the evolution of dean and cas' relationship is absolutely insane
castiel becomes an ipad kid
when you've always secretly thought of yourself as some kind of monster and then you start to become one and you believe, like you always have, that everyone will leave you but then your angel reaches for your shoulder and reminds you that you are worth saving, always, and that he will never leave you, no matter what.

thinking abt this one post someone made a while back abt stanford era dean having a kid and the mom doesn’t want to be involved so dean raises the baby and it’s his ticket out of hunting and i can’t find the post now but like literally !! dean’s hanging around some town for a few months, ends up having a casual thing with some girl and she gets pregnant and dean’s like “omg i’ll stay. i’ll marry you. whatever please” bc he’s so desperate for an excuse to stop hunting and so desperate to have a family again and matter to someone but the girl is like “that’s sweet but i’m not interested in a long term relationship sorry” and dean’s like “ok ok but we can be friends and i’ll be here to help you raise the baby” and she’s like :/ “actually i was thinking of adoption” and he’s like “what. no let me raise the baby. i’m good with kids i practically raised my brother” so. they do that. he sticks around throughout the pregnancy and ghosts john and stops hunting and then she has the baby and is like, “well, bye” so he leaves with this little baby, in the impala (which he modified the seats for so he could install a carseat) and they’re on the road together and it’s rough at first, they’re in and out of motels but he feels like he has a purpose ! and he loves his kid so much and then eventually they end up at bobby’s and he opens the door and dean just holds up his baby and says “hey gramps!” in a little baby voice while waving the baby’s hand. bobby is like “what in the hell” and “where’d you get a baby ya idjit?” but then he sees the baby’s eyes and liddol nose and they’re dean’s eyes and nose and bobby takes off his baseball cap and starts crying. so dean and liddol baby move in and dean works in the scrapyard and later gets a job at a diner or something and bobby dotes on his grandbaby and eventually dean meets a nice gas ‘n’ sip cashier with the bluest eyes in the whole world and he mends things with sam by breaking the ice with a pic of his baby like “hey uncle sam” and dean’s family is complete and john never gets to meet the kid
Thinking about this River Song quote: “You don’t expect a sunset to admire you back.“ And how I can so very easily apply it to Destiel and it works both ways.
For Cas: Dean is the sun. He is the reason the world spins and there is warmth in the galaxy. He is pure and bright. He is who Cas fights for and who he will always protect because without him there is no reason to live. And Cas thinks a man like Dean would not spare him the time because he is too busy keeping the world alive.
For Dean: Cas is something untouchable. Something he can’t begin to comprehend or understand. He is an angel of the fucking lord. And how can something so beautiful and transcendent, something so far away that it seems impossible that it could exist, look at one human on the planet that an angel lights up.
And how wrong they were to think the other was out of reach.
I lay down with a man, Lord. I lay down with the Devil. And he has put his roots in me.
Here's a Modern Family x SPN crossover animatic that no one asked for <3
controversial opinion maybe, but i think the fact that the spn writers absolutely did not understand queer people or autistic people is precisely what makes dean as a bi man and cas as an autistic man so appealing and interesting. because they literally did not mean to put it in there, it just sorta happened, and isn't that just the way life works? if they'd tried to make cas autistic it would have seemed artificial and would probably have ended up being really bad representation. but the fact that they didn't mean to give cas autistic traits means that dean--as well as other characters, get to love those traits (staring, being literal, infodumping, etc) because they're what makes cas who he is. if they'd tried too hard they would have ended up making it weird. same with dean's queerness, dean ended up being queer on accident, which makes it so believable. imagine if the cw had tried to write a bi man, in 2005. that would have been a shitshow of problematic and unrealistic representation. so i'm not saying that they were right not to try, i'm not excusing queerbaiting or nonexistent canon queer and nd rep, i'm just saying that joke's on them bc by not realising queer and autistic people existed they ended up creating some of the most authentic queer and autistic characters i've personally ever seen on my tv.
