I keep thinking about that post about the whole genre of movies about a white guy getting into an asian philosophy, matrial art etc and then proceeding to surpass his teacher and be the best ever at it, and I started thinking about the opposite of it.
I want a movie about a chinese dude who comes to Finland, downs an entire bottle of Koskenkorva, tries to fight a nearby cow and ends up lying face down in a ditch while sobbing about his ex wife and having like 5 finnish dudes staring at him in awe like
“That’s him. That’s the chosen one.”
The Young Wolf in a nutshell:
I keep remembering a run of Hamlet I saw a few years ago, where the Ghost was costumed in full plate armour which was very noisy, and instead of muffling it, they had him crash across the stage, stomping so the whole set rattled, and he said all of his lines in a bellow, like he was furious with Hamlet.
And the thing that made it absolutely terrifying was that Hamlet was the only one who reacted. He was cowering, and covering his ears with both hands, and yelling to be heard over the noise.
And no one else seemed to know why he was doing that. The other actors didn't even raise their voices.
That's scary, something so loud and painful, and REAL, and the people around you don't even notice it, and think that you're the crazy one.
i really need the Mai cut of Battle City. like she shows up thinking she's in for a normal card tournament but seto kaiba apparently saw duelist kingdom as the bare minimum amount of drama and danger that a card tournament needed, because he is the most dramatic man on earth. also apparently he's been fighting visions of a past life or something and desires to control god. that yuugi kid is being targeted by.... violent gangsters? or something?? over the card games?? and OH, he's also possessed by a magic ghost. who plays card games. Mai keeps looking at Jounouchi for support but no, that dude's been on board for the magic card game ghost since day one. then she gets to the finals and the other contestants are, somehow, yet another magic card game playing ghost possessing a teenager, and three members of a three thousand year old cult who are ALSO magic and involved in the most convoluted family drama of all time, which they are going to play out during a fucking CARD GAME. one of them might have been the guy trying to murder yuugi and has... mind control? his sister can see the future and refuses to watch any of the games because she knows what will happen, what. Mai is like, whatever, it's a card game bitch and i'm good at it, but then there's a fucking card that requires knowledge of an ancient language to play and then she goes into a coma. what the FUCK
One of my favorite things is when the players make full use of the Game Changer set
welcome to the "charlie invites the sins to a party/ball thing so they can meet vaggie" saga aka the chaggie fizzmodeus crossover
you know that trope when a character that is so ridden with guilt and shame and regret goes on a healing journey and as they get better their body starts to feel safe enough to finally gain some weight overtime? so. yeah. that one. except it's my Courier with his survival skill as a MAIN ONE, and he's been feeding Boone like five squirrel stews a day
Why is kallamar so hard to draw...
