I will forever appreciate a theme in my fictional stories, & that’s exactly what Wind Breaker (by Nii Satoru) has, so, I present:

Wind Breaker characters have a theme to their names.. a thread:

Bōfūrin / 防風鈴

so, even though our protag group’s name is written and visually represented as “wind chime”, Bōfūrin’s name is where this group’s theme of trees/plants start:

防風鈴 (“prevent/protect” “wind chime”) has the same reading as 防風林, a type of forest planted strategically to prevent wind erosion of soil — much like Fūrin’s mission of protecting and serving their town

all of Bōfūrin’s named members (and close associations) so far have some element of tree/plant/wood in their last name (if you look at the kanji of their last names, you’d see a lot of wood radicals/木字旁):

桜 遥 • Sakura Haruka: 桜 / cherry tree

(fun fact: his name 遥 / haruka means "far"; also it's commonly a feminine given name)

蘇枋 隼飛 • Suō Hayato: 枋 / sandalwood (?) or tree used as timber, general term for wooden beams in houses

(fun fact: his last name 苏枋 is the Chinese name of a traditional reddish brown color, named after a pigment made from 苏木!)

楡井 秋彦 • Nirei Akihiko: 楡 / Siberian elm

杉下 京太郎 • Sugishita Kyōtarō: 杉 / Japanese cedar (cryptomeria japonica)

柊 登馬 • Hiiragi Tōma: 柊 / holly osmanthus (osmanthus heterophyllus)

(fun fact: his name 登馬 means "to mount a horse"; no, not that kind of mount, the regular horseback riding kind)

梅宮 一 • Umemiya Hajime: 梅 / plum tree

(fun fact: his name 一 is just "one")

This association also extends to Kotoha, who is very closely associated with Bōfūrin:

橘 琴叶 • Tachibana Kotoha: 橘 / orange tree

梶 蓮 • Kaji Ren: 梶 / paper mulberry (broussonetia papyrifera)

(fun fact: his name 蓮 / Ren means "lotus")

(fun fact: their name 佑 means "to help/protect" or "to bless"!)

桐生 三輝 • Kiryū Mitsuki: 桐 / empress tree (paulownia tomentosa)

柘浦 大河 • Tsugeura Taiga: 柘 / mandarin melon berry (maclura tricuspidata)

There's also 桃瀬 匠 (Momose Takumi, "peach tree") & 水木 聡久 (Mizuki Saku, "wood"), the two other Heavenly Kings

Personal little headcanons about Damian that I have

• Growing up Damian was told how much he looks like his dad only for him to hit puberty looking 90% like his mom

• Because he looks like his mom he's a very pretty boy, so much so that it stresses his brothers out because of all the attention he attracts, especially the unwanted attention lol

• The languages he's fluent in aside from English are Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, Russian and Spanish. His favorites to speak are Arabic and Chinese

• He's a very light sleeper due to his upbringing, however he soon realized that if he's sleeping next to someone he trusts he can actually get a good night's sleep

• The one person that he just can't seem to draw right is Tim

• Kids a weeb of course his drawing Hatsune Miku fanart

• Despite his best efforts he's lithe and lean when it comes to muscle mass as he gets older. He tells himself he doesn't mind, it makes him more nimble on the field. Tho sometimes he still wishes that he'll wake up one morning with the same build as his dad like he thought he would have when he was a kid.

• He's a clothes stealer. Shirts, hoodies, socks, doesn't matter he's taking them whether it be from his brothers or Jon

• He has a small collection of stuffed animals that he's accumulated over the years from friends and family. His three favorites are a bear that Alfred gave him when he first started living at the Manor, an elephant from Dick, and a cat that Jon won for him at a fair

• Some of his favorite romance animes included Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, Your lie in April

• He has a manga collection. Jon thinks it's pretty funny that amongst all his other more serious books there's just a bunch of manga

• He stops growing when he hits 5'7/5'8, he believes he'll hit a belated growth spurt for a while but once he hits like 25 he learns to accept his height. Still doesn't like talking about it tho

• Because Damian takes after his mom he's rather soft and delicate looking so people don't really expect him to know how to fight, that when he does knock someone down on their ass it's always a fun surprise for everybody

Precure in my au are under the the guardians those whom protect the dimensions /universe /other things

still thinking of the villain name and faction

The thing is

They protect the east

Like media made from East Asian

So

Lienna fell into the Dc universe is a one alarming and brings that villain group as well As the villain group is the counter balance to the guardians

Falls in to the dc universe specifically Batfam Because precure villain are just like take advantage of emotions all the time so l was thinking that bat fam would deal with is as thier villains are like u know

Her ankle twisted from running away from thugs

So Bruce couldn't turn away from a hurt child takes her in

Lienna and Dami are the same age

Bruce he’ll may or may not like Jiangcheng they would emotionally understand each other but that won’t mean they’d get along. Jiangcheng is something that needs to unpacked. Actually same as Bruce.

I’m not sure how’d he handle the bat kids to be honest. They may treat him like how they treat Bruce idk.

First of there is a high chance that’ll he’ll take Batkids under his wing no question asked. Is he the best guardian figure no but is he fun.

YES

He’s already a trouble maker plus the batkids that cause more mayhem more on the crazy side but Lanzhan his dear husband more or less you bring him down from his high.

He’ll also become a mentor of sorts for them

He … is the very calm one he wouldn’t stop the antic but just watches over Weiying just in case of injury or something. He definitely would have tea with Alfred.

Wait I thing they’ll just annoy there villains /thugs to death with how mushy and clingy Weiying and Lanzhan are together

They’ll mainly hanging out with the bat kids

Jinling and Damian both would be called bratty by everyone those two would get into cat fights

Zizhen he is see him chilling a lot with Duke like and Cass he's a good kid and usually stays out of trouble or the one recording the trouble.

Tim ,Stephanie and Jingyi those to be roasting the hell out the bat fam. Definatly get into some pety drama. I think the girls would love to play with MDZS kids hair like braiding.

I think Dick and Jason would love Sizhui he's a sweet kid who knows when to be passive agressive. Plus he is the second chillest kid in the group.

Tim and Jinling together they will band together to annoy and spite Damian.

Damian would probably just sit next to Sizhui as he’s the tamest one.
