as charlie confessed his good intentions, hayley cupped his face, tears welled in her eyes. nodding her head, the hybrid offered an emotional smile. "oh baby, i know you didn't mean to hurt henrik. you are going through a transition and despite how the rest of them are acting, this family is aware of the temptations you can be met with." she let out a heavy sigh, hating that when in distress the people around her children, had a tendency to become volatile. often forgetting the people that needed protecting in the first place. she saw that with klaus and later with the rest of the mikaelson family. even though it didn't shock her, hayley still wished for a change in that mentality.
her brows furrowed at her husbands threat to their son, but with charlie's soft face in her palms she refused to tense up. as her son leaned into her shoulder, hayley patted his hair softly and took slow deep breaths. "you are not going back there. we will get you some help that doesn't involve being locked away. that has never been the way to go and i know...i know your dad didn't really mean the threat. he's just easily influenced by your uncle." there was no way in hell, hayley was allowing her son back into the garden. she'd fight a counselor, someone who helped with drinking and go from there. there was so much she couldn't control, but finding charlie help was a mission she could work on.
Charlie turned to see his mother sitting beside him, her face filled with a mix of worry and exhaustion. Despite everything they were going through, she was there with him, offering silent support. His father had also come to visit, but the encounter had not gone well, leaving a heavy weight in the air. "I'm sorry, momma," Charlie murmured, his voice filled with guilt and regret. "I-I didn't mean to hurt Henrik. He was in pain, and I needed to save him." It was a confession he had only shared with his mother and brother, knowing the rest of the family wouldn't understand or care.
Charlie nodded, feeling the weight of his father's ultimatum pressing down on him. "Dad said if I don't shape up or stop drinking, he'll put me back in there," he admitted, the admission heavy on his heart. I can't go back in there mom, but I also can't stop the drinking not on my own." He leaned his head against her shoulder, seeking comfort in her presence.

GILMORE GIRLS REWATCH ↳ “Say Goodnight, Gracie” (3x20)
open starter ⊹₊ ⋆ after mini plot drop @inaducursehqstarters muses ⊹₊ ⋆ gabriela chavez location ⊹₊ ⋆ lakeview shore plots ⊹₊ ⋆ utp
there was a fog that refused to lift, gabriela had tried everything possible to not let her anger and frustration burst. sitting on a rock near the shore, her knees pressed tightly to her chest. anything to provide comfort to her overgrowing worries. raymis was back, managed to kidnap and torture her daughter. to make matters worse raymis also got kaya to use her demonic powers, something that gabi had hoped to do. because it opens the floodgates and raymis was not the person to help with the task.
he took everything from her, hopes that her family could find happiness in all the chaos. fears only swirled, like how there was so much more at stake all because she wanted to have a true family. there was still so much she didn't know, how her husband had also been killed and sired to a hope or how kaya wasn't even in this realm anymore. tears filled their eyes as they finally allowed it all to come out, the sorrow, the anger, the grief.
the demon had never been this vulnerable in public, but there really is a first time for everything.
the other approached her so softly, that gabriela didn't even realize she was there, until the quiet voice spoke. wiping their eyes, the demon looked over to see nova, someone who had known mariana for a long time. the only response that she could provide was a nod yes, before taking the tissues and rubbing her nose. "thanks, i mean you kinda already know what's wrong but really thank you." it felt calming, to have someone so caring at their side. the distress slowly rolled off their shoulders as they grabbed the water, taking slow sips to steady the nerves.
this was not how gabi wanted nova to see her, but there was no turning back. normally she would fight it, act as if this wasn't happening until the person left. "i'm just terrified for my family. they are in danger because of me. sure i thought that danger was dead, but i should've realized that someone like me, can only be happy for so long." last week, her only worry was the kids moving out of the house. they were all moving on with their lives and she was beyond excited. now, all of that felt so far away and it was all their fault.
What did Nova know about the Lockwood-Chavez family? Truthfully she knew Mariana the longest, ran into the remaining siblings, and that's about it. She also knows that Mariana must have been through it with this mystery kidnapper. Maybe that's why she wanted to compensate with care packages, not that it would make a huge difference. But sometimes everyone needed a pick me up.
Nova paused in her steps noticing someone cry. She made an observation that she looked like Kaya at an angle before shaking her head. The witch gingerly sat down next to her. She took out an unopened water bottle and tissue packet handing it to her.
"You don't have to tell me whats wrong." Nova said softly.
there was really no rhyme or reason as to how eleanor ended up at the brewery. maybe it was noise of busy people? someone is bound to help you in a crowd right? or at least that was what the tired girl had hoped. everything was fuzzy and hard to process, so she just followed the sound, shielding her face as the bright lights beamed from the building. dusting herself off, she finally realized that she was in the clothes her family buried her in. a black v-neck sundress and matching ballet shoes. while the only thing to identify her, was the dainty gold chain the read her name in cursive, nikolas gave it to her the night she died.
she was shaken out of her daze by a voice calling her way, looking up with a confused grin, she then pointed to herself to confirm. he sounded kind and there was water at the table, oh how long it had been since she had water. so she found herself skipping over to the empty seat, nodding her head at his question before grabbing the pitcher of water and gulping it down. it felt as if she her whole body lacked oxygen and liquid, causing her muscles to feel tense and strained. after a few seconds, ellie placed the now half empty pitcher on the table. her cheeks turning red as she realized what she had just done in front of everyone.
"oh my god, you'd think being newly dead was embarrassing but this really tops it." she admitted quietly, hoping only the person next to her could hear, while the crowd that glared only saw a nervous smile.

kilian sits comfortably under one of the weathered canopies just outside the parleaux beer lab, a hazy ipa sweating on the table in front of him. his fingers are coated in black from the charcoal pinched between them, sketching under the glow of the setting sun. lost in his craft, he finds some semblance of peace despite the subject of his sudden artistic inspiration. the details of the shaded drawing capture the intricate features of his best friend, lost in the fire that took their lives. they'd spend their friday evenings at breweries like this, decompressing after a long week of classes and enjoying the company of their closest friends. it was time taken for granted, so now he basks in every moment. relishing in each sip of his drink, recalling memories of laughter and deep conversations, and growing stronger in their bond with one another. now, the table is silent and only one of them remains to carry on the tradition. almost like clockwork and eager for a distraction from his grief, he spots the other step out of the brewery. a smile pulls at his lips and urges him to wave them over, setting aside his sketchbook and wiping his hands as clean as the napkins allowed. " hey ! are you meeting someone here ? 'cause i could use some company if you're not. " kilian says with confidence, before motioning to a seat at his table and leaning a tad closer to them, his tone taking a more playful turn, " besides, i'm getting pitiful stares from the other patrons here for drinking alone. if anything, i'm making it look cool . . . right ? "
"oh i'm fine don't worry about me." she smiled brightly at the other. "i wasn't paying attention, been pretending they are playing much different songs than they are." josie admitted all this easily, something she wasn't able to do often, but with alcohol in her veins and lizzie smiling as she talked with as many people as possible, it was hard to not feel as if in a daze. "you okay? sometimes when i'm not paying attention, i can be like a bull in a china shop."
Maybe it was because he didn't like crowds - the noise affecting him - that or he was just an awkward mess but he found himself fairly uncomfortable in the sea of people. He felt that he stood out, that all eyes were on him, and it was something that hadn't really gone away as he got older. Sighing, he looked for an open corner, not realizing that he was in someone's way until they bumped into him. "Shit," he said as he quickly turned around. "Are you okay?" he asked, gently grabbing her arm so she didn't fall

dark magic could be felt all around the city, causing the siphoner to feel as if an icy chill wrapped around her body. it had been a long day at work, josie constantly getting off track far too often, unable to get any work done. normally, she loved her job but it just felt off. all she wanted was to go home and sleep. maybe even wake up and have this day completely washed away from her system.
making her way out of her office, a stack of papers held tightly to her chest as she twirled out in a rush. josie wasn't looking and ended up running right into someone else, papers flying everywhere while a groan escaped her lips. "oh just great!" getting on the ground, she began the process of picking everything up that needed to be filed before leaving.
"oh my gosh jay, i'm so sorry, it's just been a few years since i've seen you near the house." hayley felt a little embarrassed, she'd know the kid for a very long time given who his parents were. when he and lizzie got engaged, they spent even more time together, but that had felt like so long ago. time was manipulated by the grief they all felt after the merge. "how are you doing sweetie?" she lifted her eyebrow at the other, knowing it was a loaded question, but it had to be asked. hope had become a totally different person after everything. how could she not? lizzie, hope, and josie were inseparable and intended to beat every odd that told them otherwise. jay was in the middle of it all and honestly the hybrid wasn't sure where his loyalties lied.
Jay nodded. "Lizzie," he said slowly as he looked at her. "Lizzie's fiancee." He hasn't really seem her family since it happened. Since she has died. But he had been with her 2 years, so they were all familiar in a way. Then he paused. "Also... you know Aiden's kid," he said given she was his dad's alpha.
hayley rounded the corner, anger laced in her furrowed brows as she heard the altercation miles ahead. it wasn't smart to be feeding like this just moments after the recent murders broke to the public, so she was going to make it stop. either this kid was the one going after all the supernaturals or he was extremely unaware of his surroundings, either way she could handle it. walking into the alleyway, the hybrid glared at the other, making her intentions very clear from her facial expression.
"no, i don't want to feed on someone in public after news of a serial killer is lurking these streets." shaking her head, annoyed that he used the word polite. "are you going to continue to cause a scene or finish this up?"
open ! tw: mutilation, gore, murder
This city was both entirely different and exactly the same as when he'd last seen it. The best part, of course, were all the aimless tourists, pretty college girls, and drunk bar-dwellers. It was his day back and he'd feasted like a king. It was magnificent, after so many years of desecration.
He leaned against a brick building in a dark alley, waiting to pick his victims off slowly, one by one. Whoever threw out the trash next would surely be in for a surprise. Hell, maybe he'd stick around and relish in their fear before enjoying a snack for the road. A girl stumbled out into the alley alone, clearly drunk. She spotted him immediately, covered in blood fang down. His eyes found her before she could scream. "You're going to come here. You will not make a sound. But don't worry, you will enjoy this."
Laurie tore her throat out with no hesitation, even as he felt a pair of eyes boring into his skull. "I'm so sorry, that's not polite of me, is it?" he said as he pulled away from the woman's neck. He still had one hand around the back and he pushed her forward with it. "Would you like some?" Blood dripped from the gaping wound at her neck, and her head fell limp to the side. "She's just divine."
gabriela nodded, wanting it to be true that this was all just stress, but the demon felt far from that. tyler was home, her children were all in one place, yet there was an uneasiness that wrapped around her and it wouldn't shake. "college is stressful, even when i loved being there, i'm really glad i never have to take another test again." pursing their lips, gabi gave the other a look, brows furrowed because it was weird to say any of this. "the dead they are coming back to life and i'm pretty sure there is something sinister lurking about as some chain reaction to this all. so i need you to be careful, i know you can handle yourself, but just be extra cautious."
it felt a bit of a relief that she heard gabriela mention that she could sense something, it made her feel as if she wasn’t going mad and she was sure other humans could sense a strangeness in the air, after all, that was what she was.
hearing the question, she paused for a moment on thought, a shrug soon followed. “yeah I have.” a pause followed again for a few seconds. “but I’ve been stressed with college and they happen when I get stressed and that.” she added. stress, it had to be stress.
a genuine smile grew on her face, as she move closer to felicity. allowing the comfort of the others presence to wash over her anxious body. "thanks, i feel so touchy with everyone. like when i'm with someone i know and trust, it's easier for me to breath." eleanor hated feeling this dependent on others, her whole life she was good at being alone, but it had been weeks since she had been able to be by herself. looking over at the sketchbook, she tilted her head and smiled. "i wish i knew what i needed, i'm just nervous all the time and every day there are these new memories that come back and it hurts cause how could i forget them?" no one wrote a book on how to handle coming back from the dead. "also not really sure how to tell a therapist about all this."
Felicity nodded, her focus still on her sketchbook as she listened intently. A warm smile graced her lips as she glanced up at the other girl. "It's okay. Is there anything you need?" she inquired, closing her book with care and turning her full attention to her companion. "You can come in if you want. I don't bite," she assured, her tone friendly and welcoming. Felicity was making an effort to be hospitable and approachable, hoping to put the other girl at ease with her offer of openness and friendliness.
