It's fanfiction it doesn't have to be perfect it doesn't have to be accurate this is a hobby you're doing this for fun it's okay if it isn't perfect and polished you're doing it for fun [talking to myself in the mirror]
Anyone else have that moment where the lights flicker but you low-key gaslight yourself into thinking it was just a really prominent blink?
...just me?
Birthday's are weird. Why am I being celebrated for something I had zero control over?
It's like when someone says "good job" after you've just thrown up.
Like I'd rather not have but thanks I guess.
I was around 16 and was watching a collab between Rowan Ellis and Alice Oseman in promotion of Loveless' release. They were going over common misconceptions about asexuality and sharing personal experiences, and it was the first time I had ever really learned anything about the label. Alice was sharing bits of her experience as an ace/aro person and I found myself relating a bit too well. That video sent me down a rabbit hole of other wonderful content creators, including the living legend Yasmin Benoit herself, and it's to them that I credit my aroace awakening.
Let's talk about our gay/queer awakening moments!
Mine was when I was like 16 scrolling through tumblr and saw a joke that said something like "If you used to make all your sims gay then you're queer now" and that just hit me like a ton of bricks lol
Also when Jade started counting in "Take a Hint" on Victorious ๐ฅต
What's yours?
I would fucking DIE if someone wrote this in my comment section, oh my GOD!
trying to think of what to write in an ao3 comment that isn't just "blew my cock and balls straight off"
me, reading my own incomplete writing : *gasp* and then what happened?
Now what am I supposed to do? Get a good night's sleep? Work on my current wip? Yeah, right.
So you're an alien (just go with it) and you have to write a report on human studies.
You with me? Good.
Okay so you go to your local human library (stay with me here) to find some research material but...
Oh no! You only used research from the ritualistic cult section!
We following? Awesome.
So now your entire knowledge of the human race is just ritualistic cults.
Makes sense? Great.
Then you get invited to a humans birthday party (there's a point here I promise) and it's time for cake.
Everybody on the same page? Super.
Alien (that's you) watches as this lovely dessert is brought out and wax sticks are placed into it. The wax is set on fire and everyone gathers in a circle to chant. Once the chanting is complete a chosen one makes a wish on the flaming wax sticks (thus embuing the cake with the magical wish powers obviously) and blows the fire out. Everyone eats the treat and the annual ritual is complete.
All of this is to say...
Birthdays do be a little culty.
Etsy people are the salt of the earth. Not only do you get a unique product but they always send those little notes and drawstring bags. Sometimes you'll get stickers or candy. Someone once sent me two free masks with order! Point is Etsy sellers are too good for this world and are truly out here doing the lords work. Hats off to you guys *flips top hat in the air dramatically*
another thing abt me. i use the ๐ emoji very liberally. im not being sarcastic or passive aggressive im being like cool ok or thanks for the heads up or etc. to me ๐ is an innocent happy polite little emoji
QPRs are basically homebrewing your relationship. I know what I want but it's far from all guidelines and prerequisites that society has given us. I could email you a PDF though.
Pretty much what it says on the tin^ ao3 account @Haylee_BB ace/aro bean๐๐ In a committed relationship with Barbara Manatee.
