starting the scott pilgrim comics thinking "ramona's way above scott's league lmao, she's too good for him" and then coming to realize that, "oh, there is something deeply wrong with both of them actually, deeply, incredibly wrong. they deserve each other" only to be hit with the gradual gut punch of "oh, they're both crummy, but through their relationship, they come to terms with their past mistakes and poor choices and strive to be better. for themselves, for each other and the people they've hurt along the way. it was never a matter of deserving the other, but the process of becoming a person who CAN be in a healthy loving relationship with the other. they have their ups and downs, but they push through it regardless because they want to be with each other. because they love each other" can be such a personal experience
“if women want equality then they should be drafted” what if — just hear me out — what if nobody should be drafted. not even *looks behind my shoulder* not even men.
For those who don't know me, I will tell you my story
This is me Farah, I am 18 years old and I live in the Gaza Strip
Before the war, I lived in our house in the northern Gaza Strip and studied to get a good grade and study medicine abroad
(our home before)
But the war came, education stopped, and we had to evacuate our house after the occupation bombed our neighborhood with fire belts on November 13, 2023.
(our street before& after)
We were displaced on the Salah al-Din Road through the safe corridor. We saw nightmarish scenes there: corpses on the road, body parts, the body of a pregnant woman, bombed cars with body parts inside, and the soldier almost ran over my sister, but we survived. We walked for about 5 hours under the sun while I was on my period. I carry heavy bags
We lived in a tent in Rafah and our tent was burned in a nearby bombing
My father was arrested during the events in Khan Yunis and they tortured him severely
(Traces of torture on my father's body)
Now we are displaced in Deir al-Balah and live in a tent
(our tent)
Our house in the north was bombed on 7/23/2024
(Our house after the bombing )
We are now without any shelter

the situation in khan younis (southern gaza) is getting worse and worse everyday with israel trying to push more palestinians into rafah (the designed ‘safe zone’ which btw they have also been relentlessly bombing for weeks). doctors are performing open surgery at al-nasser hospital in the middle of power cuts and amputations while under siege and constant bombing around it. journalist saleh al jafarawi (@/saleh_aljafarawi on ig) is still in khan younis so he reports on the situation there - it is deteriorating rapidly and the number of injured and martyrs is huge. palestinians are getting sniped trying to retrieve loved ones and flee once again while carrying white flags, a repeat of what they lived when forced to evacuate from hospitals and homes in northern gaza. after succeeding in forcibly displacing palestinians from khan younis, israeli quad copters opened fire on them. palestinians are digging mass graves at al-nasser hospital for the martyrs. al-nasser itself is on the brink of collapse, in the same state al-shifa hospital in the north was, and today, after a day of non-stop bombings on khan younis, journalist mohammed el helo (@/mo_elhelo21 on ig), reports that al-nasser cannot deal with the huge volume of injured and displaced palestinians it is receiving
