The mix loaf

"I am lesbian and transgender. I am a working-class, secular Jewish socialist. So let my first words be these: I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Arab and Muslim people in this room and around the world in the battle against the real axis of evil: the White House, Pentagon and Justice Department. And with every breath and every sinew, I fight for Palestinian liberation. ... I do not believe that our sexuality, gender expression and bodies can be liberated without making a ferocious mobilization against imperialist war and racism an integral part of our struggle. The degree to which any movement is progressive or revolutionary is measured by its independence from the rulers of the society it seeks to change. ... The U.S. claims that it pumps billions of dollars into the Israeli military each year in order to provide a safe haven for Jewish people. What a vicious lie! El Nakbe, the terrible catastrophe of using terror to slaughter Palestinians and drive millions into a forced Diaspora, was established to create a well-armed colonial outpost for big oil in the Middle East. This reactionary, apartheid crime against the people of Palestine is carried out in the name of all Jewish people in order to pit Jews against Arabs. The key to righting this historic wrong is to fight Zionism and its U.S. master. The Palestinian liberation movement is an anti-colonial movement. And I work to be counted as one of the best fighters for Palestinian liberation." - Leslie Feinberg
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!
I'm really wondering how does Lena react when she realizes that Kara is smarter than she pretends to be
“Ow! Lena, jeez, stop—”
Lena does not stop.
Kara’s yelped ow is essentially a reflex at this point, more of a dramatic declaration than anything resembling a real indicator of pain. Usually, it’s enough to incite a ceasefire. Not today.
“Quantum what, you said!” Lena is advancing on her with a rolled-up magazine in her hand and fire in her eyes. The furious set of her features wrests Kara backwards, her hands up in surrender. The backs of her knees hit the couch and she floats herself over it on autopilot, still eyeing Lena’s makeshift weapon warily.
The new barrier doesn’t even give the younger woman pause; Lena clambers straight over the back of the couch as she corrals Kara toward the kitchen island.
“You sat there,” Lena growls, eyebrow arched to a lethal height, “and you batted your eyelashes and smiled your innocent, pretty little smile and you said quantum what? As if you haven’t been studying classical mechanics since before you were in diapers!”
“We didn’t have diapers on Krypton— ow! Okay, okay—” She ducks before Lena’s magazine baton can make contact again, darting around to the far side of the kitchen island. If she has to face Lena’s wrath, she’d rather do it with half a tonne of Calacatta marble that would be very expensive to replace as a makeshift buffer.
“I asked you about polyatomic anions and you stared at me like I’d started speaking Japanese!” Lena accuses, eyes narrowing as she brushes a rogue strand of hair back from her flushed face.
“I, uh. I actually speak Japanese.” Kara grimaces, face screwed up as she braces for the inevitable backlash. “Mōshiwakearimasen?”
The sound that breaks free from Lena’s throat is almost a snarl. She advances quicker than humans should be able to, crowding Kara against the stainless steel fridge as she swats at her none too gently with the magazine.
Kara cowers against the cool metal, arms up to shield her face. The blows are about as painful as a gentle breeze on her skin. She knows she could stop this in a heartbeat, knows Lena knows it too, but that’s not the point.
“I’m sorry I lied,” she tries from behind her forearms, one eye cracked open.
She watches Lena pout through the gap created by her crossed wrists. “Do you have any idea how much we could have accomplished if you’d told me the truth?” she admonishes, magazine dropping to hang limply at her side. “How many projects I got stuck on with no sounding board? How much of a difference we could have made if we’d pooled our resources and our intellect? God.”
Lena sighs as the fight seems to drain from her body, leaning her weight heavily into Kara’s. “God,” she huffs again. “You made me explain the EPR Paradox to you like you were a first-grader.”
Kara lets her arms drop from in front of her face, fitting her hands to the soft curve of Lena’s waist instead. Just to steady her, of course. It’s good physics, after all. “Yeah, but can you blame me? You’re so cute when you talk science.”
Lena swats at her again, weaponless this time. It’s light as a caress and her hand stays on Kara’s chest afterwards, fingers curling against her collarbone. “You’re impossible.”
Kara sees exactly how Lena’s softening to her, redoubles her efforts in response. “But I’m right. You get so excited when you explain things, so passionate. It’s beautiful.”
Lena, predictably, flushes a delicious shade of pink. She presses bashful hands to the warmth of her cheeks, ducking her head. Kara chuckles. Gives her waist a gentle squeeze, tracing the outline of her hipbones with her thumbnails.
“And I know you liked it too,” she hums, dropping her own chin to catch Lena’s gaze and hold. “You just admitted it. You thought my smile was pretty.”
“You are pretty,” Lena says softly. Her hands drop from her own face to the base of Kara’s neck, skating up her throat to the hinge of her jaw. Kara’s breath catches in her chest just as Lena’s hands jump up, squishing her cheeks together. “Pretty infuriating.”
“Is that what’s really bothering you?” Kara manages, words misshapen and mumbled between Lena’s squeezing hands. She stretches her jaw when Lena releases her, licking her dry lips. Green eyes track the movement with a tangible hunger.
Kara smirks, nails digging just the slightest bit against Lena’s hips. “Or,” she hums, low and smooth as the richest scotch, “are you just resisting the knowledge that you’re no longer the smartest woman in the room?”
Lena’s mouth drops open. “You really think you’re smarter than me?” she asks, words reverberating through their bodies where they’re pressed together. She leans in close, drags her thumb slow and deliberate over the damp heat of Kara’s bottom lip before she taps her cheek sharply with two fingers, cool and confident and utterly charming. “Oh, sweetheart. Game on.”

Peter Pan 2003, dir. P.J. Hogan
an absolutely amazing production. panning contrasts, stunning colours, beautiful costumes, clever sets, fantastic scores and fucking phenonmenal framing & camera movements (also very impressive stunts). I cry from beginning to end every time I watch it (which is not so often lol) just because the whole experience is so visceral & surreal it draws people in whether they want to be or not.
