eleanor wasn't sure where to go tonight, with nikolas remaining at arms length and her family so caught up in her return, it felt as if nothing was right. sure being back from the dead wasn't right or normal either, but to be treated like such a fragile piece of art, well it made the young woman anxious. the feeling never left her, it seemed once she crawled out of the grave, she was destined to feel out of place in the world. possibly because she didn't belong here anymore. none of it made sense, so she made her way to the outside area of the venue and took in a the fresh air. only coming back to reality when a voice filled the silence.
tilting her head to the other, she opened her eyes and furrowed her brows. trying to think what answer would be best. bolting felt like the best option. yet, her feet stayed planted on the ground. "honestly, i can't answer that. i want to leave this ball so badly. get away from everyone and just be, but i don't want to worry people anymore."

the redhead was still on edge after drinking from his father , damon . the limitation of blood was starting to get to him . he didn't want to feed on anyone else because he didn't want to hurt them , but that didn't changed the fact that his craving for the taste often danced on his tongue . however, andrew knew that his father would give him another hit before the night was done so he decided to think about something else for a change . " should we dance like we belong or ditch this place ? " andrew approached the other .
I just thought about what you would do. It’s like you always say: if we stick together, nothing can hurt us.
josie wiped the tears falling onto hope's cheek with her finger, doing her very best to be gentle and caring. the two of them didn't even really need to say anything, all of it had been said once they looked in each others eyes, but it still felt good to say it. for the siphoner, it felt as if the apology was long required, she'd write hope notes all the time only to burn them with the flick of her wrist. shaking her head slowly, she rested her palm on her sisters cheek and smiled. "me neither....what's worse is she isn't here in my head anymore and i can't seem to figure out why. she used to be there in the back of mind, but for the past few weeks, i can't feel her anymore."
taking a deep breath, she placed both hands on her lap. wanting to mention that even though lizzie wasn't in her mind, she was still felt. yet, there was a fear that mentioning it would send them on some mission only for the same outcome. so instead, she kept it to herself, waiting until she had proof. "did your mom come visit you in europe after i left? i'd hate to hear that you were alone..."
she'd toss and turn about it for months, unable to pick up the phone and call in fear of hearing the sorrow in the others voice. josie felt like a coward as she sat next to hope, it made her skin burn.
THE TRIBID HELD ON to her sister for dear life, pressing the siphoner to her as she felt her self exhale. being without josie for all of this time had proven to be ONE of the most heartbreaking things that had happened in her life time, the distance between them had been like losing a part of her soul and with such a large part of it gone already ( it had been buried with lizzie ) she hadn't been sure that she could make it through. the phrase ' there is always light at the end of a tunnel ' had begun to sound so incredibly cliche to her, that any mention of ' hope ' outside of her name felt like a SICK joke. and maybe she was too young to be so pessimistic but what else could she be? she had failed at keeping her PROMISE. and not just to josie, but lizzie too. failure did not settle well ⸺ call it a fallacy of being young, but maybe she'd bought into her own hype if only for a moment that staggeringly annoying confidence that ran in her family, had taken the limelight only to become extinguished just as fast as it was lit. she was EMBARRASED, and ashamed all reasons that stopped her from seeking josie out sooner. " there's nothing to forgive. " she assured the other, as she pulled back, hands placed on both of her arms, as she feared that the brunette would disappear as soon as she let go. " i shouldn't have... " a pause, tears formed in ocean colored eyes, and for once hope allowed them to fall. " i shouldn't have PROMISED what i couldn't keep. " she shook her head. " i'm so, sorry jo... " the disappointment in her tone was more than present, in fact it could be seen reflected in her the way she held herself. " i just can't... get used to a WORLD where she isn't here. "
josie found herself rolling her eyes, the same way she would for her step-father, but she had no time to say anything because screams echoed through the room. her slightly sipped champagne glass slipped out of her fingers, shattering onto the ground as waiters took of their masks and prepared to fight. "they're hunters, this whole thing was a trap." josie muttered under her breath, before flexing her fingers, preparing for a spell. "good thing you didn't drink tonight, how should we handle this?" it was so easy to brawl with others, she was known for being much better when not a party of one, the curse of being a siphoner.
"Most people don't compare me to nice things, so I won't hold it against you," he says smugly, tilting his champagne flute toward her to see the water inside. "I'm also on sober crew this evening, so you can keep it until you've drank more. Then I'll be expecting an answer."
the star card // upright: hope, faith, rejuvenation // reversed: faithlessness, discouragement, insecurity
'cause i was never told that i wasn't gonna get, the things i want the most, but people always say, "if it hasn't happened yet then maybe you should go" -- chappell roan california
josie had lost a lot of her faith after the merge, but now that lizzie is back from the dead and hope is talking to her again, it appears there is a rejuvenation on the rise. the siphoner is filled with a type of hope that she thought was long lost. for the first time in a long time, it appears that she is putting her wants first, as she know begins the search for masked woman she met at the masquerade ball.
however, josie is filled with insecurity, something that she desperately is trying to work on, but it does get in the way. for three years, she was faithless, loosing all want to really be a person in the world. something that was met with discouragement after dabbling in black magic in europe.
can josie find herself again?
gabriela couldn't help but give hope a soft smile, she was always unsure of how to greet the demon, most likely due to the odd relationship between hope and tyler. they didn't blame hope for feeling such animosity towards their husband, but also felt the need to defend him each time. the balance provided a weird balance for the whole mikaelson-lockwood clan. however, now that she was in the faction, gabbi grew closer with hayley and tolerated klaus. shaking her head softly, she then nodded in agreement. "you can call me gabbi, by the way and you're right these dresses have a lot of fabric. i've always been a fan of a nice satin slip dress, feels nice against the skin, easy to get off...." her voice got lower, realizing that she was not in the presence of someone her age. sure, hope knew all about the birds and bees, but being a mom meant that not everyone felt comfortable speaking on the topic. clearing her throat, the demon took a sip of their champagne and smirked. "don't tell your mom i said that."
PAYING ATTENTION TO ANYTHING but the massive amount of fabric that the tribid had to currently mange to walk in, was proving to be a tad difficult. dainty hands, were gripping the corners of her dress, she'd glided her way through the many interested parties with promises of saving a dance or twelve for those that asked ( with no intention of delivering of course ) an ocean colored gaze, looked around, taking hold of a champagne flute, she allowed one side of her gown to drop. only coming to a sharp halt as she lightly slammed into someone else, the person appearing unfamiliar for a moment, before her gaze focused. " oh.. gab... mrs. lockwood? " their families weren't close ⸺ in fact her friendship with kaya was merely a few years old, and while she held the hellhound in high regard the history between families was a bit too dense to ignore. " still learning to navigate this thing. " she mused with an awkward laugh. " should have asked for an INSTRUCTION manual before wearing it. "
gabriela was out for her morning run, attempting to clear all the thoughts racing in her mind. the dead were being brought back to life, the whole disruption causing the demon to feel uneasy. taking a breather, they placed their hands on their knees and took the headphones out of their ears, only able to hear the end of what was being said from behind. looking at the source of the sound, their eyes widened before getting out to the way. "oh so sorry blossom!"
walking over to the girl, gabi gave a small smile before sitting down on the grass near the other. "how have you been?"

she could sense a change, a shift in the air. the recent nights sleep having led to nightmares. The whole of her being on edge and when she felt like that, she turned to drawing. legs outstretched infront of her and fingers trailing along the recent lines she had drawn. the bright sun soon blocked for a moment and blossom turned from looking at her page towards the person who blocked her. “sorry…do you mind just moving an inch to the left. I need the sunlight for a brief moment.”
after the newest faction meeting, hayley decided to scout the streets in her own way. taking people watching to the next step by using her hybrid abilities, she walked through crowds. it was clear who was human and who was supernatural, humans had no worry lines on their forehead. no one was really giving her any new details, a lot of them just anxious about the gruesome murders. still she kept going, getting lost in other conversations and not realizing the noise her body made, as it bumped into a loud chain-link fence. shaking her head, the hybrid realized that andrew was staring. "guess i got a little too caught up in other peoples business." a slight smirk covered her lips. "you doing okay andrew?"

rumor had it that there was a supernatural killer on the loose and those who were aware of the attack were on edge . it didn't help that the newbie vampire was attacked the moment he stepped in new orleans . but now there were actual murders happening in the city . heads severed and bodies bound and set on fire . this was enough to keep the redhead on guard , understanding that anything could happened at any given moment . andrew looked back when he heard a noise .
josie quickly shook her head no to his question, work had not been kind today, honestly nothing had. after news of the murders hit, everyone went into a frenzy, quickly taking their things to head home where they assume they were safe. "the job is a little hard when everyone rushes out of the room scared. did you hear about the murders?" normally she wouldn't ask this question in the open, but it seemed as if klaus and her were the only ones left in the museum. "if i do need any magical paintings you know you're the first person i'd ask." the siphoner smirked before placing all the papers back in the folder.
"is mom holding an emergency meeting with the news?"
Klaus ignored his first instinct which was to compel the fool that ran into Josie to pick all the papers up for the both of them, but he knew better than that after this long. Instead he gave the fool a dismissive wave and told him to leave and moved to pick up the papers with Josie. "Work being kind to you?" He questioned. He would say it had been year since he had seen her but that just wasn't true given the phone calls and the texts and the video chats Caroline had with them all. "Do you need to find another magically rare piece for the gallery?" He joked, knowing he could pull one out of storage anytime.
hearing faith's voice pulled the siphoner out of her bad mood, a sigh of relief left her lips as she began picking up the papers on the floor. shaking her head with a giggle, josie looked up at her sister with a grin. "you're right this would be ten times worse if these papers were wet." placing what was needed in a folder, she got up and flattened out the edges of her skirt. grabbing the papers in the blondes hand, she tilted her head with a smile. "work was, well it was awful and i didn't sleep last night so i'm on edge, sorry about that."
there’s an ‘oof’ when the two collide, and faith’s attention immediately turns to the paper cup in her hand which she tries to balance out of spilling its content over. thankfully, the misfortune ends with her sister’s flying papers. “could be worse,” faith offers as she kneels down to help pick up some papers with her free hand, “i could’ve spilled your drink all over.” she lets a small laugh out.
