emo hours are strong today

The sound of the doorbell ringing repeatedly was enough to wake you up from your spot on the couch. Seeing the clock prominently displaying the time, 3:24AM was enough to remind you how you had feel asleep waiting up for Wooyoung once again. Opening the door to see him drunk for what was the 3rd time this week, however, was enough for you to push you over the edge.

“Wooyoung, what the hell?” You groaned as he stumbled forward into your arms, almost knocking you backwards as his weight completely rested on your body. You pushed him back slightly, watching as he almost fell but caught himself last minute using the wall as support.

“What?” He looked annoyed by your actions and while his jarring tone would have made you feel bad before, you didn’t seemed phased by it this time around.

“It’s three in the morning and you’re coming home drunk again. What is going on with you?” You furrowed your brows as you watched him lazily remove his shoes.

“So what?” His words slurred a bit as he spoke, “It’s my life and it’s none of your business,”

“None of my business?” You weren’t sure why tears were building up in your eyes, “Wooyoung I’m your girlfriend and I get worried. I love you and I’m afraid that one night you’re going to get hurt coming back. I’m afraid you might not come back,”

“Why…Why wouldn’t I come back?” He moved closer to you, his hand immediately grabbing onto you for support. You grimaced at the stench of alcohol that lingered on his breath.

“You’re getting trashed and you can barely walk, let alone make it home. I don’t even know how you do it. I don’t want to wake up one day and find that you were in an accident driving home or that you fell in some ditch or-“

“None of that is going to happen,” Wooyoung rested his head on your shoulder, “Stop over reacting”

“Overreacting?” A few tears escaped your eyes, sliding down your cheeks, “Wooyoung…I’m so fucking tired of this,” You could feel yourself snapping. It had been weeks of this same situation and every time, you let it slide because you loved him. But after every time, you felt yourselves becoming more distant and you hated it but you knew you were slowly falling out of love with him. He wasn’t the same person who you had met two years ago at a music festival, who kept you from being pushed around in the crowds. He wasn’t the same person who took you to an observatory on your first date because he wanted to, as he put it, put the stars to shame by comparing them to you. He wasn’t the same person who helped you with studying for finals, who watched all the marvel movies with you in 2 weeks, who experimented different beauty masks with you, who held you when you were scared. No, now he was the person who was dosing off on your shoulder as you stood in front of him, terrified because you knew that these next few minutes would make or break your relationship.

“Please,” You shook his body gently, making him pull away and look down at you, his eyes void of care, “Please stop doing this. I’ve tried so much but it’s getting too overwhelming to handle. Wooyoung I’m worried and I…I love you but if you can’t clean up your act I have to…..g-go,” Your words were shaky and you weren’t sure if they were coherent as small sobs passed your lips.

“Really?” The scoff that left his lips pulled your attention up, “You’re so pathetic _____. You can’t handle it? I’ve been swamped and stressed because of my job and you’re overwhelmed? What do you even do, huh? You study and go to school and then you hang out with me? What’s so stressful about that? You’re being such a fucking bitch right now,”

You felt your heart dropping with his words and you knew this was the moment. You felt it slowly over the past few weeks but you knew this was the point where you were completely falling out of love.

“I’m going to bed,” He mumbled before pushing past you and trudging to your shared bedroom.

You weren’t sure how long you stood there, shock taking over your body as the tears stopped but when you made your way to the room, you found the boy passed out on the bed, light snores filling the air. Your body felt heavy as you walked over to the closet, pulling a suitcase out before laying it on the edge of the bed and filling it with as much of your stuff as you could find. Wooyoung shuffled around a bit in his sleep but didn’t wake up at your actions. Why would he? He was knocked out drunk and probably wouldn’t remember most of the night anyways. He could figure out what he had to in the morning but you wouldn’t be there to help him with that.
