thinking about this one au where michael distortion continues to work in the archives after michael shelley's death because apparently you can't leave the archives even if you aren't you anymore
i would consider the distortion my comfort character but honestly at this point it is just so much worse

about the tags. your headcanon actually fits so well into the story??? this does make sense and also. also fits my silly metaphor about the distortion as a chemical reaction um. "michael changed its nature as an entity" as one compound forms with another a new third compound that can react with a fourth. michael shelley and the distortion have formed something that is neither of them but has parts of both as well as entirely new qualities. and only then was this thing able to enter into the correct reaction with helen and come to its next form and. Yes idk it was a good ted talk indeed
Calling The Distortion "Michael" in the same way people give names to their appliances. Michael The Distortion = Basil The Microwave. That's not really its name and if you call it that it doesn't really fit
and this "michael" label leads to a miserable miserable existence where you have no choice but to fit into the "michael" thing because it's all you can ever be now. "michael" is now in your core though it isn't supposed to be there. there shouldn't be anything but this vague fickle ephemeral "you", a thing, but now you're doomed to be defined clearly someone, flesh and mind, you're caged in being "michael". i love the idea that there is always pain in the distortion's "body" and "mind". even with helen. it probably really hurts to be twisted and changed like that against your own nature. no wonder it's fucking angy

something about him makes me want to hold his throat and then throw him against a wall so he would squeal like a toy dog i want to put him in a blender and also go to MIT or something for Computers And Things major to learn in depths how he became such a pathetic thing, i want to pin him like the butterfly and get him the most beautiful frame and place it above my desk so that every time I'm working I can look at it and wonder anew how such a fucked up thing even exists. I have to put it under a microscope and study it for 10 hours every day until there is a research paper on the nature of his loserness I NEED to lock this thing in a specific area of my brain so that he could do nothing but flounder helplessly as a visual and audio illusion so that I could conduct an interview with him and one more to finally understand what the fuck is wrong with him. grown ass supercomputer and he dances with high school students at the helloween party. he's awful. why is he like that. who the fuck made him who are his parents why those japanese scientists thought it's a good idea. i love him more than the world
