Since today is Ukrainian Independence Day, I know a lot of our friends would like to congratulate us on this occasion. And while we do appreciate each and every kind word, today the best present from you would be donations to Ukrainian paramedics battalion Hospitallers. Every day they're working hard on the front lines to save lifes of our soldiers, give them medical help they can provide on the field or evacuate them to the hospitals.
Hospitallers have no government funding and are working purely on donations, please help them to save as many lifes as possible. Remember, there's no small donation, every single one no matter the amount will help.
What? Can’t a girl dream about making Asterix comics??? 🤡❤️
Seriously, looking back at these episodes it really hammers how both are as fathers. Even in the face that their wealthy, powerful proprietor is facing assassination, he chooses his daughter's health over being a white knight to this pompous, entitled bird who then is ungrateful that his employees were the ones to save him. On the other hand, when Via needs him the most he will neglect her to focus on his petty squabbles and flirting with his booty call which caused the current strife in the family. She might say he loves her but his actions really contradicts how self-centered he really is towards her regards. He will do the bare minimum after spending the previous time pushing her away. This is in contrast who will put all his focus on Loona when he feels like it is important. What's even more ironic this is from a guy who only had her since she was 17 while Stolas was always with Octavia but as time has gone by he has done less to focus and prioritize her needs over his own. Again why is Stolas called best father when that title should go to Blitzo.
Yeah, Zuko Alone is still one of the very best, if not the best, episodes of Avatar. The shocking and disturbing revelations about his family and backstory are riveting, the choreography of his fight with the earthbenders is incredible, and the choice to explore Zuko’s psychological trauma through the framework of a Western is brilliant. But above all, the moment when Li turns on Zuko and rejects him for being a firebender is so important, as it’s the first of many scenes in his path to redemption in which he tries to help but is ultimately rejected by those he saves. It’s such a pivotal episode for his character development, and it’s still one of my favs.
The Himura resented the upheaval of the pre-quirk social order that caused them to drop in status. They hated the ‘mixing of blood’ - they hated the idea of being tainted with heteromorphs.
Which is the same belief that led to Shoji being attacked for daring to touch someone. The people of his village would rather a child die then be saved by a heteromorph.
All this started because when quirks started appearing, people could not accept this change. They clung to a narrow definition of ‘humanity’ and rejected all those they viewed as not fitting into the standards.
Rejected and considered them inhuman.
And this concept continues to exists, whether as a yakuza looking to ‘cure’ people of these supernatural abilities so he can return humanity to ‘normal’,
or as prison guards looking at their ‘wild beasts’ of inmates with utter disgust.
It’s been more than a century after the emergence of quirks, though, and the definition of humanity has been expanded to include quirks, including even heteromorphic quirks.
However, this also means that to set apart what isn’t ‘human’, new standards had to be created. New lines had to be created…
…and enforced.
There is, of course, logic to why and how and where lines are drawn! That’s just what civilization is. That’s how society functions.
Heroes defend the lines from villains that violate it.
But to the people who don’t make the cut, who are on the other side of the lines for whatever reason, they feel this rejection deeply and sharply.
And so we end up where we are right now.
As Dabi says, “Behold, the limitations of superpowered society.”
my Among Us strategy is to get murdered as quickly as possible. i prefer to be a ghost bc it makes doing my tasks easier. i find it so annoying when my crewmates interrupt me for pointless meetings like ‘oh shit there’s a dead body in the reactor.’ green sasuke i don’t care i have data to upload

“Chie, I hope your hemorrhoids rub together so much that they hurt worse than when they every have before!“
“Epaphra is not good at ball games.”
“Two friends were here. While they were, they had bad service in every way from a guy named Epaphroditus. They threw him out and spent 105 and half sestertii most agreeably on whores.“
“Secundus likes to screw boys.“
