Sitting here watching s2xe5 and it’s the scene where Crowley is asking Aziraphale why his French is so bad and he says “I went to Monsieur Rossignol’s night classes in 1760”.
I decided to Google if this was a real person since the name wasn’t familiar to me, and instead I had my giant gay heart stomped on by Neil Gaiman once again.
The French word for nightingale: Rossignol
It’s the language of romance and Aziraphale took night classes with a Mr. Nightingale. I CAN’T BREATHE.
I still can’t get over that we got to see this.

The moment he broke into that smile, my first thought was how much he looks like the Doctor here. Because Crowley doesn’t smile like that. We’ve never seen him smile like that: with such pure, radiant, uninhibited joy and awe. Not as himself. The first scene of this season was so impactful because we saw what Crowley was like as an angel, just how adorable and pure he was, full of overflowing love and affection for all of creation… and how much of a contrast it was to Crowley as a demon – jaded, weary, guarded, hiding behind his dark glasses and a grumpy, sardonic demeanour.
But this smile. It’s dazzling. There’s not a trace of irony or snark or sneering amusement, nothing of the sort. He’s just happy. Yes, it’s one of those “pictures taken seconds before a disaster” moments, but he doesn’t know it yet. Right now, he’s watching two humans about to fall in love. Knowing it was him who made it happen. Him, a demon, putting just a little bit more love into this world. And this makes him so happy.
Everything about the way this shot is framed is so intimate, and vulnerable, and powerful. He’s resting his forehead against the window, with his glasses off, and his face is right in front of us, the viewers. It almost feels like intruding on a private moment… because it is. He’s only smiling like that because no one’s looking at him. He wouldn’t do it in front of anyone else. Not even Aziraphale, I think.
But imagine if Aziraphale had been there to see it. He would have perished and discorporated on the spot. He’d have fallen in love with him right there and then, if he hadn’t already fallen in love with him many times over.
I don’t give a fuck if they kiss in S3, I can take it or leave it. The only thing I want is for Crowley to smile at his angel like that. And for Aziraphale to see it.
crowley
Son meets Father
Tis but thy name that is my enemy.
In a different universe, the Guardian of the Western Gate has caught the Serpent red handed and dragged him on top of the wall....
And yet, Crawley hasn't been smitten yet so there is perhaps some wriggle room with Aziraphale after all.
What started as a simple light and shadow experiment ended up as a painted piece soooooo ..... Have at it
(I think it's best viewed with brightness all up sorry)
The confession we saw was rushed. I think Crowley could tell something was different. It was now or never. And that’s why he started to confess then. But
his original plan was to take Aziraphale to the Ritz. They would get into the Bently, yellow tulips on the backseat, like we can see. Because yellow is pretty, like the angel said before. And A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square would play, he had put it on queue, we heard it. And they would get to the Ritz, have a wonderful breakfast. He would give him the flowers, take him back home, give him a lift, like in the movies, and then he would confess. And they could kiss at the door before they went inside.
But instead his confession was rushed and desperate and not at all like what they show in the movies. It was painfully real and unmagical.
this post made me so happy :""">
You know what I love about artists?
I love how much time they've put into their hobby. Visual art always starts off sloppy and awkward looking but all those artists out there decided to not be discouraged and keep going. The results are phenomenal to see and I hope they realise that.
I love how artists have their favourite parts of drawing. Some love traditional and others prefer digital, but it all looks fantastic. Even the "quick sketches". (Especially the quick sketches those are so damn neat okay how do you make the pictures happen?)
I love how they make the pictures happen. This is a personal thing for me, as someone with difficulty visualising. Being able to see something in front of me fills in so many blanks that I just cannot fill on my own and adds so much life to a concept.
I love their patience. Taking the time to sit down for anywhere from ten minutes to six hours of their day (or more???) to make a doodle or redraw the same line 20+ times or struggle with colour pallets is just. Awe-provoking. You're all incredible.
I love how so many of them are kind. So many artists are so kind and lovely and I am so happy to call many of them my friends.
I love how artists will post an honest to god MASTERPIECE and say "sorry this looks so bad" like they somehow don't realise that they've created a work of... well, art.
I love artists, man.
Well, according to Neil Gaiman...
And I'll just drop this here...
You know, just in case the Good Omens fandom hadn't cried enough today.
