Got a bad feeling that I'm about to break Been a good streak, but the pressure's overweight Is it even good, for my head to keep track? If I'm gonna snap necks, then I gotta snap back
she held a of respect for nikolas's parents, honestly she was proud of any parent who actually care for their child's well being. however, she also didn't know the divide that was created thanks to her death. her vision was blurry, but there was no mistaking klaus's voice. turning towards the sound, he was already beside her, letting out a sigh of relief she took his arm. "do you know what is happening? i don't understand, klaus i was in a grave and i crawled out of it..." this was all so overwhelming, eleanor quickly began to feel panic rise from her chest. "i don't understand..." she repeated, as the world began to spin.
He hasn't expected to see her given she was meant to be dead. But the moment he did, he stepped out of his car and made a v-line towards Eleanor. Klaus dismissed the person that Eleanor had been trying to get the attention of before she stepped in next to her. "Eleanor," he said, reaching out an arm to support her if she was going to fall before looking at her over. "Lets get you inside."
once getting their drink, gabriela's attention quickly went back to their daughter, noticing anger bubbling in her chest. narrowing her eyes, she watched as kaya spoke a name into existence that she had tried to keep locked up tightly in her past. she wasn't able to hide her reaction, almost choking on the drink before placing a finger up. needing time to gather herself before even daring to explain who raymis was. taking a bigger sip of her drink, she placed it back on the bar and sighed. this wasn't the time or place she planned on telling her daughter all about her torrid past, filled with violence and a darkness she hoped to never possess again.
"that name does mean something to me..." placing a hand on her daughters, she took a deep breath. "raymis and i knew each other when i was a working for arcadius. i gave a demon my soul because of what happened to your aunt and that's why i am what i am now. raymis and i were together for a little bit but nothing serious ever came out of it. so whatever he has told you, it's not true. you daddy is tyler lockwood." she mocked the term raymis loved to be called, rolling her eyes before tilting her head. "i'm sorry i never told you much about those days, they are just very dark for me. it's hard to not have your daughter think you aren't a monster when you are a literal demon."
"Ah, shit," Kaya said under her breath when her mom sat down next to her. "Busted," she joked, giving the bartender a slight nod when he looked in her direction. Surely just one more couldn't hurt anyone.
But how was she supposed to tell her mom about what had happened? About what that demon had said about her? Was there even any truth to his words? She hated how easily her mom could tell exactly how she was feeling with a quick glance. Despite desperately trying to keep her feelings on the inside, they always leaked out into her expressions and body language. Her shoulders tensed even more, her anger squeezing them in.
"It's fine, Mom," Kaya commented, "If I said the name Raymis... would that mean anything you?" The demon raised a brow, looking at their Mom, watching for any change in their expression.
hayley would've normally heard her daughter getting ready to approach, but the hybrids mind was filled with too many conversations to notice. a small scream left her lips after being tackled, followed by a giggle when realizing that it was hope. shaking her head softly, hayley looked at her daughter with so much love. she was sure that her kids all saw the way she looked at them, as if they could do no wrong and were able to conquer the world. hugging her daughter tightly, she allowed herself to linger in the embrace. "hi baby, how is your day going?"
knowing hope, she was probably doing the exact same thing as the hybrid. they shared the past time of watching others as they went on their daily lives, ones that weren't filled with the danger of vampires and wolves. placing a soft kiss on the others cheek, she finally pulled back, linking her arm with hope. wanting to bring up the meeting with laurie, she decided against it. so instead she pushed the thought back down in the depths of her mind. there was so much going on and a boy was the last of their problems. "i heard that lizzie is back, how are you handling that?"
THE STREETS OF NEW ORLEANS were covered with tourists, a sight that made the tribid wonder what going through life like that was like. everyone had their what if moments and hope would be lying if she didn't admit to at least a day dream or two about what life would be like if she were a run of the mill ordinary girl. and perhaps that's why PEOPLE watching had become one of her favorite activities when back home ⸺ the atmosphere of such a historic town, filled with the buzzing chat of a modern people, it was endlessly fascinating. even when her people watching had ulterior motives, but it was because of said self appointed task that the petite auburn girl caught sight of a dearly familiar face through the corner of her eye. approaching her as quietly as she could, hope only made a sound as she practically tackled the hybrid by way of a hug. " gotcha ! " she finished with a giggle, a pleased grin forming on rose colored lips. " hi, momma. "
after the newest faction meeting, hayley decided to scout the streets in her own way. taking people watching to the next step by using her hybrid abilities, she walked through crowds. it was clear who was human and who was supernatural, humans had no worry lines on their forehead. no one was really giving her any new details, a lot of them just anxious about the gruesome murders. still she kept going, getting lost in other conversations and not realizing the noise her body made, as it bumped into a loud chain-link fence. shaking her head, the hybrid realized that andrew was staring. "guess i got a little too caught up in other peoples business." a slight smirk covered her lips. "you doing okay andrew?"

rumor had it that there was a supernatural killer on the loose and those who were aware of the attack were on edge . it didn't help that the newbie vampire was attacked the moment he stepped in new orleans . but now there were actual murders happening in the city . heads severed and bodies bound and set on fire . this was enough to keep the redhead on guard , understanding that anything could happened at any given moment . andrew looked back when he heard a noise .

I never wanted this, but after a while… I just felt… I just felt like it fit. Like I was meant to be.
eleanor was doing everything possible to make sure that her life could be put back on track. each book store in town had a copy of her manuscript. they'd all take it with small smiles unsure of why she was so intense about it all, but she didn't mind. how could anyone understand her one-track mind? it wasn't true, but it felt logical that once her book was picked up again, then the rest of her world would fall into place. the solstice event was a perfect time to network, so despite being anxious in a crowd, she got dressed and made way to the gardens.
a tiny purse, held a few things she wanted to burn. photos of the person who ended up killing her and other tokens of her past. elle hadn't meant to catch the others eye, but their smile along with being next to the fire, made it an easy mistake. taking a long sip of her drink, she then made her way to diana's side. "enjoying the event so far?" she asked before taking a few things out of her bag and gripping them near the blaze.

Upon arriving in New Orleans, Diana had stayed mostly under the radar, scoping out the townspeople and attempting to figure out where she best fit in. When she heard of the upcoming Solstice lighting, she knew she'd have to be in attendance. What better way to blend into society and meet new people? Perhaps she'd even meet other like-minded gossips such as herself. And of course, there would be so many lovely people for her to engage with and maybe even drink from.
She wound through the gardens with a drink in hand, staying a silent observer before coming to a standstill in front of the roaring fire. The flickering heat felt all-consuming. Taking a step back, she locked eyes with someone across the garden. Raising a glass in their direction, she offered a coy smile. The vampire was here to play, and it was game on.
her nose scrunched up at his teasing, while her shoulders became a little less tense, all from pretending to hold her head high. the only time josie was able to be a person was when she was around family, or at least certain family. "i want to fight that one but so far, you have been right... " she twirled on her feet back to the microwave, placing the popcorn in and setting the timer before shrugging. "plus, we know fate is a fickle thing." josie smirked, making her way over to the fridge and looking at the drink selection. "i love that klaus enjoys hard liquor, it means mom always has mixers around." pulling out all the things needed for a dirty shirley, the witch took out two fancy glasses.
he managed to finish her sentence, something she found both helpful and painful, because it brought up the very emotions she desperately tried to push down. "yeah since the merge." after placing some ice in the glasses, she placed her palms on the cool tile. "it could be an evil spell, i mean those do give me the chills." but there was still something else, a feeling that she couldn't put into words, it was there on the tip of her tongue. she felt lizzie, in a much different way since that fateful night. shaking the thought away, she went back to pouring and mixing drinks, the sound of popping filling the kitchen. "i guess we should wait for aunt freya, she normally is the first to know what evil lurks."
there wasn't a day that passed by that nikolas didn't think about his fiance . about their connection and the bond they shared . it was a bond that he had never had with anyone before and to have that ripped away from him by his own careless action had darkened his path . it wasn't by any means what josie had gone through with lizzie , but there were some similarities between the two . they both lost someone that they had cared for dearly and it was at their own hands . now they were forced to live without the person they loved the best way they knew how .
" well get use to hating because i'm always right . " nikolas teased josie , before breathing a laugh . nikolas looked back to see the brunet open the cabinet door with glee to get to the popcorn . large hands grabbed at the wet cloth to wipe down the marble countertop before a laughed followed underneath his breath of how she would try to keep her snacks and hands in the right place . the sandy blonde having his doubts . " well my fate is in your hands , literally and figuratively . " he joked as he felt his energy change . she was the fresh breath of air that he had needed .
nikolas finished up with his task before turning around to his sister's curious question . " evil spell ? " he questioned , she continued but then her voice drifted off . nikolas could see it in her eyes that it was the thought of their sister lizzie that created the withdrawal . " since the merge with lizzie . " he thought to finish her sentence to show that he understood . " i think i heard aunt freya say something but i haven't felt anything . " perhaps it was the vervain that he had been taken to gain immunity to the potent herb after he was attacked with it by a hunter a few weeks ago . he had of course killed the hunter , but he never wanted to feel that vulnerable again .

it felt like a fever dream, josie watched through the mirror as lizzie got ready for the masquerade, starring as if the girl hung the stars in the sky. for three years, she prayed to so many gods for the person before her to do this again. get ready for some wonderful night, were the only thing on their minds was having a good time. there of course were those parts of the siphoner that felt scared about it all, but it was being heavily overshadowed but how dreamy this felt. honestly, she couldn't put into words, for so long she had been unhappy and now it felt as if that never happened. the twins managed to match in a way, both wearing blue dresses, something that made them giggle because of course.
sitting at the vanity, she applied the last of her lipstick before turning to finally face lizzie. "is the blue eyeshadow too much?" she asked, an eyebrow arched in uncertainty.
@terroremarium
her eyebrows rose at his quip, taking a deep inhale, trying to stuff away her annoyance. josie had met eli before, her family became much bigger after her mother married klaus. something that she found helpful after the merge. losing such a huge part of her, still never healed but having so many people around that cared, helped her on the darker days. rolling her eyes she looked up to eli and then back at the papers. "yeah well there's a first time for everything." once grabbing the last piece, she managed to shuffle them back into place before getting up from her knees.
"you know for being so tall and strong, you could've put that to use with the cleanup." brushing her legs, she placed a hand on her hip. josie was exhausted so that made her tempers flare, but eli hadn't really done anything wrong. it wasn't his fault he was built like a quarterback, sighing she smiled softly. "sorry, i uhh haven't really slept well so any minor inconvenience has just made me grumpy."
Eli had felt the same shift as other had commented on. It felt like something big and insidious lurking in corners, but no one had any idea what. As he made his way through town, he saw the female and smirked to himself. Of course Eli had the arrogance not just of that of a mikaelson but also from his father and that gave him an unruly confidence. As he approached his cousins friend, he was soon colliding into her as she came crashing into her body.
He had stopped just before her but not seeing him had caused his larger frame to knock her back and her paperwork fall to the ground. He looked down to it before moving his hues upwards towards the other for a moment as she spoke. "Well that's not exactly the greeting I was expecting...I don't usually hit girls off their feet... although seeing them at my feet isn't that uncommon.." he remarked.
josie blushed softly at kayas compliment, a warmth rushing through her body as they continued to dance. they'd seen each other often, kaya had a an odd relationship with hope due to who their parents were. something that the siphoner decided to stay out of, but she also enjoyed the others company. a lot of people their age, simply watched the trio exsist and stayed on the sidelines. something she completely understood because the bond was pretty scary. yet, she longed to be out of the codependency of it all. wanting to have her own type of life where she could be completely herself. "thanks, with lizzie back it just doesn't feel like that part of me is missing anymore. it's like i can start over and experience something other than grief."
the confession felt so weird to say out loud, the music turning into a slower song. with wide eyes, josie looked for any signs that kaya wanted out and couldn't seem to notice one, so instead she placed her hands on the others waist and smiled. "would you still like to dance?"
"You too! I mean, you look beautiful too." Why was Kaya so nervous? Or maybe she was just tipsier than she thought. Now all she could think about was whether or not her hands were too clammy. "It's nice to see you, and you seem like you're doing really good." Kaya had often felt like an outsider with the twins and Hope, their close knit family bond was great, and she'd never wanted to intrude on their time together. Now that she and Hope had become good friends, however, maybe there was space now, to befriend Lizzie and Josie a bit more, as well.
