On this day, 4 June 2020, 75-year-old peace activist Martin Gugino was violently attacked by police in Buffalo, New York, during a Black Lives Matter protest. While he was merely walking, he was shoved to the ground, smashing his head on the concrete, fracturing his skull. While he lay on the ground with blood pouring from one of his ears and pooling around his head, more than 12 officers walked straight past his unconscious body. He suffered a brain haemorrhage and spent weeks in hospital recovering, and suffered long-term memory and mobility impairments as well as hearing loss. Following the incident, Buffalo police lied and said Gugino merely “tripped and fell”. Then-president Donald Trump falsely claimed that Gugino was an “antifa provocateur” who was “pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment.” But the assault was caught on video. When the two attackers, members of the Emergency Response Team, were suspended from the police force, all 57 officers on the squad resigned from the unit in protest. This led many people to question the narrative of bad policing only being a problem of “a few bad apples”, as clearly every officer in the department supported their ability to violently assault members of the public with no consequences. In the end, there were no consequences for the perpetrators, whose charges were dismissed. What's funny is that in Canon this dosent fully apply to all the animals as humans keep cows and horses(seen in dragon slayer)

But I love mentioning just how big things would be in comparison if everything actually was sized up.

In the AU I'm working on planet Phyrria is on is larger, has weaker gravity(similar ish to that of the moon???) And is populated by mega flora and mega fauna. How it's all sized up is we took the average man vs an animal then scaled it up to a sandwing. All the tribe's also have different sizes in this AU but what's important is sandwings and nightwings are basically the middle ground between the super large and super small dragons.

So things size up like this.

The funniest thing in WoF to me is how everything is sized up for dragons to use and whatnot. Of course it would be, given they're like 20 feet tall and such.

This makes it so that scavengers are incredibly tiny and small in comparison to literally everything else. Apples are almost as big as a person's head. This makes the sizing pretty funny to look at

Let us not forget the amount of charcaters who are far as we know straight due to their backfires.

Aka most the queens. Most have had children and had a mate at some point. Coral and Scarlet had husband's. Thorn is shipped with Smolder when she isnt shipped with Stonemover. Smolder canonically had a girl friend before had but Oasis made them break up. Oasis didn't pop 3 daughters and 2 sons out of nowhere.

Not to mention how much romance, mostly straight is prevalent within specific characters stories. Perils crush on Clay, starflights crush on Sunny, tusnami and Glorys sepreate cool bois they dont offically get with, Moons love triangle. Turtles crush on Kinkajou.

Then looking at the winglets we get more of Arctic and Foeslayers romance. Legends of Darkstalkers main premise is love(in some ways)! All the main pov charcaters are in straight relationships! Clearsight gets with a *male* beetlewing! Fathom is so head over heals in love with Indigo his sister tries to keep them separated to keep him from using magic.

Also I'm pretty sure of the couple of queer ships mentions I thought only 3 of those were offical Canon. If that dosent show how the lgbt+ characters and relationships aren't being "forced" idk what does.

I really wish this blog would say something against these weird comments or just not post what I feels obvious rage bait

Most of the lgbtq relationships in wof seem forced, or squished into the plot as a last resort to have some diversity in there.

And there aren't as many straight relationships as people think.

I have a headcanon to explain this. Because peril ate basically coal/ Black rocks most her life and sometimes burnt food that basically counts as charcoal.

I believe skywings are geovores! They can eat rocks, and gems like dragons in MLP. Animals in real life sometimes swallow rocks to help with digestion. But in my mind skywings are capable of getting nutrition from the rocks like mlp dragons, not so much following real life animals as there are no proper geovores.

I don’t understand how Peril manage to survive on burnt food and not starve to death? Does burnt food even give any nutrients? Or maybe Firescales are able to live off burnt food and stuff…

I'm pretty sure I can list out every single implied straight characters and relationships in the series, and they far outway the only 2-3 Canon queer couples. Not to mention single charcaters!

All Characters I say are implied to be straight isn't to say they fully are but cause nothings been confirmed. And if it has I didn't know

2: Tsunami is implied to have a thing for Riptide who is also a seawing!

3. Glory and Murderbaskets will they won't they situation

4. Starlight and Fatespeaker are implied to get together(another same tribe relationship)

6. Smolder is implied to he straight and was inlove with a sandwing!

7. Scarlet had a husband so is also implied to be straight. She's also single

And 22 straight characters.

There is literally no way to say queer ships are being pushed by the offical series or take president over straight ones. And plenty are applied to be single.

Anon is smoking something to think 3 outta 22(give or take) is to many.

I really feel like there should be more straight, same-species relationships. Now, do I love all of them (Sundew x Willow be my fav), but most are all same-gender, or opposing tribes. It would just be a fresh change of pace to see regular ones more frequently. To top that off, to even see more dragons like Sunny who dont end up having a relationship at all. Not every dragon will find someone to love, and thats fine! I just feel like sometimes Tui is pushing in the LBGTQ relationships or just everyone must have someone to love at the end of their books

This is why it's so hard for me to ever post my art on social media. I have over a dozen social media's it makes my carrd look insane. I have a back log of nearly 100 artworks that barley see the light of day outside discord cause so many social media's makes it a full on chore to post. Even if I focused on the sites I had actually traction that's still quite a few places.

I do genuinely wanna post my art and male this my career but every algorithm is different and every new small site that's hard to break into makes it feel like a daunting task. It's feels like writing an essay posting 1 picture on 12 different places hoping just 1 person even notices

The survey is fully anonymous, and will consist of some multiple choice questions and a few open ended questions. It will cover experiences with healthcare as well as every-day experiences of discrimination, and an exploration of what your identity means to you. We want to use this information to create recommendations and develop training modules to improve understanding and healthcare for these populations.

The research team is composed entirely of neurodivergent researchers.

Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.

We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.

The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.

Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.

Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.

There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.

Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.

We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.
