Friendly reminder that once you get into the goth subculture you don’t sell your individuality to Robert Smith and Peter Murphy. Be you. Like what you like, enjoy the band’s you liked before, enjoy things that have nothing to do with being goth. As long as you understand the community, the music, and the lifestyle then you’re goth. Fuck that gatekeeper bullshit, goth is about individuality, not being a clone of everyone in the 80s. Of course you should understand where the subculture came from, listen to or at least familiarize yourself with the original bands, understand the fashion and literature and you’re ready to go.
Honestly, you people, and by that I mean straight people, are ridiculous.

This post is for all of you who have survived the urge to end your life, either coming out the other side or still fighting to stay alive.
I noticed how when someone has a physical illness such as cancer, and they come out the other side or even remission, they are able to celebrate surviving. I think all of the survivors of being suicidal should too.
Congratulations, and keep on fighting.
