You look around the coffee shop where Jungkook was supposed to meet you twenty minutes ago, you didn’t plan on meeting him there, it was just understood between the two of you even a ritual if you had to give it a word, both of you came to this shop to grab coffee before your classes and usually you were the one getting late not him, never him, never even when you were kids, Jungkook was always the impatient one, his impatient nature forced him to do things early, meeting you somewhere to hangout was nothing different, he was always before time and you were glad because you never had to wait instead, you always got scolded for not being on time even if you are five minutes late. You lean back in the seat, chewing on your bottom lip as you look outside the window. No sign of him. You look down at you phone, his chat still open, a thread of your messages sent to him can be seen but still nothing from him, he wasn’t even at home when you left in the morning. You huff. Is he okay? Your best friend instinct kicks in.

"Because I still love you."~ Kim Taehyung

"Because I Still Love You."~ Kim Taehyung

Pairing: Kim Taehyung x Reader

Genre: ANGST

Requested by: This lovely person whom I can't seem to tag hehe

Summary: Taehyung breaks up with you with a promise to come back.

🍂

"Tae?"

A soft smile grew on Taehyung's face at the gentle whisper that reached his ears. A satisfied hum buzzed out of his chest as he wriggled around in the confined space of the couch to face you. With swollen, red eyes that were dazed with sleep, Taehyung blinked a few times so that he could focus on the gentle glow of the kitchen light that kissed your cheek golden.

"Was I snoring?" he teased you, raising a hand to push your hair out of your face before fondly stroking the side of your head. You shook your head, resting your hand against his bare chest and sighing deeply.

"I just missed you."

"I'm right here baby," he frowned. "Did you have a bad dream?"

"I was just thinking," you whispered, your eyes scrunching shut at the quiver in your voice that betrayed your strong façade. Before he could catch sight of the tears shining in your eyes, you swiftly lodged your face into the curve of his shoulder, holding him close against you.

"What were you thinking about?" he let his lips rest over your ear.

"About how much I love you?" you short titter escaped when he traced his finger over the outline of your back. "Stop, that tickles."

"I know it does," he smirked but stopped his actions nonetheless. "Do you know what I was dreaming of?"

You shook your head, "What?"

With an amused sound, he gently pushed you back to take a look at you. "I had a dream that we had two kids, a girl, and a boy. Our girl was tall and she had your smile, and she was carrying our son in her arms. You know who she reminded me of?" he spoke quietly, his eyes following every place his finger traveled.

"Me?" you wondered. He nodded instantly, a wide smile taking over his expression. "Yes, you." He pinched your nose lovingly.

"She looked so responsible, with her gorgeous brown hair up until her shoulders. She had the kindest eyes, but what made me feel the happiest was the way she was caring for her brother. She held him so carefully, so delicately, she looked over him with the fondest eyes, and I just knew that even if I had to die at that very moment, she would never forsake her baby brother, she would always make sure that there would never come a day he goes hungry," Taehyung's eyes glistened under the dull light that came from the kitchen, looking down at you proudly.

"That was the very first time I had a dream about our future. Our children. And it makes me fall in love with you even more."

"Tae," you whispered. He nodded, brushing away the tear that rolled its way down your cheek. "We'll get there, sweetheart," he assured you, placing a firm kiss on your forehead.

"I'm afraid," you mumbled under your breath, holding onto him tighter in fear that he would disappear any moment. He frowned again, this time catching your face properly in his palms.

"Why?" he asked you, his voice low and gentle.

"I don't know," you let out a shaky breath, lowering your gaze.

"Hey, talk to me," he urged.

"Taehyung," you sighed, sitting up and turning away from him. He followed soon, but he stayed behind you, his hands pulling you back against his chest. "What if we don't make it?"

"Don't say such things, love. Why won't we make it?" you could hear the frown in his voice.

When you didn't reply, he lay his head upon your shoulder, reaching for your hands and intertwining them together with his own. "I love you, I need you to know that, okay?"

He sighed in relief when he felt you nod. "I love you too."

"Tell me what you feel," he muttered against the fabric of your t-shirt.

You looked down at his fingers that had enveloped your hands within his. Brushing his thumb tenderly with your own, you leaned into his embrace.

"I'm afraid I'll lose you."

Taehyung nodded, and you felt the ghost of a smile tug at your lips when he pulled you impossibly closer to his chest. His head was still lowered, a technique of getting you to open up without the fear of being pressured by someone's gaze. "You won't."

"I am scared of things going wrong if people find out about us."

He nodded again, lifting his head just a little so that he could kiss your shoulder blade. "We will face it together."

"I'm afraid you will leave me," you finally whispered, a teardrop falling onto his wrist. Taehyung froze behind you, his own eyes filling with tears at the fear that laced your voice. He had never seen you so afraid, so vulnerable, so broken before him.

"I won't," he mumbled against your skin, keeping his lips attached to you as he whispered it again. When you bent forward and began to cry, he moved with you, keeping you right against his heart and crying with you. "I won't leave you, baby. I won't."

"I'm scared Taehyung," you cried softly, his heart breaking at the feel of your tears falling onto his hand. He nodded, pulling you back so that you could lean against his shoulder.

"Hey, hey, listen to me, sweetheart, please," Taehyung mumbled, kissing away your tears and resting his face against yours. "There are so many people who already know about us, right? The boys have supported us from the very beginning, the company gave us a green signal too, do you remember how much we fought so that they could let us stay together? We can fight the world, as long as we stay together."

You let Taehyung hold you, one hand keeping both of yours in his grasp while the other wrapped around your chest, firmly attaching you to him.

"And our parents know about us too, sweetheart. Remember how my mum almost got us married when we went to meet her for the first time?" he giggled at the memory, his heart fluttering at the soft laugh that escaped your lips. "That was wild."

"Right? And I wouldn't want to brag but I know I impressed your dad with the very first conversation I had with him."

"All you said was, 'It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir,' and he fell for you," you chuckled softly, tilting your head towards him as he kissed your temple.

"I know he did, but my favorite part was when he told me that I was the best boyfriend he could have ever asked for his daughter." He whispered, squeezing your hand in assurance.

"We have so many people who love us, and most of all, we love each other. It's one of the strongest weapons to use when we have to fight the world, baby."

"I know," you pulled his arm closer to you. "I guess I was just overthinking."

"I won't ever leave you, Jagiya. Not happening. Imma kick it with a big fat 'NO', just like our dance move in Dynamite," the two of you began to laugh softly, a glimpse of the morning sun peeking through the windows.

"You promise?"

He finally turned you around in his arms, leaning forward to hold your lips with his in an embrace of its own.

"I promise."

~

Promises.

Dreams.

A future.

Love.

When did such things begin to play hide and seek? You needed to know because these very words finally decided to play games with you.

A very cruel, heart-wrenching game.

You struggled to stay connected, your fists clenched and lips trembling as you watched the man who once comforted you with his words turn into a monster. A monster whose face turned a deeper shade of red with rage, droplets of spit spurting out of his lips with each word that he spat at you, the same lips that would kiss away your pain every single time. The same lips that mouthed the words that made you think it would've been better for him to just take a knife and stab you right in the chest.

It hurt. It hurt more than words could ever express as you stood in front of the man you struggled to stay connected with. Gone was the man who dreamt of a future with you. Gone was the man who promised to never leave you. Gone was the man who wished to fight the world hand-in-hand with you. No matter how much you tried to look for that very man, it was as if he ceased to exist. All you could see was a monster, a liar, a heartless, cold man who blamed you for things you were once most afraid of.

It made you feel ashamed to even bring his name to your tongue, it made you want to dig a hole in the ground and disappear, because his dark gaze made you feel so small. Yet you stood upright, with your eyes connected to his. When all else fails, you are the only person who can stand up for you, right? You are the only person who can make sure your head is held high, you are the only one who could save up enough energy to just stand, and face it like the woman that you were...right?

"Leave."

"What?"

"Did I stutter?" you asked him calmly, even though your tears were on a trip of their own. "Leave my house, right now."

"Why are you acting like this is my fault?" Taehyung's voice suddenly lost its punch, lowering down to a milder tone.

"I'm sorry Taehyung. It's my fault. Everything is my fault, okay? Are you satisfied now?" you sighed in defeat, your eyes burning with tiredness.

"Do you even realize what you have done?" he questioned you.

Unable to believe the audacity of the man in front of you, your jaw clenched in pain. "Yes. In fact, I do, do you need me to write it down for you so that you can stop shoving it into my face?" you yelled.

"I know I made a mistake Taehyung! I should've been more careful. I made a mistake that I've always been afraid of making but for the stupidest of reasons, I let my guard down because YOU," you pointed an accusing finger right at him, "You promised me that no matter what happens, we would fight this together. You held me that day and told me that you would never leave me and you ask me if I realize what I have done?"

He stood silently, his own eyes beginning to water at your words, which made you laugh in disbelief. "You do not have the right to be crying Taehyung. You walk in here after not contacting me for a week! And you break up with me because I simply wanted to hold your hand in the godforsaken park that you took me to?"

"Stop," he warned you, shutting his eyes.

"Really Taehyung? Really? I let you speak and take out all your anger on me because yes, whatever happened has negatively impacted your career, but didn't I always tell you that this day would come? And now you want me to stop?" you cried out, pulling at your hair as you watched him cover his face.

"Okay," you sniffled, wiping your tears away and pushing your hair behind your ears. "Let me tell you what is about to happen. You walk out the door and go fix whatever issue it was that led you to break the one woman who trusted you with her life. Go and apologize to your 'fans' and tell them you're sorry for dating someone without asking for their permission. Go and ask for forgiveness from the company that you slog day in and day out for, only because you wanted to be human for once."

"(Y/n)-"

"I'm not finished," you stated firmly, instantly silencing him.

"Once you leave, you better accept the fact that we are done. For good. Because there is no way in hell that I would be able to live with a man who broke me the way you did today."

To distract yourself from the clenching pain in your chest, you sat back down on the couch. The exact same couch that held memories that made you want to cry all over again.

"(Y/n), can you give it some time, please?" he pleaded, kneeling in front of you and holding your hands in his. You looked at him with tear-filled eyes, watching him as a pained look overtook his expression. "Let it settle for a while, please baby."

"Are you really asking me this? After all the things you told me today? You blamed me for the way your fan count decreased Taehyung, you blamed me for the insults that they never forget to bombard me with every single day. You told me that our relationship was the reason why people have stopped listening to your music?"

"No, no...please," he begged you, resting his head on your lap. You simply looked at him, your head beginning to throb. "Please, I'll come back to you, I swear, just give me some time. I'm sorry."

"It's not okay," you shook your head, pushing him away gently and looking him straight in the eye. There were tears falling from them, and you sat back and wondered how it was possible for him to be crying right now.

"I don't want you to come back to me, Taehyung. I cannot be with you. You hurt me, more than anyone has ever hurt me. You broke me to pieces today," you whispered, finally breaking down in front of him. Taehyung shook his head, sitting back down on the floor and crying into his hands, soft sobs causing his body to shudder as he heard you cry before him.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." he blubbered messily, "Please, let me sort everything out. Give me one more chance, baby, please. Let me come back to you."

Taehyung suddenly jolted upright, leaping towards you on his knees, grabbing your hands and holding them tenderly to his lips. With sorrowful eyes, he looked up at you, utterly broken at the pain he could see on your face. "I"m sorry, I'm sorry for not fighting for you. I'm sorry I gave up on you, but please, give me a chance to make things right. Please. I can't lose you, that was never my intention."

You sighed, shaking your head and releasing your hands from his grip. "You lost me the moment you gave up on me, Taehyung."

"No," he cried, standing up with you and stopping you from walking away. "I said I'm sorry, please give me a chance to convince them, I'll come back to you, I'll hold your hand and take you out for a date with no shame and nothing to hide. I'll show the world that I'm in love and one day when we get married I wil-"

"Taehyung, stop," you whispered, suddenly overwhelmed as you held your palm to his cheek. He began to cry instantly, leaning into your touch with his eyes shut. "What's the point in fighting for me now?"

His eyes opened, reaching up to grab your face within his warm hands. You inhaled sharply, your heart still leaping at his touch.

"Because I still love you."

Why would he say that?

Why did he have the power to break down all the walls you built up just to protect yourself?

Why was it so real?

It hurt so much to hear him say that. It broke you even more than it did when he yelled at you a few hours ago, yet you didn't stop him when he pulled you against him. You didn't push him back when he kissed you like there was no tomorrow, you couldn't stop your hands from desperately grabbing onto his collar as his fingers pulled your head closer to him. You couldn't. Even though you tried, you just couldn't.

Because you still loved him too.

I've decided to write this for the mere possibility of saving someone's life, not just from Ukraine, these guidelines will help you if you ever find yourself under bombing/rocket/missile threat.

1. It is important to know where the attack is coming from, that is, the general direction (north, south, east etc.), and, if known, how much time do you have in order to reach safety. This information will be helpful for the next steps.

2. Your best option is always A SHELTER. Some European underground railway stations classify as ones.

3. If you don't have a shelter/can't reach one fast enough - find a stairwell, like the one in multi-story buildings, climb at least two floors up from the entrance or two floors down from upmost floor. STAY AWAY from windows, glass coating or any openings.

4. Can't get to a stairwell? Opt for the innermost, most window-less room of your house. If your know the direction of the attack find the room that meets the requirements above farthest away from that direction. Again, stay away from windows, glass objects or anything that might fall or shatter in case of explosion.

5. If you are out in the open and can not reach any of the above, lie flat on the ground, facing away from the direction of the attack, hands over (protecting) your head. It is important to remain like this even in a case of nearby explosion - explosion wave thrust goes up, lying on the ground might protect you from debris and projectiles.

6. If you find yourself under attack while driving, safely pull over and follow options 2-5.

7. DO NOT. Under no circumstances. Emerge from your place of shelter before official state authorities gave a clear.

Some of these instructions are very simple, but can and will save you! Stay alert, be prepared, follow official authorities' guidelines, and most important, protect yourself and stay safe.

puns || kim seokjin

Kim Seokjin x reader

Summary: A handsome stranger is telling puns on the bus, and you find them almost as funny as he does.

Genre: fluff

Words: 1838

image

I sighed as I took a seat on the bus, on my way to work. I always enjoyed the ride there; it gave me a chance to clear my mind and people-watch for the journey, preparing myself for the busy and tiring night ahead. I stretched my legs, tired from college all day, and knowing I would be on my feet all night.

Despite my fatigue, I was in a good mood, happily watching the city pass by and enjoying the warm, late spring weather. I moved my attention from the window to the door as the bus stopped, allowing people to get on. I watched as an old man pottered on first, a middle-aged woman following him, and just behind her two young men, talking amicably as they strolled on.

Both were evidently attractive, but my eyes lingered on the taller one. He had light brown hair framing his forehead and smooth skin, his facial features almost making him appear godly as they spread into a beautiful smile. They took a seat in front of me, their backs to me as they continued their conversation.

Unintentionally, I began to listen to what they were saying, my attention automatically drawn to them.

“Okay, Yoongi, listen to this one,” the taller one started, already grinning, “how does a penguin build its house?” His friend simply sighed in response, looking out of the window. “Igloos it together!” He exclaimed, letting out a loud, squeaky laugh and clapping his hands together.

I grinned at the joke, knowing they couldn’t see me. I had an easy sense of humour, and puns were my weakness. ‘Yoongi’ didn’t even bat an eyelid at the joke, remaining completely deadpan, but the tall one didn’t seemed phased by this reaction. In fact, his failure to elicit a reaction in his friend only seemed to encourage him as he continued.

“Hey, did you hear about the kidnapping?” He asked, giggling.

“No.” His friend said, sounding completely unamused and sick of puns.

“Well, don’t worry, he woke up.” His doe eyes turned to crescents, his body shaking as he chuckled. I had to stifle a laugh at that one, leaning back and smirking. I admired his willpower; determinedly continuing despite his friend’s obvious disinterest. Again, the other boy barely reacted.

They then began another conversation, discussing what they would do that night. I was still listening to them (reassuring myself that it would be pretty hard for me not to, considering how close they were sitting to me), and though not staring obviously, I couldn’t seem to keep my eyes off the taller boy as he spoke. The late afternoon sun leaking through the bus windows lit up his features, making his hair appear golden and his skin glowing. I dragged my gaze away and looked out of the window, listening as they discussed which restaurant to visit later.

“Should we go to that new place down the road? Their cold noodles are supposed to be really good.” The smaller boy was contemplating, scrolling through his phone.

“That reminds me,” started the taller one, “what do you call a fake noodle?” His friend groaned, and I couldn’t help but to smile.

“I don’t care.” Yoongi continued to look at his phone. I leant forward, excited for the answer.

“An impasta!” He finished the joke, clapping his hands. I couldn’t help the barking laugh that escaped my lips for a second before I clapped a hand over my mouth. My face heated up as I realised how loud it had been. Both boys whipped their heads around, the one who told the joke grinning at me.

“Sorry,” I giggled, waving my hand, “that was a really good joke.” He beamed at me, still laughing himself.

“Right? See, Yoongi, someone with a real sense of humour!” He said triumphantly, gesturing towards me, and I blushed. Yoongi just shook his head at the both of us, giving me a small, polite smile, before returning to finding a restaurant on his phone. The other one turned back to me, a friendly smile gracing his features.

“Do you know any jokes?” He asked after a moment. I racked my brains for a good pun, wanting to keep the conversation going with him.

“Okay, what do you call an elephant that doesn’t matter?” I questioned, already smiling as I thought about the answer. He pondered it for a second, before shaking his head.

“I don’t know.”

“An irrelephant.” I answered, and he immediately erupted into laughter, clapping his hands together. I beamed, proud of myself for making him laugh. I was surprised to see Yoongi turn around briefly with a small grin at my joke too. This immediately offended the taller one.

“Ya, why do you laugh at her jokes but not at mine?” He demanded, his eyes growing wide. Yoongi scoffed as I watched on with amusement.

“Her jokes are better than yours.” He replied bluntly, and received another outraged look from the boy next to him, who then turned to me, ignoring the comment.

“That was a good one. What’s your name?” He chuckled.

“I’m Y/N.” I returned his smile.

“Jin,” he gestured to himself, “and Yoongi.” He pointed to his darker haired friend. “Nice to meet you.”

Finally, he had a name. I looked at him, taking in his soft features and open face. It suited him.

We continued to chat good-naturedly as the bus rattled around the city, my forearms now resting on the backs of their chairs as I leaned forward. Yoongi turned out to be a lot friendlier than he looked, and Jin was just as enigmatic as he seemed from an outside perspective. I found myself frowning, disappointment filling me as I saw my bus stop looming ahead.

I needed to find a way to see him again. Thinking quickly, I pulled out a scrap of paper and scribbled something down, leaning on the empty seat next to me. I stood up as the bus slowed to a stop, stumbling a bit and holding onto a pole for support.

“This is my stop, but I couldn’t help but to overhear that you guys are looking for a place to eat.” I grinned, handing Jin the piece of paper. “This is the restaurant I work at. It’s pretty good.” I heard the bus doors open behind me. “Stop by if you feel like it. I’m working all night.”

I got off before I could hear a reply, watching him grin at me through the window as the bus drove off, my own cheeks still stretched into a cheerful smile.

Later that evening as I waited tables, I kept getting distracted by watching the door for the people coming in, hoping to see Jin’s face amongst the swarms of customers entering. I bit my lip, trying to catch a glance of him as I took orders and hurriedly laid places.

“Y/N, can you focus please? What is up with you today?” My colleague asked irritably, her arms laden with dishes as she pointed to the table that needed to be cleared. I shook my head, apologising.

“Yes, sorry, nothing.” I sighed, quickly moving to pick up empty dishes. I carried them back to the bar, seeing her shake her head in annoyance, frowning at the door.

“Look,” she nodded to the door, “flip a coin to decide who takes them?”

I looked to the entrance to see a boisterous group of young men, talking loudly and laughing; the type of customers you didn’t want to be in charge of. However, I immediately recognised Yoongi at the front of the group, his distinctive hair and piercing gaze separating him easily from the average customer, and next to him, a taller, more familiar boy. Jin noticed me quickly and met my gaze, waving across the room. I grinned, patting my colleague’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got it.” I made my way over to them, smirking.

“Good evening gentlemen.” I said, giving them all menus but repeatedly meeting Jin’s gaze as I did so. I briefly looked around at the six other boys, recognising only Yoongi, and receiving smiles from all of them.

“Y/N,” my attention was brought back to Jin. He pretended to look at the menu for a while before looking up. “why couldn’t the bicycle stand up by itself?” I supressed a smile, pretending to think for a moment.

“…is it because it was two tired?” I asked innocently, watching as his face dropped. His expression of shock was priceless, and I laughed along with the six others, who immediately began teasing him.

“You’ve been practicing.” He narrowed his eyes at me, grinning.

“Well, I had to, to keep up with you.” I flirted back, and he simply stared back with a small grin. I felt his eyes on me as I took their orders and went to serve other tables, the smile barely leaving my face.

I got reprimanded several times by colleagues as I spent most of the night by their table, exchanging puns with Jin and joking around with the others, and only leaving when I was afraid I would actually lose my job. All seven of them gave off an aura of sincerity and humility that drew me towards them, but the energy between Jin and I was something that was impossible to describe; I couldn’t seem to stay away from him.

At the end of my shift, they finally decided it was time to leave. The other boys waved goodbye, giving me a generous tip before walking out, still talking and laughing loudly. Jin was the last to leave the table, and he stayed sitting as I cleared it around him.

“Can I help you?” He asked, reaching for some plates, but I slapped his hand away.

“No, Jin, it’s literally my job.” I chuckled. “Besides, my manager will think I’m slacking if he sees a customer helping me.” He nodded understandingly, resting his chin in his hands and watching me for a moment, a small smile on his face. Once I had finished wiping the table he stood up and walked around it, coming to stand very close to me. I had to crane my neck upwards to see him, and I could feel the heat radiating off his body as he peered down at me.

I waited for him to say something as he seemed to just be studying my face. I distracted myself, putting my notebook away and wiping my hands on a cloth, before he finally spoke.

“So Y/N.” I looked up and met his intense gaze, my breath catching in my throat. He cocked his head to the side, the corner of his mouth lifting. “Do you like raisins?”

I frowned for a second, before smiling dejectedly; that hadn’t been what I was expecting him to say, but how could I expect anything else but another pun? I sighed patiently, giving him a small smile.

“Not really.” I admitted and he smirked, his eyes glinting.

“Then how about a date?”
