Things have improved a bit on my end enough that I'm really missing the activity but now I'm feeling awkward about wanting to refollow people :')

Hey y'all, I've got to give a quick more OOC-focused update. A month or so ago I went through a huge energy crash I'm still kinda recovering from due to spreading myself too thin trying to keep up with too many things and do too many things at once.

I'm going to try to have a presence here again but I think I'm going to have to unfollow blogs that don't form a core relationship for my OCs because I simply don't have the energy to keep up with that much these days. Please don't read anything personal into it, I am just exhausted and have been at my limit for too long and I need my RP dash to be one I can easily catch up on in a few minutes.

I've never actually done RP in FFXIV but one of the things I really loved from the RP community was how people would add "RP hooks" to their character profiles. Exactly what you would expect, just a list of things that would serve as a good jumping off point for people who wanted to RP with that character and it's such a great idea I'm surprised it isn't more widespread in RP communities in general.

A trope that gets to me: 'guard dog' character and their partner who are both fully aware of it and honestly don't care/kind of like it. Someone says "call your guard dog off" and their partner does call them off. That person, their 'guard dog', is someone who is unreservedly, irrefutably loyal to them. Someone undoubtedly dangerous who is willing to kill, to maim, to obey, simply because of their love for one another. There's no manipulation involved— it is loyalty, brutal, dogged loyalty. And it goes both ways.
