This is the story of my four-year-old sister whose only crime is to be born in northern Gaza. I hope it will touch you, because I don’t know what to say anymore. I don’t know what to share about our situation anymore.

I have lowered my campaign goal because I have lost hope. I wanted to complete it before March when a new semester will begin so I could register for university again and focus on nothing but my studies. I wanted to rebuild our home so we would avoid the years and years of displacement we went through last time it was destroyed. Maybe I dreamed too big. Maybe my life isn’t meant to be rebuilt.

There is now less than $7,000 left to reach the goal.

Can we please achieve that at least? I won’t have a home, it’s okay. I’ll study in a tent, but at least I’ll be able to somewhat focus if our needs are met. Please, I’m not angry if you can’t donate. I understand. But please at least share, it helps a lot too

"Flourished Peony" (《国色芳华》) is a really cool Chinese drama that dives deep into the Tang Dynasty. It takes a close look at the fashion, makeup, and etiquette of that time. The show’s team did a ton of research, to restore Tang Dynasty artifacts to get the hanfu and makeup just right. You can really see the effort they put into making everything look authentic and true to the era.

If you're into Tang Dynasty Hanfu,Makeup , or the whole vibe of that period, I highly recommend watching this drama. It's a great way to get a glimpse of ancient Chinese culture through a really well-done romantic drama. ---------------

【Debate on the Interpretation and Wearing of the Li Chui Tomb Crown Ornaments】

The crown ornaments unearthed from the tomb of Li Chui (李倕) are still a topic of debate due to the fact that the pieces were found scattered, making the exact method of wearing unclear. The version currently displayed in the museum is a reconstruction based on the collaborative efforts of Chinese and German experts. However, some scholars in China have a different view, arguing that this ornament may not necessarily be a "crown."

Fwe can refer to the perspective of the author(@左丘萌) of Chinese Beauty and Adornments: The Tang Dynasty Daughters (《中国妆束：大唐女儿行》), who offers an alternative interpretation of how this crown ornament was likely worn（If anyone are interested, you can save the picture and translate it through the translator）

hello everybody! thanks to your hard work, we were recently able to meet our goals for two previous campaigns: one for ahmed, and one for shimaa (proof of donation post coming soon!). after the ceasefire was declared, the people of gaza are in a state of uncertainty - and the people of ahmed's local refugee camp are no exception. while some still had houses that remained standing (though with significant damage) and were able to return, many now are forced to live in continued displacement as their homes were completely demolished.

due to the seriously damaged state of gaza's infrastructure, the refugee camp that we work with has extremely restricted access to electricity. many people have to walk a long ways to charge their devices, and each charge costs a fee of around $3 each. many people in the refugee camp use their devices to continue working remotely to support their families (like shimaa), contact their family if they are spread out across the gaza strip or abroad, and to document their lives through the genocide. ahmed himself depends on electricity to stay in contact with us and with the people of the refugee camp in order to respond to any urgent situations that arise at all hours of the day.

as such, ahmed believes it would be beneficial for the people of the refugee camp to set up their own solar panels, both to reduce the expenses that the people of the camp have to pay and to give them more independence.

how it works:

per ahmed’s request, simk and i are collecting money on his behalf. the money that is collected in the paypal account will be sent via wire transfer to ahmed as soon as we meet the fundraising goal. it generally takes 3-5 days to transfer and for ahmed to get notification that he can withdraw the money. ahmed texts us as soon as the money is transferred and put to use.

ahmed will take videos and photos to document the process of buying and setting up the solar panels for the camp. i will share selected videos and photos on my blog so that you all can see what we can do with our collective efforts!

a small note here: to preserve the privacy and dignity of the displaced, and to avoid issues with the tumblr staff, i will be careful with what i choose to show publicly. ahmed will also refrain from publishing his own photos on social media for this same reason. if you have any other specific requests you would like to see as proof of your donation going to good use, please DM me.

please help us complete this campaign! things are still extremely difficult for the people in gaza. i can't even truthfully say that they are no longer under active threat as the israeli army continuously ignores the ceasefire deal. this will be a small, but crucial step in helping the people of the refugee camp persevere after the genocide has taken so much from them.
