Cadance and Shining Armor, a young royal married couple were asked by Celestia to raise Twilight as Celestia could not bring herself to do it. Shining and Cadance were close to Celestia and reliable ponies, and as the princess of love, Cadance and by extension her husband — were deemed as the perfect candidates to raise Twilight by Celestia. Twilight isn’t related to either Cadance or Shining in this au. Twilight grows up knowing little of her heritage except what she learns from books, and cultivates a strong affiliation for magic. As such, she is encouraged by Shining and Cadance to go to Celestia’s school of magic and her story progresses from there. She grows up very loved by Cadance and Shining and sees them as older siblings/adoptive parents. (This is subject to change)
