Drawing for yesterday; Iām running behind on the days so this is an older drawing TvT
This makes me feel a whole lot better about the drawing I made where a sunflowerās head was cut off TvT
I have a question, relating to gardening.
There's a process that has to occur every once in a while. I think it's called de-heading. You cut the head off the flower when it begins to get sick so it grows back healthy.
From what I've heard, it's a relatively standard practice.
I know you work with plants, soo..
Does it ever get.. sad? To cut the head off?
It almost feels like you're killing the flower, in a way.
..Sometimes, it DOES get pretty sad, because I'm basically hurting the flower..
..But I try to think of it still helping the flower to get healthy.. because im taking care of it..!
I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING.
SO YKNOW HOW THE WHITESPACE LIGHTBULB IS PROBABLY BASED ON THIS ROOM?
THATāS THE ROOM WHERE THE VIOLIN IS RIGHT???
YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE THAT ROOM IS???
WHITESPACE IS LITERALLY THE FREAKING CLOSET
Ooo thatās fair!!! I like this take very much :D
Aight so Poppy Playtime moment of some random rant stuff
Kevin is autistic. Like thereās no freaking way heās not. Heās clearly a morally good kid, and he seems sweet, and he has friends- as shown in the chapter three tape where a kid named Joseph is asking if Kevin will be okay. I hate when people just depict him as a chronically angry kid T^T during the Doey battle, we hear him say āToo loudā, seemingly referring to nothing in particular. He *could* be referring to the fact that there are three different people making up Doey, but I donāt think so. Personally, that just sounds very much like overstimulation to me. Kevin is considered a āproblem childā, and also seems to have difficulty regulating and understanding his emotions. As an autistic person, I relate to that a lot, though I donāt have the same response to triggers as Kevin TvT
I like to think that Kevin is autistic, Jack is ADHD, and Matthew is neurotypical just so that itās like Doey has collected the whole trilogy like PokĆ©mon
Also Kissy Missy is the literal definition of comfort character material. Sheās soft and fluffy, helps us even when she doesnāt have to, risks her life and LOSES HER ARM trying to save us at the end of chapter four. Even when Poppy betrays us she tries to protect us. Like my freaking god if that isnāt comfort character material, idk what is
I miss you, Sunny. You were always someone I could depend on to listen.

Fun fact about me is that one of my favorite fanfiction tropes is Hanahaki disease- For those of you who donāt know what that is, āHanahakiā translates to āflower-spittingā. Itās caused by unrequited love. A flowering plant will begin to grow in the victimās lungs, and they cough up flowers as the plant slowly grows. The only cure is to confess, and if they donāt, or if they get rejected? The victim will succumb to the hanahaki. The time frame the person has between the start of the plantās growth and death depends on the AU.
Overall it all just very much reminds me of Basil but I havenāt been able to find many fanfictions or fanarts with hanahaki Basil, though I may just be looking in the wrong places TvT
Okay so I know a lot of people argue that Basil dying a lot in Blackspace means Sunny hates Basil (I think that was what you were referring to by saying Basil was killed constantly? Sorry if I misinterpreted that TvT). HOWEVER, I actually think thereās a lot of evidence to support that it means he cares for Basil a lot, and can be interpreted as repressed (romantic and/or platonic). In Blackspace, you still play as Omori. Iād like to address the spider-room death first. Basil starts being swarmed and covered in spiders, and eventually cries out to Omori for help. Omori backs away from Basil, and Basil disappears as the spiders presumably consume him. Notably, Omori is the one in control here. In the game, we play as Sunny; anytime we lose control of the Omori character, it presumably means that Sunny also does not have conscious control over Omori. Another thing that might be worth mentioning, is that although Omori technically overcame his fear of spiders in headspace, this is no longer headspace. This bit is more up to speculative, but it can be interpreted that Omori was too scared to save Basil from the spiders because he himself was scared of them. In which case, this death could also be interpreted as Sunnyās own fear causing pain for the people he cares about, something that we see at other points in the game.
Another particular Basil death that might be worth addressing, is the one in the glitched Neighborās room, where the headspace friends turn on him, and he cries to Omori for help before Aubrey hits him with her bat. To me, this very much doesnāt read as Sunny wanting Basil to die. It feels a lot more like heās helpless to do anything- Because yet again, at that moment, we cannot control Omori anymore, and neither can Sunny. He doesnāt want Basil to die; he just feels powerless to do anything about it. Also, the many possibly interpretations of Aubrey being the one to unalive Basil here. I do think that Aubrey hitting him with her bat is likely a nod to the fact that sheās been bullying Basil in the real world. Even more fuel that Sunny feels helpless to save Basil from being hurt for Sunnyās own actions (Mariās death, scribbling out the photos). Another possible interpretation (and one that is, admittedly, a lot less likely), is that itās Sunnyās idolized crush, that heās held onto for so long, is trying push down and get rid of the crush he has on Basil. It could possibly be taken as a sign of repressed feelings for Basil, whether that be because he hasnāt accepted his bisexuality (or whatever your personal headcanon may be), or heās simply scared of letting go of his old crush.
Thereās a lot more Blackspace stuff I could go into, but this is really long already aaand Iām in class TvT
TLDR; Blackspace has a lot of evidence of š³ļøāšš»
every day the Branch Coral line about Sunny and Basil being tied together with a string of fate
like,,, soulmates? your honour? string of fate??? perhaps the,,, red string of fate?
it doesnāt even have to be romantic, it just feels like a soulmate thing! like Sunny and Basil are tied together after this single incident, they will always be intertwined after that day
they may not have been known it, but they are so heavily intertwined together that even Sunnyās subconscious picked up on it. even coping mechanism calls out how the two are connected.
itās like - sir, the mixed signals of killing Basil constantly but then essentially using soulmate theory? do you hate him or want to kiss him? (/j)
also, with that joke, i do actually ship Sunflower, and this line speaks to the hopeless romantic in me to some degree - because what do you mean Sunny thinks āa string of fateā ties them together? like itās super dark, but also kinda gay. just slightly.
anyways, the Branch Coral was super cool and i love the slight soulmate implications on Basil and Sunny even though itās super screwed up!
(also thereās the line - itās so minor but like dude-?! the sheer gayness of this is amazing /j)
I have no idea what I'm doing ever :3 She/They pronouns; nonbinary and pansexual (I'm a minor)
