-Update-
I have now broken a second light with the same toss
Here’s a tip, from an idiot freshman.
Don’t
Over
Do
The
Toss
Even
If
You
Can
Lights are expensive
Trying to join DCI is the modern day equivalent of running off to join the circus
Is it normal to get super protective of your gear To the point where you will fight if you so much as see someone looking at your flags wrong?
We’re on our way to a UIL competition trying to quickly do all of our make up and suddenly the radio starts blaring.
The bus that the pit crew was on had its belt break and the bus started flaming; since the 2nd guard bus had the most space we were designated to pit up the crew.
When the bus stopped it was a mad dash to get eyelashes and mascara on, absolute chaos.
Then the pit comes on and they were in the back of the bus with the flag bags and stuff, I was the only guard child completely surrounded by pit members
And they were laughing about how much hair spray and glitter was in the air. This was fabulous
And surprisingly an interesting experience, being a freshman completely surrounded by Junior and Senior Pit crew.
I want to give a shoutout to anyone up in a northern band for having to deal with this weather all season. It’s finally fallish down here and we’re freezing alive, and anyone who’s dealt with bitchy weather is an impressive person, I couldn’t comprehend the difficulty of having to practice in snow or sleet, and if you have, then, your a fabulous performer and deserve more fine arts funding
Quite Frankly, I’ve only been doing this for 4 months now and it’s become my life. I don’t know what winter guard will be like and I love the seniors so much I don’t want them to leave us. It’s way to early to be thinking about this n all but it’s sad. Especially since all of them are varsity and that I’m not sure how much the two teams interact.
I love you Bri, Payton, Jazz, and Copeland, my captains, along with the other seniors, regardless of who stays for next season. All of y’all have a place in my heart and soul.
*sits in pile of guard flags*
I am the color guardian guardian of the color
I joined guard after I tried joining the band program but because the school I came from had an infamously bad program the director sent me down to the guard. I was heartbroken because I had my mallets and a piece I had been practicing for the last few months. Regardless, In the end, I’m way happier in Guard.
Usually I’m not like this but please follow this blog I wanna feel like it’s actually good for something because I’m particularly excited about making it
Nor will there ever be
just color guard things: bruised fingertips
