My favorite thing about the dance sequences in this episode are all the subtle variations. It would have probably been easier for the animators to sync the character models to a uniform set movement but even in the final performance there are all these little details given to each ninja that really brings the whole episode to life
For instance here you can actually see Zane has his foot raised off the ground
I also noticed that occasionally he and Kai get ahead of Jay and Cole (with Zane being slightly faster at moving towards the next pose)
The start has Cole's stance as the widest, which makes sense because he needs to stand out for his own true potential episode!
I don't know what any of these moves are called, but I think it's interesting how Kai is more dramatic with the way he raises his shoulder- compared to Jay, whose performs the same move at a much softer angle

Here's something I think about.
In the first part of the pilot, Kai has to pass an obstacle course before Wu finishes his tea. Kai eventually accomplishes this by knocking the tea cup out of he hands, which is super clever! But Wu scoffs as he heads inside, which means that he probably didn't intend for Kai to do it this way, but still found it acceptable. So here's what I wonder:
How did the other ninja pass that test?
an: despite having another multi-chapter in the works, i’ve been secretly working on a mini-sequel to Meet Again. the final result will be a one-shot, but i’ve finally finished the first part, so i’ve decided to post it as a preview here!
(slight warning: this preview is more than 3k words long).

JADE | QUIET
The story broke a year after their return as ninja.
Cole tugged on the sails of Destiny’s Bounty, turning them northwest. The wind was strong; it wouldn’t take long to reach their destination. What awaited them, he wasn’t entirely sure. He only knew that its prospect filled him with dread.
The laws of chronology dictated that Cole was 3129 years-old. In appearance, he looked no older than twenty-one. He had lived through thirty-one lifetimes. Some were happy, some were sad, but most were lonely. Until now, he had long since accepted the latter as a permanent symptom of agelessness. It wasn’t very often that he got to live his days surrounded by friends.
It crushed his heart to know this was the last time it would ever happen.

technoo!!... as a chain because I can't put more than 10 in one post.
Zane's detective LARPing in prime empire has the same vibe as crude generative ai, in that he's cramming in a ton of material to achieve a likeness to fictional detectives without taking into account how the specifics of the situation may render his emulation unwarranted and seemingly surface level.
Humans and more sophisticated ai models are a lot more shrewd when it comes to processing and selecting data for particular insights.
Do you think Zane learns like a human or like an ai?
To draw a human face, a human has to learn the proportions and proper usage of the drawing tools or materials, and even then it usually ends up somewhat stylised. An ai only has to look at many many images so it can produce a new image that most closely represents the references. A human cannot do that.
Maybe he has a mixture of both, maybe he can fluctuate between the two, I can't decide.
I do, however, like to imagine that if he did learn like an ai, he'd still go through the steps a human needs because they bring him comfort. Even though he can produce near-perfect results, he still makes himself go through the trial and error of human learning, he purposefully gets stuff wrong so he can feel improvement.
It can't be fun to be perfect, right?
