i think more modern aus should commit to trying to translate yoohankims batshit neuroses about each other to a non-apocalyptic scenario. i love an au where kim dokja was yoo joonghyuk's first watcher when he started streaming with han sooyoung as his mod and han sooyoung makes yoo joonghyuk stream every night to make sure kim dokja keeps watching and doesnt kill himself and theyre both doing it for him but of course they both get in simultaneous dramatic car accidents that gives them both amnesia so they forget kim dokja was their first watcher. but he stays a fan for 13 years (and gets into internet beef with han sooyoung in the meantime) and then they all meet dramatically. so kim dokja manipulates the shit out of yoo joonghyuk to make his twitch channel blow up even more 'for his own good' while also engaging in psychosexual mind games with han sooyoung until he fakes his own death and runs away with his biological daughter (via bihyung obvs) and han sooyoung and yoo joonghyuk (who have forgotten each other too but realise their shared backstory over the course of the journey) have to hunt him down and confess their love. and its a coffee shop au btw
Well fucks? Get to it!
I finally finished my concept of their lion looks, and I’m really happy with how they turned out! It seems like I'm better at drawing animals than people Maybe this is the kind of fanart I can really focus on xD /who is interested in this besides me/ I have some more ideas for art with them
i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.
there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.
anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.
A Better World - create an alternate history timeline
Alter Ego - abandonware birth-to-death life simulator game
Seedship - text-based game about colonizing a new planet
Sandboxels or ThisIsSand - free-falling sand physics games
Little Alchemy 2 - combine various elements to make new ones
Infinite Craft - kind of the same as Little Alchemy
ZenGM - simulate sports
Tamajoji - browser-based tamagotchi
IFDB - interactive fiction database (text adventure games)
Written Realms - more text adventure games with a user interface
The Cafe & Diner - mystery game
The New Campaign Trail - US presidential campaign game
Money Simulator - simulate financial decisions
Genesis - text-based adventure/fantasy game
Level 13 - text-based science fiction adventure game
Miniconomy - player driven economy game
Checkbox Olympics - games involving clicking checkboxes
BrantSteele.net - game show and Hunger Games simulators
Murder Games - fight to the death simulator by Orteil
Cookie Clicker - different but felt weird not including it. by Orteil.
if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.
I'm thinking of making a temporary server for an ORV book club reread. This would be ideally for those who have read ORV at least once so we can discuss spoilers and stuff during the second read through. We can set up weekly/bi-weekly chapter counts, have discussions, and such.
The server would basically be just to talk about ORV during the time of check-ins and/or placing your thoughts/having discussions while reading. It's not supposed to be a gen chat kind of place or just an ORV fan server, just FYI.
Would people be interested? I was thinking of setting something up for August 1st so those who bought the english novel can start off reading that, but we can consider starting sooner if people want sooner.
Again, this server would only last the length of the reread and is meant for just discussion of the novel/meta commentary/etc for those who have read ORV at least once.
Those who are also interested in continuing into the side stories (which I will be doing as they are the continuation of ORV officially) can also stick around in the server to continue the book club from there. We'll figure out the "how" when we get a bit closer. They are almost as long as ORV is rn (somewhere in the 400-500 chapters fyi)
Doing an interest check.
Yoohankim! Based on this:
Kim Dokja is a Star because I get the vibes that he is the thing that yoohan look for in the sky also because he’s a Constellation. Han Sooyoung as the sun because without her writing everything, shining light on everything, nothing would exist. Yoo Joonghyuk as the moon because he is constantly changing and showing different parts of himself, and because there is a half of the moon which is always dark, which reminds me of the theme that you can never truly know a person as their whole.

Past/future swap with KDJ but instead of his middle school self, he swaps with 51% and 51% has to deal with /gasp/ EMOTIONS
