Me and my best friend (Ash, no tumblr @) absolutely adore the Handplates comic by @zarla-s. It was a big part of both our childhoods so I decided to try drawing us in their style and how we'd look in the story!

The plot behind why there would be humans being tested instead of just taking their souls to cross the barrier is mainly based around gasters insecurities. Two humans go on a hike and fall down Mount Ebott. They travel through the ruins and end up staying with toriel for a while because she's awesome and sweet. They later leave but as soon as they do they're caught on alphys' cameras and she immediately tells gaster.

In this side timeliness we imagined that gaster was worried that the two souls wouldn't be enough and since he had already created paps and sans, gaster thought that if he could study the human souls then he could figure out how to better them and combine a human and a monster soul to make it a more powerful singular soul. Of course alphys is confused on where the humans went but gaster wipes the cameras and lightly gaslights her. I am also 93% sure he'd love the opportunity to get revenge on the humans

I am also unsure how Zarla feels about aus of her au but if she doesn't like them I will take this post down

My friend @samdoesarts did a little portrait of me last year and (jokingly) made a second version where I look like a bodybuilder and to this day... I won't even look at the original. It doesn't capture the "true me" the way this version does.

This is my favorite.

I aspire to be this version of me one day.

The original is adorable.... see?

But "swole" Scott is my favorite and I want to always be remembered that way.

This AU happens in a post pacifist route where Frisk takes his friend Flowey to the surface while all the monsters start living (and struggling) with their new lives.

Also, Flowey feels extremely guilty for everything he has done and truly don't understand why no one killed him for his sins already.

THE ART STYLE IS SO CUTE THO WTF

There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue! 

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product. 

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases. 

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.
