Right now, russia is again bombarding Ukraine with missiles.
My husband’s parents write that it hit somewhere very close to them so the windows almost flew out. They have no light, heating, and communication. You know what, it’s -1 in Kyiv now. Below zero. If the windows will fly out, then -1 will be in the apartment as well. And these are the living conditions of a huge number of Ukrainians. If there is no heating for a long enough time, the water will freeze in the pipes, and do you know what water does when it freezes? Expands. Bursts pipes. And then there will be no heating all winter. In Ukraine, it can be -20 for the weeks in winter. The russians are killing us with missiles right now and will kill thousands more because of the infrastructure damage they are causing.
And my parents are now sitting in the basement. My brother should sit in anatomy class to make super-tech prostheses and help people in the future. My father should be at work deconstructing modern Wi-Fi transmission technologies. My mother should provide construction materials for rebuilding everything that russia destroyed. But all this does not happen because they are sitting in the basement. Because of the russians. Because we were unlucky to be neighbors of an empire that in 2022 believes that Ukraine should belong to them. Every russian is responsible for the fact that my brother will not make prostheses. Every russian is responsible for the fact that someone in Ukraine will freeze to death this winter. In the destruction of our country. In the murders of thousands of innocent people who just want to be free in their own country. No russian has done enough to stop it, because russia’s attacks on Ukraine are still going on. But in reality, they did not even try. “Good russians” just recently declared that western countries should give money to russia after the war so that they would not be offended. Yes, right at the time when they literally destroyed half of Ukraine.
They are hypocritical imperialist scum and they will not change as long as russia exists.

Maybe, but aren't you like EVERY other boy out there trying to pit women against each other in the hopes that if we are engaged in this petty tussle we'll never realise our full potential as a collective sisterhood and that way you get to feed on our insecurities?

Okay in my house we have a strange tradition. My mother builds this beautiful Christmas village.
It wraps all around our house through the rooms and under the trees and it’s wonderful.
Every year she hides the Christmas Vampire
This started when I was a very small got child and spread to all of my friends, including my best friend from elementary school who I just so happened to grow up and marry. Now that we have grown up and moved nearly 600 miles away we still always go home for a week at Christmas for multiple reasons, including the Christmas Vampire.
Needless to say we still partake and things have gotten heated.
Stay tuned for the epic conclusion and to see my husband and father in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s sooty costume when I find the Christmas Vampire First!
