FEMA is doing an emergency alert test on all TVs, radios, and cell phones on October 4, 2023, at approximately 2:20pm ET.
If you live in the US and you have a phone you need to keep secret for any reason, make sure that it is turned off at this time.
Yes, I'm doing this months in advance, and yes, my blog has very little reach, but I figure better to post about it more than less.
Please reblog and add better tags than mine, I'm bad at tags.
so i've been experimenting a while with filtering phrases, and here is a list i've come up with that i use to get posts that trigger my ocd / have compulsive language off my dash! this ends up taking out about 95% of these posts. i'm sharing it here so anyone who also wants to blacklist this stuff can as well.
it is helpful to me as someone with ocd to blacklist these phrases and makes tumblr much more accessible, so i hope it can also help others with ocd and similar mental illnesses (or people who just find this stuff aggravating)

reblog bait (people use this one as a trigger tag, so this one is better under filtered tags instead of filtered post content)
reblog for (this one tends to catch a lot of non-compulsive posts, but leaving it out allows a lot of compulsive posts onto the dash, so it's a tossup if you want to include it)

just filtering the word "reblog" will also work as a catchall for most of these, but will also catch a lot of non-compulsive posts, so this list is meant to minimize that effect.
on desktop/web: settings > account > filtered post content (should be right under filtered tags), at this url
on mobile/app: settings > account settings > content you see > filtered post content (again will be right under filtered tags)
tag posts with compulsive statements as "#reblog bait"
avoid using compulsive statements in posts - according to polls, this makes people less likely to reblog anyway! (poll 1) (poll 2)
if you are able to, avoiding sharing posts with aggressively compulsive statements would help. for example, those "reblog for good luck ignore and you'll never have good luck again" type posts, or things with "rules". i saw a lighthearted tournament with "From now on, if you see a matchup post - even accidentally - you are immediately morally obligated to vote one way or the other. Refusing to vote is strictly forbidden" in the pinned post. this is an example of an ocd unsafe statement. (op of that poll is not malicious though and is currently collecting opinions on whether to remove the statement or just warn for it).
avoid implying that reblogging, following, voting, etc or not doing so carries a moral value.
while reblogging a post may be very small stakes in itself, things like this can trigger compulsions that spiral into more than just reblogging a post. this is why this stuff is important even if it's small-stakes by itself.
you are under no obligation to share this.
Repeat after me: I draw so good. Not everything needs to be a banger. I'm not a content machine I'm a person who makes art and art takes time. Inspiration comes in waves and when it recedes that's when I should let myself rest
Reminder that:
Neopronouns are entirely valid.
It doesn't matter if neopronouns are "cringe" or "weird". In the eyes of someone who dislikes a group of people, everything about them will be "weird". Why not have fun while being weird?
Neopronouns can be hard to use or understand, but they do get easier with time.
Neopronouns being confusing or new does not mean someone can insist on referring to others with the wrong pronouns. (Of course, don't get hung up on calling someone the wrong pronouns by accident, but especially don't hateful.)
Neopronouns are not limited to anything at all. They aren't exclusive to nonbinary people, they aren't only for people who present a certain way, they aren't for people who also use xenogenders. They're not closed. They can be used by whomever.
Neopronouns can be anything. Nouns, consonants, vowels, entirely new words, symbols, emojis - they're what you make them.
Neopronouns are constantly evolving. Their entire existence is based around being new. You can use neopronouns for yourself, learn about the history behind neopronouns, practice using neopronouns, create neopronouns - everything is free to do forever. Be cool and have fun.
Aside from my seething and raging I will say that I fucking love narcissists. You do not deserve the way the world treats you. You do not deserve being looked down on and shat on and dehumanized and threatened merely for having a traumatic condition beyond your control. You are good and there are people who love you. And I know it hurts sometimes, but that is okay. It’s not your fault. You are not a monster. You are not an abuser. You are not evil or cruel nor are you some unstable unhinged child or whatever other ugly things others or your own brain wants to tell you. I love you, you deserve safety, and there’s always gonna be people in your corner fighting for and fighting alongside you.
the more time i spend on otherkin and alterhuman tumblr, the more i feel at "home", a sense of community and belonging thats never been there before

the thing about working on childcare these days is that I'm blown away by how open minded and genuinely curious these kids are. there are multiple openly queer kids, who are aware of the intricacy of the queer community and the multi-faceted nature of queer identity.
none of that was around 10 or 20 years ago. queerness wasn't even necessarily taboo during my childhood experiences, it just,,, wasn't taught or talked about, even from one child to another. I just didn't know it was a thing. but these little kids know about intersectionality!!!
and then when I was in high school, kids used 'gay' as an insult, but these kids at my job don't even blink differently when I told them the little queer flag pin on my messenger bag was the aroace flag. some of them ask what it means, because perhaps they've only heard of gay lesbian and trans. (and they've heard of gay lesbian and trans!!!!) I explain my flag and what it means, and it makes sense to them. that would have been alien for me as a ten year old.
some of these little lesbian girls and aroace and bisexual boys, the pan, poly, demigirl and nonbinary little ten year olds are the best friends that little me needed.
it's refreshing and heartwarming to see that the young ones of today are the kind of people this world needs.
PROTECT QUEER KIDS!!!! EMPOWER QUEER KIDS!!!!
