2017 Megaman Valentine’s Day Contest: Humor Category Winners and Art (*Image Overload*)

And finally, getting around to the last part of this massive 10th anniversary celebration, we end with the Humor Category results.

This year’s theme was “Girouette and Shooting Star Rockman’s Romantic Delivery Service.” In which entrants had to come up with their own funny delivery of romantic gifts, along with a company slogan to sell those services.

We had a total of 18 entries for this category, another delightfully wonderful showing! As always, with humor it can be a bit subjective, and the quality of your drawings are an added bonus, but all of these entries are guaranteed to give you a hearty laugh or chuckle, and maybe tug on your heart strings, too! As is common with this category, comics seem to be the in-thing, and some of these entries are quite extensive.

Just like the Talent entries, I’ll reveal the Top 3 winners first, and then the remaining entries will be after the cut. Again, thanks to @annamariacoppi for help with judging. Commentary from at least one of us on your art will also be seen below.

Each artist’s name will link to a (hopefully) larger version I’ve uploaded, that will work until you guys upload your art on your own pages, followed by their tumblr handle or deviantArt page, if applicable. If a link is broken or I screwed up somewhere, let me know. This was a lot to verify!

Without further ado, here are the results!

1.) Wintesm (@wintesm) - Roll’s Delivery Service:

AnnaMaria said: One of the few I actually laughed out loud while reading. I love the quirky and simple drawings! It helps sell the jokes. The whole thing was very sweet and charming! I especially like Dr Wily randomly popping in telling her to go away, as if he constantly does that whenever he sees her.

Miyabi said: Nothing says love like a pit of spikes on your card. While there are probably just as many cutesy tender moments as their are jokes and gags, overall, I felt this was the most complete and strongest entry of the bunch. From Ice Man getting trolled, to ‘get off my lawn’ Wily, you can’t help but smile from panel to panel!

2.) Borockman (@borockman) - Sigma & Nana’s Dreamland MK-IV:

AnnaMaria said: Very funny over all! The twist ending sealed it for me. Took a bit long to get the end, but I like the random small jokes thrown in. Who knew he had a Bachelors in Fortress Design!?

Miyabi said: Oh man, from happy-go-lucky, more-powerful-than-a-super-saiyan-god Giro, to the crazy expressions of Nana and Sigma, there were plenty of panels that gave me a good laugh. Gotta wonder after all these years, despite it almost finally happening here, will they ever have a meaningful moment together outside of dreamland?

3.) Papillon the Pirate (@papillonthepirate​) - Curry of Love:

Miyabi said: I love the thought of Yahoot’s print ad with roses and curry bringing in the business, and the rest of the WWW delivering it and a cheesy singing telegram message in Cupid outfits! To me, this was one of the more creative takes on the category guidelines. Netto is so oblivious to who the curry is from, yet he can remember Match tried to burn his house! LOL
