You would sooner reply with ‘or something’ than deny, but the rational part of your mind always interfered. Katsuki had asked you long ago to keep your little... relationship secret, arguing that it would only fuel your friend's teasing and gain the public's unwanted attention. These were all fair reasons, so you found yourself agreeing without a second thought.
Once you get rid of the metaphorical cotton in your mouth, you reply, “No, we're just friends.”
But ‘friends’ don't bend you over their desk, the kitchen counter, or the bathroom sink. They don't plow into you like they've been dying to feel your soaking cunt wrapped around their dick all this time. And they most definitely don't whisper sweet nothings in your ear while their hands roam your curves, the ones they've memorized like the back of their hand.
Friends don't use each other's bodies like you and Katsuki do. Roommates don't spend the night in each other's rooms, bare and entangled to the point where you aren't sure where he ended and you began. At first, it was just a means to destress from all your college workload; no kissing, just pure, impersonal sex, usually from the back and happening as quickly as possible. You guys were trying to blow some steam, not catch feelings.
But things have definitely changed over the year and you weren't sure how to feel about this arrangement anymore. You were lying on the couch one day, aimlessly scrolling through your phone when the door to his room slammed open — a daily occurrence, given the spiky-haired man's flickering temper.
What you didn't expect is having him stomp over to plop on top of you, burying his face in your chest while his arms snuck around your waist. He's gotten more physically affectionate since you first started living with him, but it never failed to surprise you whenever he'd seek comfort in your presence. You had an inkling you'd never get used to it, not when your traitorous heart thumped so aggressively in its confines that you were afraid he might be able to hear it.
“Did something happen?” you mumble, feigning nonchalance as you continue scrolling on your phone, much to his dismay.
“No,” Katsuki replies gruffly, nuzzling further into your plush chest.
To that, you quirk a brow and tilt your phone to the side, eyes settling on his carmine ones that were already studying you. Struggling to fight the blush creeping on your cheeks, you inquire once more, “Did Kiri beat your ass in Mortal Kombat again?”
The blond pushes himself up, staring at you with newfound anger at the mention of his friend, “That bastard has to be cheating! I swear, I press every button as fast as I can and he still wins. It's insane.”
A giggle slips past your lips before you can stop it. “Or he's just got faster fingers. Don't beat yourself up too much, 'Suki. It's just a game.”
He doesn't seem to appreciate that response, because he drops his full weight on you out of nowhere, huffing while essentially squeezing the life out of your poor body. You squeak and smack his broad shoulders to push him away, phone falling to the ground in the process.
“Katsuki! You're heavy!”
“Kiri has got faster fingers, huh?”
“Well, he beat you, didn't he?”
“That doesn't mean anything.”
“It does, though!”
You writhe helplessly beneath him and laugh at the stupidity of the situation. Is he seriously mad that you said Kiri had faster fingers? He didn't usually get jealous, so you couldn't understand why exactly it bothered him so much. But you'd be lying if you said you didn't enjoy seeing him like this, teasing you with that ridiculous grin on that extremely kissable face of his. It was kind of endearing and also annoying at the same time and it vexed you beyond belief.
“Get off me, you fiend!” you say between giggles before one of his hands reaches up to squeeze your cheeks, pushing your lips out which instantly shushes you.
“Say my fingers are the best and I'll get off.” His offer was doable, however, you had the bad habit of not listening to get a reaction out of him. You wouldn't call yourself a brat, but...
You go limp under him, chest heaving from the exertion of trying to push that beast of a man off. “They're average at best,” you say, the words coming out muffled from the strong grip he had on your cheeks that kept you from smirking.
“Liar,” he huffs, voice dropping as he leans down and stares intently at your puffy lips, still sticking out from his grasp. Forcing the admission out of you by sealing them with his plump, eager ones.
It's sloppy, given that you can't quite move, but he works through it. His tongue tangles with yours quickly after it sneaks into your mouth, swallowing your little noises of protest. You didn't mind his kisses, you could never, — in fact, you've begun to crave at least one a day — but you did mind his insanely muscular body crushing you.
You try pulling back, only to have his mouth follow yours ardently, melding to its shape. The simple action makes you dizzy, messily returning your tongue to his while cupping the back of his head, fingers brushing over the trimmed tufts of hair on his nape. Katsuki is anything but gentle when it comes to making out, mostly because it's his way of showing how much you truly mean to him. Words fail him any other time, but not when the two of you make love or lock lips. It's something akin to a raw, unfiltered yearning that has your mind reeling, wondering if this is how all friends with benefits act. You know it's not.
“C'mon,” he groans into your mouth, shifting so as to not hurt you, “Stroke my ego a little.”
A breathless giggle fans over his lips and he fights the genuine smile that pulls at them, offering a rather awkward one instead. “Isn't it big enough already?”
Katsuki smirks, his nose nudging yours while raising a brow. “I don't know, you tell me.”
You fight the urge to roll your eyes, settling on just pushing his shoulders a little harder than before. “Pervert. Fine, your fingers are the best. Happy?”
He gazes at you for a while, drinking in your features. Staring at you is one of the things that makes you feel flustered the most and he knows it, which is why he often uses it to his advantage. Although truthfully, it's simply become a force of habit now to admire your features.
“What about my dick?” he plays the intense eye contact off with a joke, blatantly ignoring his racing heart.
“Oh my god, Katsuki, really?”
“Well?”
“I'm not answering that!” You successfully shove him off, sitting up while he catches himself on the opposing armrest and chuckles. God, he sounds so good when he laughs, you want to punch him.
Huffing, you pick your phone up from where it had been discarded on the ground before stomping away. You don't get far, his hands snaking around your waist to pull you onto his lap in a feeble, yet successful, attempt to prevent you from retreating to your room. The realization that you didn't fight it because you wanted to spend more time with him makes your stomach feel fuzzy; his bad jokes, gruff behavior, and all simply draw you in further. It makes you rethink your whole friends-with-benefits arrangement, chewing thoughtfully on your lower lip.
“Hey, stop that,” Katsuki says sternly, aware of your lip-biting habit, “Stop thinking.”
Begrudgingly, you glance sideways at him, a small pout on your lips that he can't resist kissing away. His toughened palm finds your cheek, cupping the soft skin lightly and tracing your cheekbone with his thumb. The position is less than ideal, but you try your best to kiss him back, although it's more or less sloppy. He likes it best when it's messy, like you're reaching for his lips out of pure desperation and it's the hottest thing he's ever seen. He opens his eyes midway through, observing the face you make when you think no one's watching you. When you're being kissed senseless.
You claw at his bicep, unable to stay twisted that way any longer without the raging back pain following your early adulthood. He has the audacity to laugh against your lips, then leans back and places his arms casually on the backrest of the couch while you move to straddle his lap.
“Want a massage, nerd?” the blond teases and you bite at the side of his neck to shut him up, a low hiss escaping his throat from the unexpected, yet welcome, pleasure.
Trailing open-mouthed kisses up his neck and onto his jaw, you huff. “As if you're faring any better.”
His bold hands have no problem slipping under your shirt after so much teasing, pawing at the mounds of your chest. “Unlike you, I go to the gym. Sorry, sweets, but I'm in prime condition.”
“Don't call me that,” you find the sweet spot that has him immediately groaning, abusing it with your teeth until you feel his hips involuntarily buck up into yours, drawing a grin from your lips.
He had no idea how he managed to make you straddle his lap and kiss him into oblivion, but he wasn't complaining. If anything, he was very thankful for it, wanting nothing more than to destress after his little ‘fight’ with Kirishima.
“Why? You like ‘doll’ better?” you suck harder, a purple mark forming on his skin that eggs you on. “Baby?” that one pet name has your breath hitching, which doesn't go unnoticed by him.
“Guessed it on the second try,” he gloats and you just bite him harder, earning a growl out of the overly confident man.
His fingers fall to your hips, digging into the exposed sliver of skin between your shirt and pants as he guides your movements in rhythm with his.
“So? Anyone caught your eye?” you inquire while leaning back, rolling your hips just perfectly to make him see stars for a brief moment before your question finally reaches his ears.
A quirked brow creases his forehead as his half-lidded eyes scan you, an undecipherable expression on his face that you wish you could've read. His movements don't falter, though, and neither do yours. It's much easier to talk while drunk on each other, after all.
“Why are you asking?”
“Just curious.”
“‘Just curious’, my ass. Out with it.” A hard smack is delivered to your rear and you flinch from the impact, moaning a little too loudly for your liking.
But you don't press on, choosing to grind against him faster, to make him forget about that seemingly out-of-nowhere question. He grunts and throws his head back and much to your dismay, completely stops your movements with the same hands that guided you just seconds earlier. You curse under your breath. He never stopped you quite like this before and you scold yourself for asking something so dumb in the first place, knowing it probably bothered him now.
“Tell me, Y/N,” the use of your name is scarce, so you know it must've really riled him up.
Before you can nip your bottom lip again, he cups your jaw and drags it away from your teeth with his thumb, your heart fluttering at his thoughtfulness. Fuck, your heart fluttered.
“I...” you gather your words with a deep inhale, “I think we should stop this.”
“What the fuck do you mean?”
“Kissing. Fucking. I don't want to do it anymore.”
“You had no problem with it just a few seconds ago,” there's an undeniable shakiness to his voice when he leans his forehead against yours, heaving a small sigh, “What's wrong?”
“I can't...” you weigh your words carefully, heart hammering in your ribs. It's now or never. What you say next will ruin your friendship no matter what. But you let it out like a prayer, whispered into the silence of your shared apartment, in the intimacy of your proximity, “I can't stop myself from falling in love with you.”
It's quiet. It's so quiet you can hear your every breath, every thump of your rhythmically beating heart, every creak of furniture adjusting somewhere that seems so far away now. Because his hold on your hips falters and you flinch, prepared for the worst rejection of your life. Because a shaky exhale slips past his lips and his hands force you to face him head-on — ruby eyes communicating what a thousand words couldn't.
But his lips seal the deal. Unlike any other time you've kissed, he molds his lips to yours slowly, gently, as if afraid you'd disappear if he gets any rougher. And it's like he's been waiting for much longer than you could comprehend to hear you say those words from the passion he pours into the kiss alone, amplified by his hands mapping the wings of your back as if you're an angel and you don't get it, you don't understand why he's pulling you in, not pushing you away—
“Thought you'd get it by now,” he licks your swollen bottom lip, “I love you, dumbass.”
Oh.

One piece Wano thoughts part 1
I was kinda dreading those "filler" chapters before Wano starts, and Oda does what he does and makes it all so interesting. Shanks is able to walk in and talk with the elders?! The empty throne was such a cool idea for unison (even if it's actually a government lie). Who the fuck is Imu and why is there a giant straw hat?!
Struggling more than normal with following who is who with all the exposition happening and the very very Japanese names.
Love Luffy and Zoro together on their own. Sad that only lasted a minute. Zoro really wanting to see the sword Luffy straight up stole is hilarious.
Kaido's introduction is fantastic.
Mihawk caring about Perona as she's leaving makes the he's the adoptive dad headcannon official. Such a softy.
Do not believe Komurasaki is dead for one minute. Was thinking she was Momo's sister for minute but maybe not. (Update: HA! I was right)
Luffy using being in prison as a training opportunity is the most shonen thing ever
Mad we didn't get to see how Law got out of Hawkins trap. It's implied Drake helped, I guess. But not clear. (I just want to see my man doing more things)
That panel though of Law in cuffs, bloodied, kimono open....thank you Oda.
Kid being mad about Killer is super cute
Indifferent about the warlords being abolished so far. Will see where that goes.
Storytime with Sengoku is kinda funny. Like can't let him leave but can't give him any real jobs.
Oden's whole backstory got me crying by the end. Get it's part of the point, but shame him and Luffy don't get to interact, they'd have fun together.
Love this. Perfect. ❤️
Katsuki is trying—FUCK, he really is fucking trying not to make a sound, but it's way more difficult than what people think.
And when he hears the door to the hallway open, he immediately reacts covering his bed and himself, bringing the covers almost to his naked chest. He grabs a book that is in his nightstand and he pretends to the best of his ability to be immerse in reading that stupid book.
Two knocks to the door of his room can be heard and he fakingly sighs in annoyance as he says, "come in".
The distinctive red hair of his roommate appears first before his face, "Everything alright, man?" Kirishima smiles.
Katsuki rolls his eyes in real annoyance this time before replying a simple yes. He feels a thick drop of nervous sweat rolling down behind his neck that he is very skilled to hide by simply scratching the back of his neck, but it seems Eijirou hasn't noticed yet. The blond is very proud to admit that he is good at hiding. Stuff. And emotions.
The red head nods before saying, "Hey, Y/N is coming over for dinner. I don't want to bother you, but do me a favor? Be sweet to her. She kinda has a crush on you."
Katsuki pulls up an eyebrow, looking as oblivious as he can, "Oh, really? I had no idea..."
Eijirou rolls his eyes at his best friend, "Of course you didn't. You of all people wouldn't know even if she confessed right at your face."
Katsuki doesn't answer back.
"Anyway, I'm going out to buy some groceries. Need something?"
"Nope," he answers, his attention back to the book he is actually not reading. Eijirou nods as he closes the door again and walks out.
Katsuki doesn't dare to move until he actually hears the front door of the apartment open and close. And that's when he can't avoid the snort that it's stuck at his throat, waiting for desperate release. Next to him, the covers finally move as you peak from under them, frowning in annoyance at him.
"Shut the fuck up," you protest, your hair tangled all around, cheeks cutely rosy and sweat obviously thanks to the thick covers. He can't help but laugh out loud. "It's not funny!"
You try hard not to laugh with him as you climb up, straddling his hips, your glorious naked body making him distracted from his previous amusement. He sits up too, big and strong arms surrounding your waist as you interlace your fingers with his hair at the back of head.
You both smile at each other, your nose caressing his cutely, and he feels like eating you up.
"So you have a crush on me, hmm?"
"Shut up," you say, hips beginning to move to create friction between your naked bodies as your lips find his again. Tongues fitting to gain control as his hands travel down to your ass to guide you in your movements.
A crush? Oh dear... if Eijirou only knew...
a.n; y/n and kirishima are best friends too. only katsuki and y/n are kinda(?) dating (?) fucking (?) fwb (?) lol idk 🙃
Follow up to this comic where Law is super high at the same time that Cora returns after 13 years
Law is having A Time

Finished Whole Cake Island. Spoliers. In no particular order.
Thoughts:
Since Fish Man Island, the damn crew can't stay together for more than two minutes. It feels a bit just Oda's writing style. But it also feels like a handicap for the crew. Cause if they're all together, they'd be too strong or something. Missing the full crew antics though.
Luffy messing up the cooking immediately into the journey reminds me back to him yelling at Arlong of all the things he can't do and why his crew is important.
Are the straw hats actually that dumb they fell for Pudding's act? Like. Come on guys. You're in enemy territory, trust no one.
Just, poor Sanji. This sweet boy had such good intentions with leaving the crew to settle this shit. And then it's one thing after the next with getting backed into a corner.
He genuinely could have made a life with Pudding. And been happy. Them baking shit together every day. And then she had to be a bitch. Him crying in the rain got me crying.
His sister could have told him way sooner the bracelets were fake though. Like come on. Why switch them if you're not gonna tell him.
Fuck Germa. That shit coded and just.... fuck them.
Love when Nami's evil pirate queen side comes out. Using the vivre card to control the forest. Distracting, using, and eventually straight up stealing Zeus. Like anyone who shits on her can sit the fuck down. She's great.
Brook is underrated. Yes his power is clutch against Big Mom's soul soldiers and such. But him fighting and getting not just the road ponegliff but all three that they had. Beautiful.
Hilarious using random people to continually call out that's not how bodies work, when they do something stupid to heal or just isn't biology.
The wedding is utter beautiful chaos and I loved every moment of it.
Big Moms backstory. She ate people?! The people she loved?! Did not see that one coming. Very surprised. ALSO does that mean anyone could eat someone to gain their fruit? Or did she like eat her whole and that's the only way? Or cause it's the soul fruit it could be passed that way? Questions.
I love when the crew gets to use their skills. Sanji knowing how to recreate the cake and making one that is deadly delicious is fun. I wish they did this more. Like Chopper used his medical knowledge in the Thriller Bark fight and then kinda never again. Do it more!
Sanji making it his business to get Luffy back to the sunny was sweet. His extra retribution for what he put Luffy through.
Sanji protecting Luffy's head while trying to get back to sunny is so freaking precious. I squealed during those panels.
Sad that Pudding felt she couldn't let Sanji remember their kiss. Like why girl?
Kinda really like Bege after all that. His fruit is a little silly but fun. Love a man who loves his wife. One piece could use more romance damn it.
Chiffon's Dad sacrifice had me crying. Dads loving their daughters will hit me in the feels every time.
Fuck Judge. Sanji saves you all, tells you to get lost, you agree, to then show up and yell at him for being a failure. Yes I get it that he wanted to hear from Luffy what made him special, see it through his eyes, but still. Luffy's reaction is hilarious and Jimbei laughing at his reaction is even better.
Mixed feelings with Jimbei. Very strong, yes. Helmsman role is cool, like him appreciating the strength of Sunny. But he better not start doing Usopp shit of trying to play Captain.
Jimbei's crew never leaving and helping them the whole time was sweet. Aladdin and Praline are hot. Smash.
I like Katakuri. He started out a little annoying with the, I can see the future don't even try, attitude. But damn, that fight with Luffy. His respecting him by the end. I like his little backstory with Brulee. I don't think his mouth is that bad either. I'd smash.
Thinking about the length of the battles. Oda definitely did well conveying it but these are hours long. Cool way to show their strength.
Carrot's sulong is cool. That was a good payoff for the minks and the tease of the full moon.
Is Pedro actually dead? He seems actually dead. But we did this in Alabasta. Oda doesn't like actually killing people and it makes sacrifice plays like that less impactful. Sitting here thinking nah he'll show back up in X chapters from now like Oda always does. Ugh Oda.
We learn that Luffy can feel the emotions in things. Which, one, makes so much sense for future mister pirate king, luck of the universe. But, two, every time his crew or friends that left or fought him, he could feel their emotions. Why he has known they were lying and what they were really feeling. Chefs kiss on that one Oda.
This post is longer than I was planning......I miss Zoro, Law, and Robin.
Excited to get into Wano. Almost caught up!
@Pikahula posted about fourteen days of My Hero Academia. As much as they have given us, it felt wrong to not participate. MHA and this fandom has given me so much. I’ve written fanfic in private for some time and this felt like a good time to post some of it for the first time. Hope you enjoy my take on the Family prompt.
…………………………………………………………………………………………….
Content warning/context: Festival Day included a family event. Reader, gender neutral, Class 1-A, family/childhood trauma (emotional, narcissist abuse, CPTSD). Found family fluff, Katsuki x Reader fluff. Word count: 1.8k
…………………………………………………………………………………………….
Class 1-A made their way to the courtyard for their turns to meet up with their family members. You followed along quietly lost in a world of thoughts.
You understood why the school decided to add the family event. It was jarring for some students to be away from family. A part of you was worried that yours would show up today though, just to berate you yet again for picking a life they didn’t agree with. They signed off on the dorms more as way to get you out of their life than in acceptance of your choice to be a hero. Whatever their motive, you were excited to have a layer of protection from your family trying to antagonize you daily.
Mina interrupted your thoughts with a bubbly bump into your shoulder “Hey, are you excited?!”
“Oh, yeah for sure” you forced a cheerful smile.
“Raccoon eyes, what are you doing bumping into people?” Katsuki barked at her.
“I’m just excited.” she spun around in a circle while walking. “I haven’t seen them since…” You tuned out the conversation as you caught Katsuki’s gaze giving him an appreciative smile.
When families came up in conversation you brushed it off, kept things vague, or found some excuse to leave the conversation. It’s not like you remembered much of your childhood to have anything to tell. Therapist said that was the CPTSD trying to protect you, the build up of painful little moment after little moment over the years.
The only person who knew anything was Katsuki. Because of course he was observant of that too. One night studying at his house, he noticed you getting sad watching him interact with his parents, pressing it until you explained your situation. You don’t know if he fully understood being low or no contact with family. Even so, he helped take the attention off you when it came up in group conversations after that.
You found a bench on the edge of the courtyard and leaned back on your hands as you sat down. Seeing everyone smile and hug their families made you smile. Everyone was so happy, some of them crying with joy, others laughing, some bubbly excitement at catching up with family in person.
It all was almost enough to make you get up and join. Some of the groups were mingling together, it’s not like anyone would turn you away. As you started to shift to stand, you stopped yourself. This event isn’t for you. Let them all have their time with their families. Don’t be a burden, you thought.
That familiar wave of sadness, loneliness, anxiety, whatever it was, it washed over you. You threw your head back to look up at the sky. Blinking to the adjustment of light, or to blink away the tears that pricked at your eyes.
A woman’s voice forced your head to whip back forward. “Hi there.” It was Mitsuki.
“Hello.” You said as you sat up straight on the bench. You hadn’t notice how sprawled out your arms where. “Sorry, did you want to sit down?” you offered nervously. Had she seen me tearing up?
“Thank you, could use the break from all that commotion.” She laughed lightly as her hand motioned back towards Katsuki barking at Kaminari, while Masaru was apologizing to Kaminari’s family.
You couldn’t help the snicker that escaped and the genuine smile that crossed your face. For whatever reason Katsuki did that to you. Him just existing was like a bright star in the dark sky always leading you back to where you should be.
Mitsuki caught you watching her son. “That boy of ours is such a handful” she had the tone of years of exhaustion from raising him. It was the layer of love and admiration mixed in, that caught you off guard.
That was the difference, you thought. Your family would say you were exhausting but meant it to hurt, that they would have preferred not to have you, that you were a burden. Mitsuki loved her son through it all, his attitude, his explosive energy, she loved him. What does it feels like to have a family that actually loves you, you let your mind wonder before cutting the thought off and steadying your mind back to the conversation.
“He’s not all that bad.” you smiled “It’s just how he communicates.” You couldn’t help the flutter of butterflies in your stomach as you looked at Katsuki, now laughing with the group. He had the most amazing smile.
Before either of you could say anything else, you saw Katsuki notice you and his face change. Something of surprise, annoyance maybe, or was he flustered it was you talking to his mother. “Hey Hag, what are you doing bothering people?” He yelled.
“Katsuki!” Mitsuki stood with authority. “Could you behave yourself for once?” she yelled back at him. She turned back to you, “I’m so sorry for him.” she said with a sweet apologetic smile.
“None needed” you smiled as you laughed. You’d seen them interact before and knew he was nothing but bark towards her. You found it cute how they yelled and argued with each other, knowing it wasn’t from any place of anger or actual resentment, it was endearing.
As they continued to bicker from across the courtyard, your smile and laughter faded. You couldn’t stop the waves of emotions crashing into you. Your face slipped into your thoughts. I was so behaved, and yet they never treated me with such love. Why? What did I do wrong? Why wasn’t I good enough? Why couldn’t they just love me?
Even from his distance across the courtyard, Katsuki noticed your face drop. “YN, you good?” he called over, calmer, concerned. Their fighting put on pause as Mitsuki turned to look at you as well with that same concern across her face.
Tears were pooled at the rim of your eyes. “Huh?” you said as you blinked and they streamed down your cheeks, tuning you into why they were you looking at you with such concern. No, no, don’t be a burden.
You shook your head and brushed your eyes with the back of your hands. “I’m fine.” you called out, you didn’t even believe yourself. “I don’t know what happened” you steadied yourself a bit more. “Must have been a bug or something in my eye. I’ll be right back” you were already standing and a step towards the direction of the bathrooms before all the words were out.
“Dear.” Mitsuki said almost a whisper. She took the stride towards you and wrapped you in a tight hug.
What was happening? The mix of intrusive thoughts and the warmth of a genuine hug were pulling you at opposite ends. “I’m ok-ay” your voice breaking from the now full crying that was happening.
She gently shushed you as she pulled you in tighter. “It’s okay if this is hard.” How does she- Did Katsuki tell her?
“You’ve done so much for my son, please let me be here for you.” she pulled you back to arms length to look in your eyes. Her voice sterned, she made sure you were listening before saying “Family doesn’t have to blood. It’s who you want it to be. You are not robbed of new love because of any lack of it in the past.”
Your chin trembled as you held back sodding, tears escaping down your cheeks. She pulled you back into a hug. Maybe so you don’t embarrass her, crying out in the open like this. your sinical thought intruding. You forced it away. Maybe because this is how real parents comfort their kids. You thought to yourself in a softer voice. You wrapped your arms around her and pulled yourself into the embrace.
She continued “We will be here for you, anytime you need it.”
You let yourself sob, muffled into her.
She continued “You are important to my son, so you are important to me. More than that, you are amazing on your own. You don’t deserve to feel so alone, my dear.” You could feel her head shift looking back to everyone in the courtyard. “You have so many people here who are your family. I know any of them will let you lean on them when you need it. Okay?”
You nodded against her as your breath steadied. You weren’t sure if you fully believed her. You knew everyone here was your friend, but you never wanted to burden someone else with your mess of trauma. Would they still truly want to be there for you if they knew how much of a mess you actually were?
Your thoughts were interrupted at the sound of Katsuki barking from somewhere next to you. “What are you doing hag? Trying to suffocate them?”
You felt yourself move before you realized where you were going. Mitsuki had turned and softly pushed you into Katsuki’s arms. He hesitantly held you not sure what was happening.
“Katsuki, Stop yelling.” Mitsuki said as she hit the top of his hand passing by him back to Masaru in the courtyard. You saw her turn and smile sweetly towards you. Almost a giving permission or maybe giving the mom order of let it happen, let us love you.
Katsuki’s energy shifted, concerned, feeling the tension in your body and the jagged breaths from your crying. You were still sniffling as you regained composure. “Family shit get to you?” he said in a soft grumble as he hugged you with more intention.
“Yeah” you said softly curling into his chest. He was warm and smelled sweet. Something about him always calmed your nerves. Taking a deep breath, “I’m such a mess. I was trying so hard to not let it ruin anyone’s day.”
“Fuck that!” he barked above you. Taken aback, you looked up towards him. That cocky smile across his face. “You’re amazing. The only way you’re ruining anyone’s day is by sulking over here by yourself.” he said with confidence and a hint of pink crossing his face.
A soft smile settled on your face as you leaned into him. “Thank you” you mumbled sweetly into him. You could just barely see the pink turn a shade darker.
“Come on already.” he said turning away from you while grabbing you hand. “Let’s go back to the idiots.” This version of him was one of your favorites. He was softer, gentle even. He made you feel safe and important.
As you walked back to the groups of friends and their families, their bright faces washing away any anxiety you might have had joining in on their fun. You smiled and laughed and thought, maybe it was true. That it’s okay to be loved. It’s okay to make a new family.
That even though it was chance that you all were in the same class, that this was your family and you are forever grateful for them all.
Buhaha
