Yes hello! Spiral headcanon: The more chaotic your outfit, the easier it is to navigate. Wearing a vest that embodies the hideous delight of a 1990's arcade carpet? There are signs with directions and the doors are labeled!
can everyone leave for a moment. I think a few minutes alone with this person’s brain would fix me
has anyone ever… like…. casually listened to the magnus archives. did anyone ever consume that podcast normally and then just.. do something else. I’ve never met someone who listened to tma and didn’t absorb it into their blood and bones
Hey girl! Are you Jonah Magnus? Would you like to be?
couldn’t stop thinking about my own dumbass post
my ADHD ass could never use a leitner properly even if my life depended on it. “read this specific passage to change the—” ok my eyes have already skipped to the bottom of the page. “one or two words is enough to—” and I zoned out and skimmed 2 pages so I’ll see ya later in the hell dimension
Distortion headcanons, you say….? :)
Fractals usually seem to have a pattern where the iterations get infinitely smaller.
However, the hallways and corridors and things within the distortion do not appear to shrink infinitely or anything.
This is only because the person is essentially inside of the distortion and therefore is basically also infinitely shrinking at the same rate as the place around them. To them, nothing appears to change, if that makes any sense-
Also, the “center” of the distortion is probably referring to “C” in the equation for the Mandelbrot set (Zn+1 = Zn^2 + C), which is the starting value for the set.
Uhhhh And Uh uhm er
Mirrors
Y’know that cool effect that happens when you put two mirrors up facing each other? I think that’s why they’re in the distortion.
the shrinking fractal hypothesis is canon now btw. I just made it canon actually. that is the best explanation I’ve read for infinitely branching hallways that isn’t “it’s just like that”
this is why all of you need to go out and adopt math people into your fandoms. see? see the benefits? (yes I work a STEM job. that doesn’t mean I know shit about it)
anyway that unlocked a memory. as a young child I used to sit between two facing mirrors in my house and just stare while moving my arms so they looked all messed up and honestly I think that’s why I’m like This
CONTENT WARNING: Body horror.
Spooky scary Shelley-tons!! Ok Michael Distortion fans, this one is for you.
Drawn in Storyboard Pro 20.1 with custom brushes from Rozlyn Waltz. The Magnus Archives is a podcast written by Jonathan Sims, Directed by Alexander J Newall, and distributed by Rusty Quill! This clip features voice acting by Jonathan Sims and Luke Booys!
Had a lot of fun figuring out how Michael moves! Now that I've drawn his grand entrance, maybe someday I'll draw the scene where he...uh...leaves.
this gutted me so badly on first listen that I had genuine difficulty liking Georgie afterwards. I get where she’s coming from, but oof. just straight up telling him that Melanie deserves healing despite the mistakes she’s made and he doesn’t. local guy cannot catch a fucking break
man. whenever jon sims is a relentlessly self-sacrificing martyr everyones like STOP IT YOU’RE NOT HELPING ANYONE BY GETTING YOURSELF KILLED. and then whenever he’s doing what he has to in order to survive everyones like YOU SHOULD CONSIDER STARVING YOURSELF AND DYING INSTEAD. guy cannot win.
Getting into the Magnus Archives fandom before you finish the series is wild because they’ve all made a collective decision to pretend the cast loves each other and it’s all just an office drama, supported by copious fanfic and fanart and things. And then you get to the actual content and it’s like,, most of them genuinely hate each other. Not even in a cute way, they genuinely want each other to die

Me on first day as the job interviewer: what are your greatest weaknesses. What are you weaknesses. What will make you break. Am i scaring you. What would you say is your greatest weakness. Aaaa! Anyway. Have you ever been attacked? What would you consider your greatest weakness.
