Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.

The Raven Witches Three are DONE! Ever since the first sculpting moment I've been looking forward to taking them outside & doing a little photoshoot, and it definitely worked out (tho I hope to have time for a slightly more leisurely one - this was snuck in during the 5mins my french press was steeping)!

I've also included some photos of previous stages of RavenLady in reverse order - penultimate two images are them slathered in Coyote celadon glaze (approx a 50/50 mix of rainy day & sapphire) & the last two were taken just after I finished scratching out their fancy sgraffito patterns through the black slip.

being autistic and using “big words” or sounding unnatural in conversation is like. i am different from everyone else and no one really understands me, so im trying my best to communicate and be understood by using very precise and exact language even if it doesn’t “sound right” in informal settings, so that i might bridge the gap in understanding between us. but now im weird AND talk funny.

i take things literally. i don’t get a lot of neurotypical humor and often feel left out of the joke or even feel like i’m the joke sometimes. i’m gullible. there’s no way to sugarcoat it or put it more nicely, i’m just gullible. i don’t always know what’s satire. i’m socially awkward and have a hard time befriending or remaining friends with anybody who isn’t like me.

much of the autism community puts so much emphasis on “all autistic people aren’t x” and not enough on “who cares if we’re x, we deserve rights”

this goes doubly for ID and nonspeaking autistics btw i just can’t speak to that experience personally
