I hate that I’m always trying to find cool biology themed stuff to wear but all the “nature inspired” clothing companies just have like two crossed arrows or a minimalistic mountain on a sweatshirt. Fucking lame, that’s barely even nature-adjacent. Put the life cycle of a salamander on a jacket, put hyena skeleton patterns on leggings, put a damn field guide of birds of prey on a peacoat and THEN you can have my money. Do NOT give me a shirt with a leaf on it that says “stay wild” or some bullshit I would much prefer clothing that broadcasts to everyone around me how many teeth an adult Jaguar has or how some pitcher plants can catch and digest rats.

Another funny misspelling collection
A few of the more creative spellings of Christmas I’ve come across while looking for Dear Santa letters in old newspapers this year.
Ok so like if the argument is “Rauru questionable”… why? Why is he questionable? Because he’s powerful?
Ganondorf attacked him and he responded with restrained self defense. Ganondorf lobbed thinly veiled insults at him and his mixed race marriage in his own home, and Rauru responded with patient diplomacy.
One of the points made in the “Hyrule is imperialist” comments is the assumption that Rauru inviting Ganondorf and the Gerudo to join his kingdom basically amounted to a threat… except that’s really obviously not the case?
Rauru didn’t conquer them even after they attacked him. He didn’t conquer anybody. None of the other lands are under Hylian control. They all have their own leadership. They all manage their own resources. In BotW King Dorephan refers to Hylians as the Zora’s allies… not their masters.
Rauru established an alliance, not an empire.
People are concerned, saying “I hate how the other races are subservient to Hylians” except… they’re not. They don’t follow the royal family of Hyrule unquestioningly.
To get help from the other people, Zelda still had to make diplomacy trips and convince them to aid her. Convince them. Not command them. They’re loyal to her because she shows them the respect they deserve and is dedicated to caring for and protecting everyone. She’s not entitled to rule like Ganondorf thinks he is, people follow her because she’s a good leader and it seems to be the same with Rauru. He shared his immense power with others and sacrificed himself to protect everyone from being subjugated by Ganondorf.
Reading Rauru or Zelda as imperialist or Hyrule as an oppressive empire requires ignoring practically all of the canon text and projecting a number of things. So… why do people keep pushing that extremely shallow reading?
Call Nintendo out on its bullshit, by all means! The series has improved over the years because people voiced their legitimate concerns in the past. I just think this whole “imperialist propaganda” argument is completely off base and I really wish the people saying this stuff would pay more attention to the deliberate efforts Nintendo’s made to diversify the Hyrule royal family and the world of Hyrule at large.

Zellard Headcanons Pt. 3
To celebrate today’s awsome Monster Hunter Sunbreak trailer. - Zellard isn’t one for large parties. Sure he shows up as an important political memeber of the village. However, he keeps to himself, sipping wine in the corner of the room.
- Zellard is a lover of fine wine as much as he is a lover of tea. He buys imported kegs of wine for himself and often drinks late into the night. The Wyverian sometimes passes out with a good book in one hand and a bottle of red wine in the other.
- Despite no longer actively hunting, Zellard still works out and eats healthy. Sure he’s no longer the absolute hunk he was as a young man, but he is still well built and quite the looker.
- Many Wyverian’s sneak a look when Zellard is doing his morning jog as he rarely wears a shirt. Plenty simp for the soft spoken, sexy Wyverian. It will take more than time to ruin Zellard’s handsome physique.
- Zellard may be quite muscular and a skilled fighter, but he is still quite old and full of aches and pains. He sometimes rewards his cultists for rubbing his aching back and feet, something some are all too eager to do.
- He often goes into a beserker rage during a hunt, a far cry from his calm fecade. If unarmed he will use his hands, feet, and even teeth at a moment’s notice. Zellard doesn’t show this side often, but none would want to be on the recieving end of his blade.
- Lastly, Zellard isn’t used to physical affection, but boy does he need it. He very well could wind up sleeping on top of his significant other like an oversized cat. There is no hope of moving him either, for you are now his bed lol.
Zellard Headcanons Pt. 2
Some more headcanons for our favorite bastard
- In Rutoh village, Zellard is the village baby sitter. He has enough patience to handle roudy children. Zellard often acts as their mentor as well.
-Zellard’s ears are his weak point. If you can reach them, give them a good rub and he’ll be blissed out in no time. His ears flutter when he’s happy too.
-Though Zellard was once a powerful hunter, after retiring he sold most of his weapons and armor. Some items were given to old friends or displayed in his house, a distant reminder of his past.
-Zellard doesn’t speak much about his past and keeps his emotions to himself. He only provides his opinions when he deems it needed. Instead Zellard prefers to speak on current matters as to deflect any unwanted questions about himself.
-He was once more open to others, but that was long ago... Red was one of the few humans he ever vented to, the young human being one of his few friends in his later years. We know how that ended....
-Thanks to his long life, Zellard has plenty of skills. Drawing, poetry, and lute playing are some of the things he does in his spare time. Sometimes he plays music to the children to get them to sleep.
-Zellard himself is a light sleeper in part due to his years as an ever-alert hunter, and because of bad nightmares. He drinks soothing herbal tea to help his nerves, but doesn’t dare bring his struggles up to anyone. Besides, they don’t need to know, right?
-Lastly, Zellard has a worldly taste, but he will always come back to Rutoh village’s classic crullers. Crullers aren’t just Alwin’s specialty, but a village tradition, and a snack the otherwise fit and athletic Zellard can’t resist.

Some Zellard Headcanons because he deserves more. -Zellard started off as a proud monster hunter. He slew monsters with great skill. His long lifespan gave him centuries of experience. Zellard hunted alongside other Wyverian hunters. -Zellard was one of the few G-rank (Master rank) hunters of his time, and one of the few Wyverian hunters. Wyverians were hanging up their blades in favor of peace, but not Zellard. -Our bad bitch did have other Wyverian love interests. Zellard was bisexual, a common sexuality in Wyverians (In this HC) -Unfortunatly, Zellard lost most of these love interests due to hunting accidents, seeing some of them die in his arms. He claimed he got used to death, but that was a huge lie. -Zellard did retire after a battle with a powerful elder dragon wounded him and killed most of his team. After that traumatic battle, Zellard returned to Rutoh village. He returned a hero, but also a changed man. From then on, Zellard was the second in command of the village, hiding his grief and trauma as to keep up appearances. That’s all for now! Katze out.

When is Astor Week?

Hopefully this gives everyone enough time to prepare and also incorporate whatever we learn in the new DLC.
What kind of content is allowed?
Original content of any kind related to Astor from Age of Calamity.
Of course, art and fanfiction will be the bread and butter of the content, but other types of content are acceptable as well (GMVs, memes, theories, essays, playlists ect.) Get creative!
Also all ships are allowed. This includes OCs and self-shippers. This week is going to be as inclusive as humanly possible. This is a ship and let ship event.
What kind of content isn’t allowed?
Explicit/NSFW visual art isn’t allowed on tumblr. Although you may post your NSFW art on a different platform (such as twitter) where it’s allowed and create a SWF version for tumblr.
M and E rated fanfics ARE allowed however, but should be posted in full to AO3 and then linked to tumblr, with an indication that it’s an M or E rated fic.
How do I participate?
Use @astorweek and I will reblog it. If your content is outside of tumblr (such as youtube, AO3) create a post linking to said content, and I will reblog your work. As long as your post contains some kind of indication you wish your work to be included in the event, it will be relogged here.
