneak off into the forbidden forest and find a way to fix that damn spell so he could go back home. Then he wouldn’t have to worry about it ever again.

“Fine,” Harry whispered harshly. “But don’t go poking into my business.”

“I can only ask the same of you, darling.” Tom’s smile was charming because of course it was. Tom Riddle did not know how to be anything but. 

The kiss was not anything dramatic or romantic. A quick peck on the lips was all it too to cause loud gasps and giggles from their onlookers. Harry felt himself blush from the attention and turned his head back to his Herbology homework.

Harry Potter who has a secret tiktok social media account and has a pretty decent following because he gives off major steve irwin vibes.

Maybe during one of the many times he is ostracized by the school, he finds solace in going on runs in the forbidden forest and he got a phone because... well why not? who is gonna stop him? He found a way to make it work on campus so what does it matter?

Anyways, he makes tik toks about the freaky things he sees in the woods but approaches them with such gentleness and sweetheart vibes no one knows if he is using a filter or greenscreen or what.

He finds some nifflers in the forest and he goes into check on them. Especially frank who is the oldest and likes to follow him around for a little while. SURE he sees unicorns and stuff but "Look at this regular bird. Just hanging out. Look how brave he is. Hello!"

and then he makes tik toks about how awful his professor is and uses popular voice overs and muggles LOVE HIM. I mean LOVE LOVE HIM.

Wizarsd have no clue because even the best intentioned wizard can't really figure out muggle tech and muggleborns are too busy trying to fit in. The few that DO know him keep their mouths shut because they are BIG fans.

Anyway. Super famous tiktoker Harry Potter and his millions of followers and he has a whole platform all to himself where he can lowkey warn people about death eaters so when they show up eventually people run or attack them on sight.

“You don’t mean that,” Harry said with a small smile.

“I do! I hate it! I hate you!” He took another step back when Harry slowly approached him.

“You don’t mean all those words, Tom.” 

“I do—” Harry’s arms wrapped around him, and something inside Tom broke as he went limp against Harry, who held him in a strong firm so both wouldn’t fall. “You’re lying. You have to be lying… No one has ever…”

“I’m not,” Harry whispered.

Tom didn’t have the strength to embrace him back, too emotionally drained with all this new physical contact. His head was on Harry’s shoulder. The scent of cinnamon and cedarwood filling his nose. In a defeated tone, he said, “Tell me, then.”

“I love you.”

Tom shut his eyes and quietly let out a sob. For the first time hearing the words he had always wanted to be told as a small child.

6'6" Voldemort pissing a 5'6" harry off simply because of all the looming he does, so harry ends up sitting on Ron's shoulders everytime he is in the presence of the dark lord. it always takes an awkward amount of time to get up there but it's worth it to be taller than the guy and prevent him from looming so much

Oho, my, my... It would appear that I've upset some people tonight. Oho, how delightful.

Truth tends to do that, I've found.

My intent with my new JKR's writing analysis series is to help others improve their writing. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not a series where I'm trying to bitch about anything. I'm just obsessed with writing. I love helping other writers become better and stronger.

I don't actually care about JKR.

We can always dissect other authors after I'm through with her.

As a teenager decades ago, I used to idolize her and her writing. However, I learned that when I copied her, it weakened my writing. I quickly outgrew her.

I wish to prevent this mistake for others. My desire is to help young aspiring writers to critically analyze JKR's writing (and potentially other authors) without putting this woman on a pedestal.

After all, we don't need the canon texts anymore. Fanfiction writers as a whole have so greatly surpassed her on a glorious scale. The writing skills of fanfiction writers far exceed JKR. If this idea and concept triggers you and makes you angry, then you might want to take a step back and self reflect on that personal issue.

And if you still have a problem, then this writing series is obviously not for you.

That's okay.

If I'm the only brave person around here to dissect J.K. Rowling's writing and reveal its true nature, then so be it.

Beginning

I watched Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and idk, I'd like an AU where Harry falls in love (one-sided) during the journey and realizes, at the very end, he has to kill the love of his life if he wants to defeat Voldemort. And Tom/Voldemort will only realize he also loved him years after Harry dies.

Consider me successfully wooed by you holding a knife against my throat.

Hey~ aww thanks! I'm glad I was able to get it posted while traveling and that you enjoyed it 😊 (I never get tired of cooking/Chef jokes)

Hmm I think at the moment, Avery is my favorite character to write in EYHO. It gives me a chance to write in a way that is like poetry - saying but not, using a word that is friends with the word that is usually used. Writing him is pure honesty and creativity, in the most convoluted way.

I feel most motivated to write during my everyday chores and such. I have more time to write at night, but I'm more inspired as I drift into my little daydreams during the mundane activities.

What these past few days have felt like

listen i get ppl are deeply into the whole “voldemort is far more powerful than harry”-thing because yeah, he is, but i also think harry should be allowed to bully him extensively. ‘powerplay this’, ‘powerplay that’ no! harry has no urge to be more powerful than voldemort! harry just wants to bully him!

doesn’t matter if harry ends up on his arm or through some convoluted fanfic logic in his head during the events of the series after he passes. harry’s sole goal is Ridicule The Dark Lord. he reminds voldemort daily that he got beaten by 1) a baby, 2) an 11yo boy with fire hands (apparently), 3) a 12yo boy with a sword and one (1) fang, 4) a 14yo boy who could run really quickly, and 5) a 17yo, malnourished, exhausted boy with a borrowed wand. he tells voldemort repeatedly that vee’s 15yo self bragged to harry’s 12yo self (no sword or fang yet) that he decided on his name change via anagram, like it’s cool. he reminds voldemort often that “lord flight from death” is a bit on the nose for a new name. he always says that whatever voldemort does is “no friend behaviour”. he tells voldemort things like “you know all of your followers except bella and barty would sell you to the devil for one corn chip right” and voldemort, without fail, will think “NO. THAT’S THE THING I’M SENSITIVE ABOUT”. he’s yelling “HA CRINGEE” about everything voldemort does. it’s devastating.

Ron, standing before a plate of warm cookies: Are these venomous?

Tom, smiling: No, Weasley, that is impossible.

Ron picks one out and walks off: Cheers!

Ron takes a bite and starts foaming at the mouth:

Tom: They are poisonous, however.

Harry: Did you seriously make poisoned cookies?? He could die???

Tom: This was a valuable life lesson. Besides, we have magic. He’ll be fine.

Harry: What the hell is the lesson here??

Tom: To pick up a dictionary and stop asking foolish questions.

Tom: And I’d be careful, Harry.. you may be next.

No but like this makes so much sense. Especially since the two pieces of soul would be mending themselves inside of Harry, who already has a fully intact soul.

in book 5 when voldemort tries to possess harry it causes them both to experience unbearable agony. dumbledore says it's bc harry is too full of love. but like. voldemort has been able to possess good people before. the diary possessed ginny without a problem in book 2. yeah there's also the thing with lily's love.

but i think a cooler explanation would be if it's because harry is a horcrux so voldemort possessing him is basically trying to put 2 pieces of his soul back together. and it's said the pain of repairing yourself is supposed to be near unendurable.
