You're limiting who can view your posts.

Plain text is needed for:

1. Those who are affected by eyestrain and are visually impaired. Colored text, fancy fonts, they all make these harder for people to read,

and

2. Those who use screenreaders. Fancy symbols, especially ones from other languages, and tyoing quirks fuck screenreaders up. They can change the language, start spouting weird nonsense, or just flat out break.

There are also people who straight up get overwhelmed by all of this without being affected by these problems. Me, for example, I can read all typing quirks just fine but it's still very overwhelming.

Also, big text? There are people who already have their text on their phone set to big because they can't read, and they need plain text for big text.

If you can't provide plain text, you could always

A. ask plaintextpro (or another accessibility blog) for help

B. not format your text at all

Genderfluid micro label of the week: Demiflux

Demiflux is a form of genderfluidity and a demigender. Demiflux people have a gender that is partially fluctuating in its intensity and partially static (unchanging). The static part of their gender can include any gender or combinations of genders, while the fluctuating part can be any genderflux label/s or fluctuating gender. Demiflux is similar to demifluid, but the key difference is that the changing part of this gender is fluctuating in its intensity, but not fluid overall. This label is a subset of genderflux.

i am choosing to keep going.

its the hardest choice in thus terrible moment - my chest pains are worse then normal, my achey bones feeling more jagged then normal in this anxious moment. but i’m going to live because thats what they dont want me to do.

i have a family. friends. a boyfriend i love. classmates who deserve futures. teachers who care about me. people i voluenteer with. grandparents. cousins. online friends - fellow americans and from distant places who i care deeply about.

i’m a disabled queer afab young adult and i’m so fucking scared.

and i need to keep going. because if i let fear control me, i’m letting them control me.

i’m going to be myself no matter what they try and do to me, because i know i’m strong enough to keep going.

so write. create art. sing. tell your family you love them. make good food. watch your favorite show. listen to a good song. laugh at your pet’s antics. read a good book. be yourself, even in the face of hatred.

i may feel foolish to choose humanity in these circumstances but that doesnt mean i’m not going to try to make things better for the people around me.

will you do the same? will you choose to try and make things better? will you call your representives, try to talk to people who oppose you, try to show them that we’re human no matter what you say?

cause i sure as hell will.

call it wishful thinking, call it denial, call it someone trying to pick up the pieces and form themself back into something resembling functional.

we’re not going to stop having lives worth living because people think we don’t deserve them.

and we’re gonna fucking prove it.
