thinking about boyfriend jungwon; it’d be such a minute and simple action— him zipping up the back of your dress— and yet it’d have a kaleidoscope of butterflies fluttering about the pit of your stomach.

“let me”, he’d mumble softly, fingertips grazing the bare skin of your back, the touch being feather-light, almost gingerly; his fingers would find the metal of the zipper, the cool material sliding upward, inch by inch, his knuckles lightly brushing against your spine in a way that made your heart thump.

he’d be so close— so close, you could practically feel the warmth of his chest against your back, despite the small distance between your bodies. and as you’d glance up, eyes meeting the mirror before you, you’d notice the look plastered across his face— his plump lips would be slightly parted in concentration, his hair falling softly over his forehead, ending by his pretty eyes.

“there”, he’d say, his voice barely above a whisper, as he fastens the clasp at the top of the zipper; instead of stepping back, however, his hands would linger over the curve of your shoulders, his thumbs tracing small, absentminded circles against your skin, which now burns ever so slightly with the warmth emanating from his touch.

“you look..” he’d start, before pausing, as if to search for the right words; “you look beautiful, baby”— and his voice would be so sincere and soft, it’d make your heart ache.

“HI PRETTY,” Sunghoon grins, his muscles tightening to avoid collapsing on you.

“Hi baby.” You reply with a small giggle, lying underneath him with his hands and arms parallel to your face. He lets out a breath, pushing himself up as he keeps his eyes on your pretty face. 

“Can't focus when you're under me like this, angel.” He says, but he doesn't ask you to move. He's enjoying this a little too much. 

“You aren't complaining, though.” You giggle, cupping his cheeks with a grin plastered across your face. He hums in response, giving your lips a small peck as he lowers himself closer to your body. 

Up, down, kiss. 

“Such a tease…” He whispers under his breath, doing a few more pushups and brushing his lips on yours before lowering himself completely—lips colliding messily, muffling your giggles. 

Your hands run down his chest as he kisses you, feeling his abs that he'd been working on. He chuckles, breaking the kiss. 

“You like them?” He says, taunting you. You nod eagerly in response, “I do, very much..” 

“Good. Been working on them just for you.” He replies, crashing his lips onto yours once more.

Sunghoon’s voice filters through his headset, low and focused as he clicks away at his keyboard. “Jake, left—no, your other left—”

You don’t care about his game. You don’t care about Heeseung and Jake yelling through his speakers. Right now, all you care about is the way your stomach is twisting painfully, the dull ache spreading through your lower back, the exhaustion settling deep in your bones.

So you do the only thing that makes sense—you climb into his lap.

Sunghoon stiffens immediately, his fingers pausing over his keyboard as he glances down at you, eyes wide. “Whoa, baby—”

“Sunghoon, what the hell are you doing?” Heeseung’s voice crackles through the headset.

Sunghoon exhales, wrapping an arm around your waist as you nuzzle into his neck. “Uh—”

Jake snickers. “Dude, are you getting cuddled mid-game?”

Sunghoon groans, already reaching for the keyboard with one hand, but you shift slightly in his lap, and he falters. Your warmth, the way your arms curl around him, the way you press a soft, barely-there kiss against his skin, it all makes him forget about his stupid game in an instant.

“Guys, I gotta go,” he mutters, ripping his headset off before they can protest.

He tilts his head down, nudging your cheek with his nose. “What’s up, princess?”

You don’t answer, your face buried against his throat. His fingers tighten around your waist, thumb stroking circles against the fabric of his hoodie. He lets you stay like that, soaking in the way you sigh against his skin, pressing another featherlight kiss to the base of his jaw.

His chest tightens. “Baby,” he murmurs, petting your hair now. “Tell me what’s wrong.”

When you finally look up at him, he swears his heart cracks right down the middle. Your eyes are glossy, your lips slightly parted, your entire expression one of pure vulnerability.

“Do you love me?” you whisper.

For a second, he just stares. He doesn’t answer, not because he doesn’t know what to say, but because he hates that you even have to ask.

Instead of responding, he stands, lifting you into his arms and carrying you across the room. You make a small noise of protest, but he hushes you, setting you down gently on his bed before disappearing out the door.

When he returns, he’s holding a heating pack, a bottle of water, and your favorite snacks.

He kneels beside the bed, placing the heating pack on your stomach before brushing his fingers through your hair.

You blink up at him, “How did you know?”

“Because you asked me that dumb question.”

Your breath catches.

He cups your cheek, thumb stroking over your skin as he leans in, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your forehead. “Don’t ever ask me that again, okay?” he murmurs against your skin. “You already know the answer.”

⇢fluff, alcohol consumption (reader is tipsy), written this with post-timeskip Tsukki in mind, your honor they're idiots in love, they want each other bad. anyway, self indulgent short drabble

Tsukishima thinks his heart is going to explode from how close you are to him. The room is silent and you're haf-asleep in his bed, wearing his t-shirt, smelling of his shower products and he almost doesn't mind the sweet, lingering trace of alcohol on your breath.

When you invited him and Yamaguchi to a party that night to celebrate the end of exam season he initially wanted to refuse, but the thought of you going only with his friend, getting hit on by random guys at the club didn't sit right with him. So he tagged along and watched you dance and chat up whoever was willing to spare you the time of day. To say he was irritated would be an understatement but Tsukishima knew better than to comment on your behavior; he knew how easily you sulked and pouted until you got your way. And you always ended up getting your way with him– he liked you that much, though he never found the words to tell you. He had to basically drag you home that night, helping you take off your makeup while you sat on the edge of the bathtub, complaining about your headache. It was Yamaguchi's idea to let you stay the night at their flat considering the state you were in. Tsukishima wanted to point out that you weren't in fact that drunk, just tipsy, but he held his tongue. He couldn't waste an opportunity to keep you by his side just for a little longer. So after you showered and joined him in bed, he was finally faced with the reality of it all.

You're here, pressed up against him, your nose nudging against his jaw as you shift around, trying to find a more comfortable position. He feels warm, too warm, his palms sweaty as he adjusts, rolling on his side to give you more space. His hand comes up to your waist to prevent you from completely rolling over him and the little breathy hum you let out at the touch is a low blow. Tsukishima has always been analytical, trying to make sense of the world through logic and his sharp mind almost never failed him. But what can he do when his brain is basically mush, heart thumping so fast he's afraid you'll hear it if you lay your head on his chest? He tells himself to go to sleep, just close his eyes, take a deep breath and calm down but he can't— not when you're so close and fit so well against him.

And then you speak, a breathy, barely audible whisper of his name and his resolve crumbles. "Yea?" he says back, pressing his forehead against yours, thumb rubbing circles on your hip.

"d'you have some water? My throat feels dry."

He nods as you cough, slipping out of bed and heading to the kitchen to bring you a glass of water. By the time he returns you're already propped on your arm and he can see you blinking slowly in the soft moonlight.

"Here you go. Drink up." he mumbles, fingers brushing against yours when you take the glass and bring it to your lips, emptying it in a few greedy gulps. "Jesus... slow down, it's all yours." You give him a glare and set the glass down as he joins you under the blanket again.

"I was thirsty ok? Plus my head hurts so bad. Can't you give me some paracetamol?"

"Not when you've still got alcohol in your system, dummy. I'll give you one in the morning." he huffs, slipping his hands into your hair to massage your scalp before you get to complain more.

Kei's thumbs rub against your temples, soothing the dull ache and you finally relax, your protests melting on your tongue as you close your eyes again. "There, better?" he whispers and you nod, cuddling up against his chest. "Yea, thanks Tsukki. You're a saviour."

"A saviour, really?" he teases and you chuckle.

"You know what I mean."

And Tsukishima knows– at least he hopes he does. Hopes that behind that little sleepy smile and content expression of yours lays a feeling akin to his. But he pushes down those thoughts, leaving them for tomorrow because he's finally starting to fall asleep and as his breath settles and his eyes flutter shut, Tsukishima promises himself that one day he'll get you to sleep by his side every night.

HEESEUNG

after pondering about it for a while— would be patient, waiting for the right time to say his flirting line to you.

would watch you from afar as you walk, following your trajectory— like some kind of stalker — looking for the moment there would be no one around you. 

then, when it comes, his shoulder would ‘accidentally’ bump into yours and make you, sort of dramatically, stumble on the side. the only reason you would not fall face flat on the ground would be his hand around your arm. 

“i’m so sorry,” he would tell you, with his hand on his heart and all.

you would smile at him and he would blush, “i’m fine,” you would assure him, like you knew exactly what he wanted. 

“oh, yes, you are” he would smirk.

this guy would spend days looking for a good pick up line to use on you because he would read somewhere that it could work well. 

would be so content of himself when he finds one. would lean on his chair with his arms crossed and satisfied sigh leaving his broad chest— would also nod in almost comedic way.

a day, would come sit next to you then stay silent for a while. 

his phone’s screen would appear in front of your face suddenly, a warm smile would be drawn on his face, “all the good pick up lines were taken but you aren’t” he would softly say. “mind if i get your number?”

and, no, you would not mind at all.

JAKE

as the hopeless romantic and pathetically dramatic guy that he is, the chance that he would not choose the most dramatic one he knows or can find would be truly little— nonexistent even. 

would fall right at your feet, literally, because he has no shame at all when it comes to that burning attraction he has for you, and would stay on the floor for a long time. 

you would have to lower yourself to check if he is even breathing, you would poke his cheek, “are you okay?” 

the sight of his breathtaking smile would make your stomach tighten as he would look up to you. he would run his hand in his hair like those guys in romance japanese comics. 

“i’m okay,” he would affirm. “just fell in love with you,” then he would wink.

SUNGHOON

would wait until he secured an actual real and true date with you before trying any pick up lines. 

on a sunny day, would come pick you up for your date without really telling you where you are going, so you will find yourself following him around without knowing much at all. 

“sunghoon,” you would call him gently and he would turn to look at you with a fond look, “where are we going?”

would actually want to respond to you at the moment, but he would be hit with the realization that he can do the smoothest thing ever known to mankind in that exact moment. 

“i’d like to take you to the movies but they don’t let you bring your own snacks in,” this insane man would tell you, “so, what about the aquarium?” 

SUNOO

would be so sweet about it. with fondness in his eyes, would look at you from the corner of his eyes not so discreetly— gathering the courage to speak up. 

would watch you scroll through your phone as you stand beside him, so pretty and so warm, would be unable to take his eyes off of you.

when, maybe by telepathically calling from him, you get off your phone and look at him, his face would welcome your eyes with a soft smile that you would return. shyly, would speak up, “di-did you fall into a pile of sugar?” he would ask. 

his shyness and nervousness would mirror the pink in his chubby cheeks when you would give him a confusing look, “because you look super sweet,” and would proceed to get full red in the face immediately. 

you would need to tell him that it’s really cute as he hides his face with his hands. 

JUNGWON

would stare at you shamelessly for at least ten hot minutes, knowing well that it makes you flustered. his flirting would be so raw and obvious, and he would not even care about it. 

now, the pick up line use would be just for the sake of teasing you more, to get a cute reaction out of you. would bite into bait-like questions when you would ask him what is wrong with him. 

he would shrug, “i was just wondering if you were tired,” and there would be his butterflies sending smirk. “you know, ‘cause you have been running through my mind all day,” 

stopping at one would be too great to be true, would add some more when you blush, “i mean, angels are supposed to be in heaven. how’d you escape?” and would laugh when you would  kick his caf.

although he is the king of flirting, all of his abilities would vanish in front of you. 

would have asked his friends how to properly flirt with the girl he likes and wants to ask out, which would be not helpful in the slightest. so, he would have to ask the internet. 

unfortunately for him, his heart would start beating in his ears at the thought of using a pick up line on you alone, but dear god, he would want you so bad that he would be ready to do anything. 

even using stupid pick up lines for something as simple as your socials. 

would approach you while you are alone, so the situation would be less embarrassing, coughing to get both your attention and his voice out, “c-can i get your instagram?”

you felt a gentle nudge at your shoulder followed by a small, “hey.”

it was your boyfriend, jay, and at the sight of him, you smiled.

you two decided to go on an adventurous date together, and instead of taking the car, you thought, why not try taking the bus instead? it took a lot of convincing for your rich boyfriend to finally comply, but eventually, he did…

which lead you to where you two were, sitting at the bus stop together, deciding it would be your meeting spot for the day.

“hey,” you greeted back with a smile and a reciprocated nudge to his side.

after a few minutes, your bus eventually arrived and you two hopped on together, finding two seats beside each other near the back.

“jay?”

“yes, love?” he replied softly, turning his head to look at you attentively.

“i’m tired.”

he smiled and nodded, slightly surprising you when you felt his hand tug at your sleeve, pulling you even closer to him before he wrapped his arm around you, holding you near.

you elbowed his side playfully, causing him to let out an exaggerated grunt of pain.

“whatever, just wake me up once we’re there,” you said, closing your eyes and adjusting your body to get more comfortable as you nuzzled your head deeper into the crook of his neck.

he chuckled softly before massaging your arm lovingly, just enjoying each other’s presence as you two made your way to begin your day together.
