Bucky chuckled at the remark Steve just said, taking a drag from his cigarette. It's a thing they both do while in the tower. They always stand on their own balconies and catch up.
He was about to speak when the balcony door slid open.
A sleepy " Babe?" came from the doorway.
Bucky turned his head to glance over his shoulder, and he smiled at the sight that greeted him.
A half asleep, Peter, wearing only his large henley, was slowly stumbling his way over. Only one eye partly cracked open to see the other still closed. Peter moves stand behind Bucky and presses his face into his back, wrapping both his arms around his waist.
"Come to bed. I need cuddles."
" Yeah? That's what they call it these days?"
Peter snorts a little and squeezes a small hug, giving Bucky's back a couple of kisses.
" I can give you wild ride in the morning. But I wanna cuddle with you tonight. It's too quiet without you. "
" Aw, Doll. You feelin' soft tonight and want pillow talk?"
Peter laughs a little and pulls away from Bucky to head back inside.
" That line might have worked back in your day but not on me. I'm tired, and I need your snoring to put me to sleep. "
" I don't snore,"
" Sure babe, don't be too long. Night Steve."
" Uh.. night Peter."
The door slides shut again, and Bucky frowns at it before looking back at Steve.
" I don't snore."
Steve raises his hands up in an ' I don't know ' gesture.
" You snored before the war... maybe you're just relaxed enough to... snore again."
" Shut it, punk. If anyone snores, it's you."
" Well, uh... 'babe' when did this happen? Does Tony know?"
Bucky points at Steve after putting his cigarette out.
" Not a word."
And then he opens the sliding door to his room and just as quietly closes it behind him. Steve is left alone on his own balcony, staring at the spot. Bucky just was out.
" Shit "
Okay but have you heard the song Vices and Virtues by Reinaeiry? Because I have thoughts. Like can you imagine Peter and SIM! Tony? SIM seeing this perfect boy and trying to court him and be sweet to this one person and Peter trying so hard not to let it show that he’s falling in love with his enemy but eventually just giving in and letting himself fall knowing he’ll be caught and spoiled?
Peter's mask comes off in the middle of a fight and Tony flips a 180 from wanting to pulverise this little pest into wanting nothing more than to have him in his arms, in his bed, by his side.
Force doesn't work. Peter reacts like a feral cat, all hissing and spitting and claws. It's admirable, it's arousing... But it's not what Tony wants.
He doesn't want to make Peter want him. No. This will taste all the more sweet if the boy came to him of his own accord.
He brings him flowers. Has expensive, fancy meals delivered to the school at lunch time. Sends him gifts near daily, beautifully wrapped and always eith a hand written note.
And Peter isn't impressed by any of these things, even if he wears the outfits, eats the food and always says thank you next time they see each other.
No. Peter only softens when Tony tells him about hearing JARVIS speak for the first time. When Tony once lets slip that, when he was just a boy, he used to dream of being an astronaut.
Peter only starts looking at him differently the day he saves a stray dog in the street, clutching the filthy thing to his $8,000 suit, chiding it gently for not watching the road.
Peter stops calling him Your Highness, all teeth and claws, and starts calling him Mr. Stark, soft and sweet. Starts to blush when Tony tells him reverently how beautiful he is, how strong.
It's the greatest victory of all The Superior's rule, watching Peter slowly accept the fall, watching him let go of the fight. When Peter kisses him it tastes like success, like power.
The Superior was formidable, alone. But with Peter to cherish, he is unstoppable.
dating a princessgirl is great until she exercises unilateral authority to keep snuggling you instead of letting you get up
Tony never liked being handed things because he was handed his parent's death certificate. Until one night, after being resurrected and being married to his one true love and making sure Pepper and Morgan were okay, Peter hands him something.
"I didn't know how you'd take it. Or if you wanted another. I didn't even know that my body was capable but—" Peter hands him a white stick and a legal sized paper with his lab results, "I'm pregnant, Mr. Stark."
If there's anyone Tony would take anything being handed to him from, it would be Peter.
Bucky, head hung in shame: I need my arm recalibrated
Tony, sighing: and how did you fuck it up this time?
Bucky: *nods in the direction of Peter, in a corner of the lab, in his blue light sensitivity lenses and a Columbia hoodie, tinkering away on something and bobbing his head to whatever’s on his headphones
Tony: this is the third time you’ve dicked your arm up fucking Peter, you know that right? That’s excessive.
Bucky: wrong this is the third time I’ve fucked my arm up fucking Peter that you’ve found out about. Usually he can fix it himself
Tony: Jesus tits ever consider, I dunno, just being a little gentler? Little more relaxed? Lay off the wall sex for a bit?
Bucky: absolutely not I’m trying to keep him around

Recovering drug addict and alcoholic Tony where everyone is almost ready to give up on him (or has given up entirely) until rehab aid, Deaf and Mute, Peter Parker is assigned to him. There's no frustated shouting, harsh words of reprimand, just gentle coaxing, understanding touches. There's no judgemental eyes just soft sad doe-like ones whenever he throws up or screams in frustration. Peter stays with him. Doesn't give up on him. Along the way Tony helps him too, enrolls him to speech recovery therapy, gets him checked out for possibilities to get his hearing back. It was so easy to help Peter. And little by little, the rehab aid became a friend, then a best friend, it gradually, slowly built until Tony realizes he had fallen for Peter. Hard. And he wants to be the best man for the kid.
Slowly but surely, his rehab went better than the past years, his withdrawal lessened, his body healthier. At the same time, he builds Peter a hearing aid, and Tony will always remember the look on his face when he first heard Tony's voice. With the help of the hearing aid and speech therapy, Peter gradually starts speaking again. His first work? "Tony." And god, Tony could've died happily when that first happened.
They took care of each other. Helped each other learn and grow. Until Tony can't do it anymore and confesses. He gets the sweetest "I love you too," in return.
He ends up marrying Peter a year later after his rehab. He wins countless rewards. His paper that he worked on with Peter regarding his condition got recognized. And when he wins a Nobel Prize, he stands at the podium, looking healthier than his previous years, gold ring on his finger as he says:
"First of all, I'd like to thank my life partner Peter Stark for helping me find my voice again. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be here— I'd probably be wearing something orange and doing a really hard time— but all thanks to him, he's given me reason to be better and be the best man to take care of him. I love you so much, Pete. Once again, My Mrs. Stark, everyone."
