Oh Canon Divergence My Beloved

Part of the reason I love emerald duo so much is because no matter how you interpret their dynamic (romantic, platonic, familial, ect.) there's one fact that's present no matter what.

Techno and Phil love each other

Whether they're war buddies reuniting for another fight, or estranged lovers picking up the pieces of the greatest love they've ever known, or wrapped up in the most explosive family dynamic known to man, they will lay down their lives for one another without question.

The fact that those words were said after Phil had said and done something silly. Something that put a smile on Techno's face. Because that's what they did best. They always make each other smile, and it's really easy to love someone who can make you laugh that much in such a short amount of time.

A noble sentenced to die is allowed to choose their execution method. They ask to die in honourable combat against the king's knights, armed with a wooden sword while the knights have real weapons. It's been 24 hours since the execution started and the king is running out of knights.
