See, I'm a deeply watsonian soul. To me, StephCass is so special because they're so obviously soulmates, but they aren't easily defined. How are they soul mates? Are they qpr? Romantic? Do they fuck? Do they even kiss? Do they even realize they're together? Idk if anything but 2000's mall emo about deeply homoerotic friendship will ever really capture them, and even then that music can be a stretch. They're obsessed with eachother, they never talk about it, they'd die for eachother but they're still calling themselves friends as they crawl into their shared bed. What are they? whenever the tumblr people in my phone tell me about Crisis On Infinite Earths, I think of that panel where Superman is holding Diana's limp-looking body because whenever this one video essayist that I like talks about Crisis, he shows that exact image on screen. I know the panel’s supposed to be hard-core or sad. But Superman is tilting his head to the sky and it looks like he's howling or something and I laugh SO hard EVERY TIME.
